Pardon the ignorance here, but…wasn’t there supposed to be a second set of AEW figures being released under a different name, like unmatched or something? I was told it was an ever other month trade off with Unrivaled, so that “figures were always on the shelves and available.” I am sure I don’t need to say this, but I personally have never seen ONE AEW figure in the wild soooo, can anyone shed some light for me?

Yes, "Unmatched." It is supposed to be out in the summer or fall last I heard and would alternate as you noted.

I would say ask AlexWestCollects about information on it as he was the one who saw it listed and I think he did preorder it. Other than that I don’t think there’s been anymore information given. |

The line is slated for a late summer/fall release. Likely before or after S7. It's the same style as Unrivaled, and essentially gives AEW a second sku at retail to increase their peg space. Waves will alternate monthly - Unrivaled one month, Unmatched the next - with the idea of always having product in store.
Jeremy has said that Unmatched will be where they look to broaden the line - so expect to possible see some legends, possible things like Hasbro or LJN style figures, etc. It should be a mix of repaints and first time figures, just like Unrivaled. And it's worth remembering you're still talking about a mass market retail line, so you're going to have a mix of big name and lesser known talent, but they still need to have enough market appeal to sell at retail. So don't expect to see Dark jobbers or folks who are rarely on tv.
The product availability has increased a ton, but most reports still seem to be that figures are selling through in a day or two. Targets near me have gotten at least 4-5 cases of S3 over the last couple months, but only Riho hangs around for more than a day or two. But Jeremy has said that their goal is to keep supply close to but below demand - the consequences for a lesser known brand of having a backup at retail could be a real line killer.

Kinda - what it really helps with is with 2 different SKUs, theoretically, if a store over orders on Line A, you don't have to wait for new product until Line A's stock is low enough to replenish. Line B will fill that gap until Line A is ready to re-order and then they would alternate shipments back and forth (hopefully). It also helps putting out new figures every month instead of every other month. |

It also helps putting out new figures every month instead of every other month. You are 100% correct, thats the way the program is supposed to work. However mattel top pics (new sku) screwed up inventory's everywhere for the longest time. Stores didnt know the difference and plugged them in on the same pegs as elites and cycle counted them as such, stores were so backed up and new product/waves never came in. |
