We are now in the third part of the Rebooking Royal Rumble and this time our focus has shifted to the Attitude Era.
1998:
After the 1997 Royal Rumble Winner, The Undertaker won the 30-Man Royal Rumble and earned the right to face the Champion Vader at WrestleMania 13. The Deadman triumphed and won his Second WWF Championship over Vader. But the title reign of The Undertaker lasted well into 5 months until losing the title to Bret Hart and fearing that his brother Kane would arrive on the scene because Paul Bearer announced that Undertaker had set the fire killing his father and mother, but his brother Kane was still alive. Also in the WWF Championship Picture was Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. At the 1997 Survivor Series, the Montreal Screwjob occurred with Shawn Michaels winning the WWF Championship over Bret Hart, Bret's brother Owen who lost the Intercontinental Title to Stone Cold Steve Austin that night eventually turned face for the first time since 1994 and demanded a title match with Michaels but before he could do so. Michaels would have to face the man that was not happy that what transpired in Montreal, and that was The Undertaker. At DX: In Your House. Michaels battled The Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match with Undertaker trying to win back the World Title for a third time. But The Undertaker's brother Kane interefered and cost The Undertaker the WWF Championship and descerated the gravesite with gasoline also setting it on fire. Michaels would hang on to the title for another day, but another Saturday Night's Main Event was occurring with Michaels having to defend the title against Owen Hart on December 27, 1997. And on that night, Owen won the WWF Title for the second time in his career. Michaels stated that Owen Hart's victory was a fluke, and plus. Michaels would have his friends from D-Generation X in Triple H and Chyna. Michaels would ask for a rematch at the 1998 Royal Rumble with Owen Hart and he would get that opportunity in a Ladder Match for the WWF Title, also the two marked men to look out for in the 1998 Royal Rumble Match were both Stone Cold and Kane.

With the win. Kane got a shot at the WWF Championship, or did he?. Stone Cold Steve Austin would defeat Kane at No Way Out with help from the Resurrected Undertaker and that earned Austin a title match at WrestleMania 14 while Undertaker was facing off against his brother Kane. Austin captured the title and defeated Shawn Michaels to win the title with HBK walking out due to his back injury. Austin would continue to have the title, but Vince McMahon decided to surprise the WWF Attitude Fans with something big, Hulk Hogan who had been Hollywood Hogan in WCW formed the nWo. But began to have problems with Eric Bischoff in him bringing in Bret Hart in Late 1997, after. Hogan would leave WCW after losing a loser leaves WCW Match to Bret Hart with Bret becoming the new leader of the nWo. Hogan would sign a WWF Contract before the Summer began. Hogan in his return would feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin and would even cost him the WWF Championship at the 1998 King of The Ring against Kane. That would lead to a match at Summerslam between Hogan and Austin with Austin winning. But the rivalry did not end there. Hogan would turn face temporarily and Austin would win back the title for the second time. At the 1998 Survivor Series, Austin would have to defend the WWF Title in a Survivor Series Elimination Match with partners by his side. Hogan would be a part of Austin's team, in the end of the match. It was Hogan and Austin vs Mankind in a 2 on 1 Match. But suddenly Hogan would attack Austin and cost him the match with Mankind eliminating Austin meaning it would come down to Mankind vs Hogan one on one. But another screwjob would happen with Hogan winning the WWF Title for the sixth time and eliminating Mankind. Hogan had sold out once again to the Corporation. Hogan would have his feud with Mankind while Vince and Austin would continue theirs. On January 4, 1999. Mankind captured the WWF Title against Hogan in a No Holds Barred Match with help from Stone Cold Steve Austin. With that, McMahon announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin would enter at #1. 2000:
The Rock had reached the pinnacle by winning the 1999 Royal Rumble and earning the right to face Hulk Hogan in a dream match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship while Austin had feuded with Paul Wight known as The Big Show. It would be the People's Champion walking out of WrestleMania 15 for the first time with the WWF Title. However, on May 23, 1999. The Rock would drop the title to The Undertaker at Over The Edge, we are still keeping Owen Hart alive in this diary because the Over The Edge fall will not happen and he will still stay around. The WWF Championship changed hands multiple times in 1999 it would go back to Mankind, Hollywood Hogan, The Rock, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Hollywood Hogan and oddly enough Mankind again. With Stone Cold in neck surgery and The Undertaker being buried alive by his own Ministry at the 1999 Summerslam. The Rock, Triple H and Mankind were now the top stars. A new era had dawned the World Wrestling Federation however, in 1999. The McMahon Family were now used frequently with Shane arriving first in 1998 and Vince's daughter Stephanie being the next. Stephanie would be blackmailed and abducted by The Ministry of Darkness. It turned out that Jake Roberts was the higher power behind the scenes in an attempt to screw Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin would eventually beat The Higher Power and regain the WWF Championship for the second time in the Summer of 1999. But after, Austin would lose the title to Triple H at Summerslam while Undertaker took on Jake Roberts in a Buried Alive Match with Undertaker burying Jake and himself alive leaving The Deadman to take time off and reinvent his new character. Stephanie would be used frequently as she was set to be married to Test. But that was not the case as apparently Stephanie betrayed Test and her father and brother and was now married to Triple H. At Armageddon, The Game defeated Vince to earn a title match at the 2000 Royal Rumble. As Vince took a leave of absence. The McMahon-Helmsley Era had only begun and Triple H would now be determined to win back the WWF Title for the third time against Mankind, but after all the beatings Triple H would give Mankind. Mankind would be unable to defend the WWF Title, but standing in Mankind's place defending the title would be Triple H's Worst Nightmare, Cactus Jack in a Street Fight Match. Meanwhile The Rock would attempt to be a back to back winner as he was a marked man to win the 2000 Royal Rumble.

2001:
After Cactus had won the Royal Rumble, he had now earned the right to face Triple H at WrestleMania 16 for the WWF Championship in his retirement match one more time. Cactus would win the WWF Title in his final match leading to a Tournament with Chris Jericho winning the Tournament and becoming the World Wrestling Federation Champion for the very first time. Jericho held on to the title for a good 7 months, but another new shadow was shining, Kurt Angle had a dominant 2000 by winning the European, the Intercontinental and also the King of The Ring, and at the Survivor Series 2000, he had finally made history by winning the World Wrestling Federation Championship, meanwhile. Stone Cold Steve Austin had returned to find out who had run him down and low and behold, the man was revealed as Hulk Hogan. Hogan admitted that he ran Stone Cold Steve Austin because the WWF was not big enough for both Hogan and Austin. Hogan had some backup in, it turned out by the fall of 2000, Vince McMahon took TimeWarner away from WCW and decided to bring in the nWo with Hall, Nash and Hogan that would seal the fate of WCW permanately while WCW was on it's last rites. Nash and Hall left WCW in the Spring of 2000 and would wait to sit out their contracts to return to the World Wrestling Federation, at the 2000 Survivor Series, with Austin and Hogan battling it out. the nWo made it's return to attack Austin and reveal that they were the masterminds in stealing The Rock's car and running Austin over. At Armageddon, the nWo would cost Austin the WWF Championship and would also beatdown the champion Angle as well, that would give Hogan a title match against Angle at the 2001 Royal Rumble and that would slowly turn Angle straight into a babyface. Meanwhile, Stone Cold would attempt to win his first Royal Rumble Match and get back at WrestleMania 17 to get the WWF Title back.

2002:
Finally, Stone Cold had acheived his dream by winning the 2001 Royal Rumble and would find his way back home to win the WWF Championship against Hogan at WrestleMania 17, but things were about to change, WCW would be ready to invade the WWF after Austin had retained the title at the 2001 King of The Ring against The Undertaker and Kane in a Triple Threat Match, the signs were showing when the first WCW Competitor Sting showed up to stare down The Rattlesnake. Sting had the WCW World Title Belt with him after he had defeated Scott Steiner at the final Night of Champions. WCW would continue to still invade the WWF, But they would take a break for a while, at the 2001 Summerslam. Austin and The Rock would face off for the WWF Championship with The Rock taking time off but returned in the Summer to become the #1 Contender, this would be their first ever face off since 1997 with the WWF Championship on the line. Both men were knocked down in the match, but then suddenly Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Hulk Hogan, Sting and Goldberg all came down with Shane McMahon and Eric Bischoff, and attacked The Rock and Austin and even the commentators similar to the 2010 Beatdown with the Nexus attacking John Cena. Bischoff grabbed a camera and said "Did you think we were just going to go away?". Some of the WWF Superstars also defected to WCW in The Big Show, X-Pac, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko, but the loyal superstars that would stay in the WWF with Chris Jericho, William Regal, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. At the 2001 Survivor Series. Team WCW consisting of Goldberg, Sting, Hollywood Hogan, Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page defeating Team WWF consisting of The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin with Goldberg being the sole survivor of the match. Bischoff had owned control of both WWF and WCW. He made a lot of changes with WWF RAW being WCW Monday Nitro and WCW SMACKDOWN. Bischoff would also change the Royal Rumble Format similar to the World War III of 1995 through 1998. Bischoff announced that there would be 45 WCW Superstars against 45 WWF Superstars in the first ever historic 60-Man Royal Rumble Match. At Starrcade, Goldberg captured the World Wrestling Federation Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin, but a saviour would soon save the WWF and that man from injury was Triple H and he would be determined to come back stronger to win the WWF Championship.

But a curveball would be placed as Shawn Michaels made Vince McMahon as the #2 entrant. Plus, Hogan would square off against Mankind in a I Quit Match for the WWF Championship.
