Surely this is big enough to get its own thread, I mean, this thread specifically refers to the news event of the purchase and not anything to do with content on the Network (anything to do with content, I think, would make sense to post in the already-existing thread).
Anyway, no need to post a link, just easily Google "Peacock WWE Network." NBC has bought the Network, and will make it available with commercials for 5 bucks a month (as part of an already-existing package), and without commercials (also within a bigger, already-existing NBC streaming package) for 10 a month. Thoughts?

I read articles that were available. So what’s going to happen with everyone’s accounts who are existing subscribers?

I wouldn't be surprised if you just, by default, carry over into the 10-dollar package since they figure that you're already paying 10 a month as it is. From there, you can go in and modify. I might do the five-dollar option, but I sure do dislike commercials.

I'm really curious what's going to happen for me. The purchase should only affect American customers, but I have the network through a weird loophole. In Canada you're only supposed to be able to get the network with a cable TV subscription. If you have an apple tv however, you can subscribe directly through the network app there. It knows I'm Canadian, but I'm not sure what's going to happen with the actual app, since the app is for the American version as far as I'm aware. I hope I can still keep the network, haven't had cable for years and that's not going to change.

I wonder what the broader international implications will be?

I'm personally good with it. I'll pay the 9.99 to have WWE AND all that Peacock offers it's self. Definitely worth it for me. Saves money too! Instead of having two 9.99 subs I can essentially get two services for the price of one. What's not to like?

I believe if you're international, nothing changes. NBC is paying WWE... ...for the next five years. It's 4.99 for a version with commercials or 9.99 for commercial free. So you could either save money or pay the same. No price hike. Oh and it's over, Vince failed.

I just hope they don't take stuff off thats already on there.

i saw where subs start tanking after SS or before it, i cant remember...and now this ... so im not shocked really. but im not sure if some content will be scrapped. the only reason i get it from time to time is to watch some of the older PPVS and shows. i could care less about Undertakers Last Ride Docuseries.. so if they scrap anything for these little programs , im not sure ill bite. Peacock has zero for me anyhow. but i guess its a bonus if you do intend on getting the network again at some point to watch. crazy it kinda failed. but they foudn a buyer to host it. why not...

International customers, nothing changes. I’m sure if the coming days or weeks US Network subscribers will get an email saying service will cease on 3/18 with a link and info on how to subscribe to the cock.

Why I don't put my trust in "streams" to carry my content. Physical media 4 life
... How will this affect WWE Home Video, or what is better described as the shell of its former self? Will NBCU allow Warner Bros. to release PPVs and (very select) extra releases in the US? Is Peacock allowing their stream content to be released on the physical market?

So we pretty much get a lot of extra stuff for the same price we've been paying...sounds great to me.

This isn't a shock to anyone who pays attention to their conference calls and quarterly reports. They've been trying to get someone to buy their PPVs for like a year now.
I'm waiting for someone to do a full financial write-up on this. 2020 was their most profitable year ever, 2021 could easily top it. It's crazy seeing this company constantly fail upwards. lol
On the surface, Universal is paying a ton of money for WWE's one million subscribers. Unless they add a ton of new streamers, this is a really bad deal for them. WWE, of course, is getting a ton of money without really giving anything up.

The only thing I hope for is better streaming quality. Mine has always been a headache.
