I’m glad they are the same style as unrivalled but I don’t really like LJN I think it all depends on what's nostalgic for you. I grew up with Hasbros and Jakks BCA, and would buy the heck out of anything they release in those styles. I have zero interest in LJN. But if I was a few years older, I'd probably have had LJNs growing up and would be all over any remakes. I use to collect the CS but when they had a LJN in the set I wouldn’t get it I like my figures with articulation but I can see them putting the odd LJN in an unmatched wave here and there, they didn’t really make many in the classic superstars line as long as the unmatched wave says the same style and articulation for the further I will be happy don’t want them making another line with different style and articulation

Copied from the other thread:
Jeremy also mentioned legends in regards to Unmatched. Basically sounded like the plan is for Unrivaled to remain the core line, and Unmatched to be mostly those same type of figures, with the ability experiment with LJN style/retros/legends/throwbacks (wasn't totally clear if "throwbacks" was referring the already mentioned retros/LJns or throwback attires).

i think they need to cool their jets with "LJN" style figures
those were some of the worst received Jakks Classics ever, the hobby has changed. nobody is going to go crazy for a jon moxley LJN figure. and retail stores cant even stock the current product. before they start coming up with 4 different lines and body styles maybe they should work on the CORE lines first

Would rather Unmatched just focus on including legends in the current style,

Would rather Unmatched just focus on including legends in the current style, I think the same can be said for Hasbro style. There were obviously issues with character selection for Mattel's retros, but the line died hard and fast once they went above the $10 price point. I'll pay $20 all day for highly detailer, articulated 6in figures. But I honestly don't see how the value will be there to attract more than a really small subset of buyers for LJN and Hasbro style figures at an inflated price point.

They have their hands on everything.

They crap on the Jakks LJN figures from the Classic line pretty regularly, so I don’t think they can be blamed or credited (depending on one’s POV) for this if it happens.

Unmatched went from them being able to do a deep dive of the AEW roster to getting more of the same guys in 2 different forms and legends really fast. If they do 1 LJN,1 hasbro and 1 legend each set that’s 3 of the 6 figures before getting any anchor names.

It was more maybe one of a legend/retro/LJN etc. per series, and even that didn’t sound like it was going to be every set.

I started out being All In with this series (other than chases unless I found them in the wild), but after 6 Codys, and possible LJN/Hasbro style figures, I think I'm officially becoming a cherry picker.
If nothing else, I'm definitely not interested in LJN/Hasbro style figures at all. I may convince myself to stick with the normal style figures, but any off-shoots just won't be for me. Really hoping those are kept to a minimum.

Let's say they do start including "legends" in this new series. What rights do they have to do an old school style Sting, or Taz in ring gear? Are those likenesses owned by WWE?

This has been asked and answered several times. They don't own the gear those guys wore pre WWE because those guys designed and paid for it themselves and it was their intellectual property.
