Is there anyway when you are searching marketplace to be able sort items from newly listed to oldest anymore? I know about a month or 2 ago you could and now all of a sudden most of the search filters are gone on both my iphone & desktop. I know theres a category for newly listed but its really not, it will show an item listed an hour ago, then next item 5 days ago, the item after that 3 days ago.
Or does marketplace just suck now

I don't know, I didn't even know that was once a feature. I only use it for marketplace and sometimes things pop "listed over a week ago..." and I'm thinking, would have been nice to know when it was for sale so I didn't buy something else etc.
I hope someone has the answer!

It Or does marketplace just suck now It's sucked for me recently. I've only dealt on marketplace for a little under a year and for most of the year it was great. I would do about 2-3 sales a week but since October or November I'm lucky to do that many a month. When I first started it was great because I put on a lot of items that won't sell well on ebay due to being large and I don't want to ship and most of them sold. I still have a few hundred items listed but no takers, even on very low priced items. The worst is getting about 10 messages a day asking about items no bites. I send them a list of my items and tell them to keep in touch if something interests them, I'm willing to do deals but then I get no response. I know my list of items is long but there's pictures and descriptions that should make it easier. I don't know what people on there want but it's different than ebay. At least with ebay you have someone committed to a sale and very rarely asking questions without buying, from my experience. Sometimes I would get 20 messages a day with no buying on marketplace. I also can't stand the generic "is this available?" I know it's facebook using that as a starting point but it just seems silly and unoriginal and uninviting to a real conversation. If someone is serious about buying they should state their intentions rather than using facebook's template.

Speaking about Facebook, is it effective to promote business with Facebook advertising nowadays? I am currently looking for the best business promotion ways so I would be very appreciative of any kind of info. I hired SEO specialist and also optimize my website on my own, I have to admit the result is quite impressive. By the way, if you need useful tools for your website, check out this link revalin.com/

If someone bids it is a solid result almost always. You could get bunches of messages about an item, like I did, on facebook and no one is committed to seeing the sale through so the seller is just wasting time.

its awful, all i get are ads from other states trying to ship items. Local items hardly show up anymore. However I did score 2 deals in the last two weeks on baseball cards and comics.

i use to search quite a bit but in the last few months its gotten to the point where you cant even search local any more. it pulls up people willing to ship to you, which clearly isnt ing local.

For me, it's hard to find anything really local since its a 50 mile radius. 50 miles is away in Edinburgh so it's not exactly local. I don't mind searching on it now and again, but I've never found any really good deals because people don't want to post things.

I honestly prefer ebay when it comes to buying second hand stuff. I use Facebook only for advertising my business with fb ads. There is also an easy way to connect facebook leads with the hubspot which saves the business owners a lot of time - savemyleads.com/facebook-lead-ads/hubspot. That was my biggest and the best discovery this year.
