Is anyone else surprised we haven’t had a Royal Rumble 1997 HBK? It was quite a big moment in his history - recapturing the championship from Sid in front of his home town in Texas. I’m not the biggest HBK fan but I always thought this would be a great figure with the Texas flag hearts on his pants. Or maybe they’re saving it for an ultimate further down the line? What do you guys think?

Alot of the choices they have made for Michaels have been disappointing. We have almost no 1997 figures, the only one I can think of besides the Ultimate Edition is the RSC Exclusive. We have one HBK in red, which is surprising because for a while there, Mattel only designed figures in black and red it felt like.

That said, I agree completely. Mattel has really left a lot to be desired from the 1996-97 HBK period, which is odd considering he was the top guy for a vast majority of it. To answer the initial poster, RR 97 is up there with 1998 Taker as far as figures I;m shocked we haven't gotten. Seems like such an easy slam dunk.

In general I prefer pre-chaps attires for HBK, and this RR one is a really good one. Would like to see it made. Although WM23 chaps attire is badly needed as well.

I'd love to see a Royal Rumble '97 HBK in elite form!
Personally, I'd also like to see Wrestlemania XIX get done.

HBK will always get figures so I wouldn't worry when Mattel make certain attires from his career. Same as Undertaker but I do agree 1998 Undertaker should have been made by now.

I'd buy it because I buy every HBK but I would much rather get a Mind Games HBK

That Shawn attire is actually one of my favorites. I had the Jakks Deluxe Classic Superstars figure of that Shawn attire when I was a kid, and it was my go-to HBK figure. I still have it somewhere in my house, but it’s waist joint is hella loose.
I’d love to see Mattel give this HBK the Elite treatment!

This is one of those that needs the Ultimate treatment. It would look great complete with entrance gear.

Needs to come with the build a Jose Lethario gimmick and have HBK come with the lower torso, because he basically told Jose to kiss his a$$.

The problem with mattel is, well bill really, is he don't really care what you want. Sorry to say its true. Look at hogan.
He only does what he wants to do FIRST.

As someone who splits their shelves in losse chronological order I have 3 on that shelf already. Badd Blood, Survior series and DX IYH.

Yeah very surprised. I'm always surprised when I see a new HBK coming down the pipe that it isn't this attire.
I would buy it 100%

I can see that, but I want a couple of pre-heel turn/pre-DX 96/97 figures. Top guy babyface HBK. We have nothing besides WM12 over and over from that period, and as cool as the white is, it was very much a one-off attire.

The Elite HBK's they have made are: WM14-1998 WM12-1996 WM10-1994 Summerslam 95 WrestleMania 8-1992 1992 version 2 Rockers versions 4 chaps versions And then the 3 1997 versions, one of which is event specific and not even accurate. We are 11 years into the line and still don't have any red elite HBK's besides the WM14 figure or any tights RA era Shawn's.
