Is there a special bond between Canada and the UK?

I’ve heard through the years that Canadians follow British culture way more closely than we Americans do, perhaps because they broke from Britain in a much more peaceful way than we did. Of course, I know Canada does acknowledge the British Royal Crown (though it doesn’t have real political power anywhere). WF has many members from the UK and Canada; for Canadian members, do you feel close “spiritually” to the UK? And for UK members, do you feel “spiritually closer” to Canada than the US?

They are still considered part of the British Commonwealth. Although they do some things differently than the UK does. For instance Canada drives on the Right side of the road whereas the UK Drives on the Left side of the road.

to be honest I resent the monarchy and see zero reason why Canada still has to be considered under the commonwealth.

also I would say other than old ladies watching coronation street we follow British culture at an absolute zero and have a culture of our own.

Apart from their Queen being on our $20 bill and my love for Radiohead, not really. I dunno about spiritually but at least socially I'd say Canada's closer to America than anywhere else.

Most Canadians don't give a sh*t about The UK any more than they give a sh*t about The USA. If anything, we're "closer" to America culturally, even though plenty of Canadians like to take the "f*ck America" stance.
