I want to know how signing The Goon to a legends deal happened. Who is making that decision? Was Damien Demento not available so they went with whoever else they could get? Pretty sure it's more about the man than the character. Irwin has quite the history. |

That's what I'd love to know. He's been signed for a few years - he had a Topps card somewhere around 2017. Maybe somebody in the office owed him a favor. Because I can't see any of the usual situations where they've given out a "thank you" legends deal - HOF induction, working backstage, inclusion in a documentary, etc. People who argue that there are few legends signed because WWE "need to be able to profit" are off base. It's politics - just look at Stevie Ray, Tatsumi Fujinami, Bill Irwin, Strongbow. |

I totally, 100%, get why people would groan at the Goon, but I love it. It’s New Gen, I’m a huge hockey fan, and it’s hilarious. Plus, he’s red and black and Mattel loves that sh*t. Definite buy for me.
That said, I concur with the “who the hell signed the Goon to a Legends deal” sentiment. We have major holes in this line, guys from WCW and ECW a plenty that would be incredible, and we’re getting the Goon. The first time in the line guys are just so limited and, of all guys, we’re getting Goon? Like wtf.

I really could not care less about who they make for these chase figures. I don't care who we get and when they come out. They're all niche guys anyways. For every person groaning over the Goon, there were the same amount of people groaning for the other chases that you actually wanted. Its just the cycle of these things.
Nonetheless, super niche figure and cool to get regardless. Totally ridiculous and it'll be fun to see how the figure comes out.

I need a Yokozuna figure so IDGAF how many times they've made him prior to my getting back in the game, this is a win for me if true. Attires would entirely dictate the WM wave for me. 35 for AJ and 14 for HBK, and since they've already done that HBK in a previous wave and the AJ as a Basic, I'm not gonna hold my breath. I too need a Yoko and don't want to shell out the nose for an older one. People here tend to forget there are people who started collecting after them. |
