Dynamite 10/14: One Down, Many More To Come

On October 2, 2019, All Elite Wrestling took an important step in reinvigorating the industry seen as stale and complacent. The two-hour block was the first exposure a pro wrestling company has enjoyed on the network since 2001, and instantly commanded attention from young and old alike. Now, those dedicated fans will be rewarded with a packed show, full of championship battles and all the top action that has made Dynamite a must-watch staple on Wednesday nights!

Jon Moxley has held the AEW World Championship since February, defending the title against the best AEW has to offer (also Jake Hager). But perhaps his most dire defense awaits tonight, at the hands of the ruthless Lance Archer. These two have warred across Japan in the past, but has the "Murderhawk Monster" finally gained the advantage thanks to the tutelage of Jake Roberts? CODY won back the TNT Championship in a savage match after making a shocking return, but with his celebration came the next challenger, the cult fave Orange Cassidy. The Freshly Squeezed One has proven his value and talents over the summer, and now searches for his first title success. Can OC's unconventional style be enough to bewilder the traditionalist CODY, or will the "American Nightmare" get Cassidy into a scientific affair, complete with lockups? The Best Friends get another crack at the Tag Team Championship, Shida puts the Women's World Championship on the line, and "Le Champion" Chris Jericho will be a special attendee as MJF makes a game-changing announcement.

AEW has defied odds and obliterated the expectations since debuting on TNT, securing deals and even cementing their union with a unique championship design. Sure bigger and better things lie ahead for AEW and Dynamite in the years to come!

Am I crazy to think Orange Cassidy might win? It just seems a little strange to me he'd get big wins over Jericho and then go around and lose two TNT title matches in the span of like four weeks, but I also don't really see Cody losing it after only one week.

I'd be pretty blown away if Cody lost. they both have some issues with the dark order in the past so that may become a factor here.

Really could see scenarios where o.c. wins tonight. Only title change that really makes sense. Guessing we're getting Kingston/Mox rematch, Nyla/Shida rematch & FTR/bucks at full gear (tag match main eventing). Seems weird to defend all the titles and have none change hands, so maybe Cody loses. He's certainly hurting from last week and maybe Orange will try. Maybe.

Not gonna lie, they’ll be just another team without those titles.

i think they've been built well enough that they need some more wins before a big loss really puts over the next team in line. i have no issue with it being best friends, i just find it too early.

i think the more guys that work with FTR, Mox, Brody, Cody, the better. they've done the big time tv and ppv matches and can really help those with less tv experience imo.
