I don't know how many fans of metal we have around the board, but I figured I'd give it a shot. What are your personal top ten favorite metal bands of all time?
Here are mine, in order to the best of my ability:
1. Dark Tranquillity 2. In Flames (Old) 3. Wintersun 4. The Wounded 5. Ghost 6. Vintersorg 7. Hypocrisy 8. Skyfire 9. Borknagar 10. Carach Angren

But then the bottom five I kept coming up with bands outside metal I liked more.

Body Count You're pretty old school. Most of the stuff I love pre-1990 isn't metal. I think my real, true love of metal came from the early 90 European stuff. Not that I wasn't listening to Metallica, Priest, King Diamond or anything as a young teenager though. Always seems like Metallica or Maiden are a gateway.

And definitely not pretty! And I can't believe I forgot to put Black Sabbath on my list. I used to spend my Saturday midnights watching The Headbanger's Ball on MTV. But I'd get pissed if they would show mostly Aerosmith, Def Leppard, AC-DC & Bon Jovi.

Once we get before the 90s, maybe mid 80s I'm more into progressive rock, acid rock, psyche. Stuff like that. Born in the 80s, so, grew up on a lot of prog and hair metal.

Can I add Baby Metal just because they make me laugh? They wouldn't be on my playlist so to speak, but I appreciate them so much. The band is great, then the singers come in and nail that Japanese pop style.
