What’s up everyone I am RawisAA93. I’ve been lurking these forums for the last month and decided to join in on the fun. I’m also a new collector or I should say a returning collector. I use to get a bunch of wrestlers growing up and still have every single one to this day. I grew up with jakks pacific era. So I’m new to Mattel. I stopped collecting back in 2005 when I was in middle school. I thought I was getting to old for them. But looking back I wished I would’ve kept going because I missed out on a lot of wrestlers from the RA days.
My official run was from 98-05. It was an awesome time to be a kid and wrestling fan. After about a 10 year break I started noticing stores like Big Lots having figures. A lot of times I would just pass on them, but one day I saw Macho Man ToysrUs exclusive and a basic old school Sting. I couldn’t pass this time and had to pick em up. I was an occasional buyer, I only bought figures at big lots, five below or on clearance at WM Target. I only bought 3 figures at full price a Sting HOF, Macho Man DM, and a Stone Cold WM Basic.
I can Thank AEW for not only sparking my interest back into Wrestling again, but for getting me back in collecting figures again. When I first heard they were coming out with figures and since I never did get a mattel Chris Jericho. I had to get a Le Champion He holds the record of most figure of one wrestler in my collection. I was very Happy to find the AEW sets a few weeks ago. I’ve been to 5 different Walmarts since then and haven’t seen any. After reading and watching youtubers having no luck, I’m glad I got them while I could.
So I’m officially out of retirement and look forward to buying again. Especially hunting for them in stores, as it brings back great memories from when I was a kid.
