Do you care?
Personally I'm all for it. I live less than a mile from the post office and I get my mail routinely after 7pm. Packages always arrive after the estimated delivery date, including 1 now that has been within 30 minutes of my house since before lunch on Thursday. We frequently have trouble with delivery drivers too. Either they jam boxes in the mailbox, or they drop them under the mailbox right by the road, or if they are feeling particularly useless, they just mark the package as undeliverable saying the mailbox is blocked even though they manage to get the bills in there. Dont even get me started on going in that hell hole with 1 person working to move the line.
Take away every last cent of their funding NOW and put that crapshow under, or force them to run properly to stay alive.
We can #CancelGoya over 1 mans political affiliation but we keep bailing this place out and giving them passes.

Ridiculous post. We have posts on page 1 of this very board about "how much taller will I get" and yet asking peoples opinion on an actual event that is being talked about in our country is ridiculous. Got ya big guy.

It really doesnt bother me. You've got companies like FedEx, UPS, DHL and now even Amazon that are doing much of the delivery and without federal funding. The USPS was great idea generations ago but with business evolving to electronic bill pay & emails among other ways of communication, the world has really passed the USPS by. Outside of getting a package from Ebay now and then the only thing I get from the USPS is junk mail that I end up just throwing away. Imagine cutting out that middle man where junk mail wont be sent, the paper that could be saved/recycled.

You should care.
As with any organization, its effectiveness is wholly dependent on those running it. And since people are the ones in charge, no wonder it was in poor shape.
And the "political affiliation" line, lulz

The Goya CEO or coo or someone said he supports trump and cancel culture went wild. You can laugh, but it doesnt make it not real

We should move on to real hot button issues like the penny. Doesn’t it cost like 2.4 cents to make one penny? Nickels too. Really, we should round everything up to a quarter and be done with most change. The data is well outdated now, but both CGP Grey and John Green made fantastic videos on this topic 8-10 years ago. Worth a rewatch

It’s in article 1 of the Constitution to be established. We don’t say the Military lost 500 billion dollars, it’s just its cost. Though we should look into it’s operating costs and shrink the Government at opportune times, I don’t feel removing mail sorting machines and post collection boxes before the election is the thing to do right now. We should move on to real hot button issues like the penny. Doesn’t it cost like 2.4 cents to make one penny? I have heard that before.

It's pretty sad when my goddamn mailman has turned into a subject of political debate.
But that's what happens when the leader of our country is a self-absorbed sociopathic white nationalist, I suppose. Trying his best to stifle the idea that he may lose by removing any and all ways to get out and vote in November so that he can run this place into the goddamn ground as long as his black little heart ticks.

I was talking to my wife the other day about this during the whole coin shortage issue. Let's make changes that do away with coins (or at the very least small denomination coins). You want to keep dollar, half dollar, and quarter dollar coins, that's fine, but let's round everything off.

I have an ebay business (I know ebay is a four letter word here) and in 11 years I've only ever shipped once each with UPS and Fedex and each time the item was damaged. Without the post office my business is dead.

The post office is important, and a useful institution. I know not much about the funding side, but it would be a sad day if it no longer existed. Versions of it do in other countries, but ours is still pretty trustworthy, and may be the best, still. If nothing else, think of the prices of shipping at the other carriers, then add oversees rates, letters or non. Not everyone uses email for their "letters", or even have the capability to. The old ways still have use, and should be able to co-exist instead of being erased. Maybe I just long for the old days.....
