I only collect wrestling figures so I don’t know if any other toy line uses this as a way for articulation. Do you personally think it’ll last, or is it too early to say?

I'm sure if they're displayed, it should be fine for many years. MOC, much longer.

I don’t know I have plenty of figures with “rubber exo skeletons” to them that were just displayed and they dried out over time and start to crumble. And the rubber were a dust magnet that you really couldn’t clean with a cloth. That’s why I said I’m that other thread that before I say they the better figures compared to Mattel’s Elites I will need to see how they hold over time. Because when Jeremy was in charge of Jakks they released two lines that used the rubber bodies and they dried and crumbled over the years. I hope these don’t do that over time but ate it being series 1 it’s way too soon to know for certain.

Although a different level of quality, the Storm Collectibles Street Fighter V, Gears of War, and Mortal Kombat figures I own seem to have not dried up years later.

We’ve come a long way since Jakks Unlimited ... I think we will be fine It still happens now even with Hot Toys Bale Batman figures. I am hoping for the best but I am also prepared for the worst. Are they great right now? Sure, but we have now idea how these rubber lower torsos will hold up over the next couple years. So I will wait until we have a few series our and a couple years before I crown them the best. I just know I will be displaying them away from direct sunlight until I know for certain.

I've asked Magic about this and his reply was that Jazwares has insanely high QA standards and the figures passed the tests. I don't think it's going to be a problem.

They were at least revealed and shown off before he came into the fold. Unlimited also didn't last real long after Jeremy got full control. I still remember Jack and the other co-admin on here at the time hyping the Unlimited reveal up like they were going to be amazing, game-changing figures. I remember the other admin was pushing it harder than Jack, but I still stayed up until like 11:30 PM on a Friday night and I was like "that's it?" That was also 20 years ago, a completely different kind of rubber used and science tends to evolve over nearly two decades.

Interesting didn’t know appreciate the info And yes I intended to keep them out of sunlight anyways as if I had any reservations it was that the torso may possibly discolor if in direct sunlight enough

Actually I noted the unlimited because I still have two my hogan has taken on a very terminator look to it that in a strange way makes me laugh but my RVD honestly still holds up all these years laters w the exception of a small SABU like scar or two under his outfit The Hogan was in allot more sunlight over the years

Straight from magic... it’s not rubber. It’s pvc. Plastic just a softer form. I’m assuming to make it easier to pop the lower torso off the waist without cracking.

We will probably see those until they get in the swing of things after a few waves.

I don't want to run the risk of getting a bad one and not having an easy time returning it if need be.

These are going to be fine cracking wise. Not a chance that will happen . Trust me I’m an expert when it comes to action figure plastic in both high and low end.
There is a chance that it could discolor in about 12-20 years. More likely than that is it will stain.
They are smart and have high QC. Way better than Mattel. While their Rick rude is staining all over town jazzwares wraps plastic around the parts that could stain
But for example Cody’s belt? That will stain. Guaronteed.

They can say anything they want on the subject. Call it pvc instead of rubber that’s all well and good. But unless they’ve been using this material for their toys for years they can’t say for 100% certainty how it’ll hold up over time. The only other Jazwares toys I can think of that I ever purchased is their Assassin’s Creed figures from a couple years back.

Time will tell.
I think it's possible they wear down and staining is a concern, but it's too soon to tell.
