AEW Launch Day Thread (most likely coming 8/6)

Brickseek and made a call to an associate to make sure it was there. Despite being a small town it had probably the best Walmart in the state. Saw the young bucks left on the pegs even though brickseek said zero at the time.

Years ago when I was in high school we would spend Thanksgiving up there and always had the best luck doing Black Friday shopping. You could go middle of the day and get everything you were looking for.

For the last 24 hours a Walmart in the next town over has shown 6+ on Brickseek.

Went there yesterday and they weren’t out yet.

Went there this morning and they said they have no idea where it is.

Got home checked brickseek and it’s said 2-3.

Went back to the Walmart and got Cody, Jericho, and Omega.

It was the shipper, so in 30 minutes someone bought everything besides the 3 I got lmao.

I saw on Brickseek Suffren NY had them so I headed over there. I didn’t see them on the pegs and there were a FedEx driver and two others (father and son I think) looking for them. I gave an employee at customer service my Cody UPC to scan and he said it was on tonight’s truck and would be out by tomorrow but the toy dept person was on his lunch break.

Anyway I decided to go to the Palisades Center Target In hopes of finding the yellow trunks Hammer and the ML Legendary Riders Punisher. I arrived to Target just as the employee stocked the Punisher set. And asked about the GI Joe’s if they would have them for tomorrow’s street date. He said they had some. So I thanked him and check for the Hammer with no luck. In the parking lot as I was freeing the Punisher figure another customer came out hold Gung Ho saying they had them on the cart and he had the employee open them for him. So I went back in and asked if he had anymore of the Joe’s. He pulled out a lone Gung Ho which was the one I wanted most, because he was my favorite Joe. So it wasn’t a wasted trip after all.

Nice, going to a Target nearby hoping to find Beachhead. Hope some of the AEW figures start trickling down to the Atlanta metro area. Both Tennessee and Florida have/had them.

2 Walmart’s within 15 mile radius’s (in opposite directions though) just changed from 0 to 6+.. should I try to go today or safer to wait until the morning?

Oh, damn. I just had an awesome Brickseek spike within the past hour. Ran out to check, and the display was already half picked over. Nothing but Cody, Jericho, and Omega. Got a Cody and Omega for myself and my buddy here.

Should have bought Brandi. Could have flipped her to pay for the rest. 

I didn’t see her. The figures were not on the pegs, but I told the Walmart employee which I was interested in and he brought them out. Not interested in flipping because I know people like me are hunting frantically and that would be unfair ethically.

For those VERY few that have had luck placing an order online & it not getting Cancelled, have you gotten 1 of each or duplicates? Placed an order for 6 hoping it’ll net me 1 of each atleast (no Brandi obviously since she isn’t in the shipper) but I’m being realistic & knowing it’ll get cancelled

I placed an order for 3,ended up with 2 Nick,and 1 Matt Jackson.

Brickseek showed 6+ at both of my local Walmarts this morning. No figures in the actual toy aisle, I almost left but spotted the shipper. No chases or Brandi but I did get one of each of the others. There were 2 sets of bucks and 5-6 of everybody else. I was glad I got to pick through them because I did see some botched paint apps on some of the faces. I also think it was a huge missed opportunity that those UFC figs are not on the same scale as the wrestlers. I went to the second Walmart just on the off chance of a chase but no luck on what seemed to be a fresh untouched shipper. I have not been hyped for figures for quite a while but I'm loving these.

2 stores in my Alabama search radius now show stock. One wouldn't be that bad a drive under normal circumstances, but I'm not bothering with them until they hit closer.

And now it shows zero at Suffren. But I’m not upset because I did get the Punisher Legendary Riders and the GI Joe Gung Ho which I did want more than Omega and a second Cody and Jericho.
