1. Open Challenge | The Motor City Machine Guns def. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) In the opening bout, The Rascalz came out cocky and seemingly prepared for anyone to answer their challenge. To their surprise and ours, the challengers were none other than former multiple time World Tag Team Champions, The Motor City Machine Guns! Even with such stiff competition, The Rascals would give it their all in a great bout but the Machine Guns got the better of them. Sabin and Shelley clearly had the better chemistry after teaming together for so long, looking as if they hadn't missed a beat since their last match together quite some time ago. With much innovative offense, The Machine Guns picked up the victory after dropping Dez with the Dirt Bomb.
Backstage, both Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary would have separate conversations with John E Bravo, telling him that they must win the #1 Contender Knockouts Gauntlet tonight!
2. Old School Rules Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship | Moose (c) def. Tommy Dreamer Dreamer was channeling his inner Terry Funk by wearing a "Moose Sucks Eggs" shirt in his specialty match. Moose made an entrance fit for a king, meanwhile remaining unfazed by Tommy. As you'd expect, this one featured everything but the kitchen sink. From the garbage cans, to kendo sticks, to steel chairs, nothing was enough to stop the power of Moose; not even Dreamer's signature DDT. After slamming Dreamer face first into a pile of thumbtacks, Moose connects with the Lights Out Spear to win.
Gia Miller is awaiting a new arrival to IMPACT! Wrestling but instead, Johnny Swinger pulls up in a Jaguar and says the rental car was under the name “Anderson”.
3. Knockouts Gauntlet for the Gold | Kylie Rae Wins the #1 Contendership for the Knockouts Championship Tasha Steelz and Kylie Rae would kick things off for two minutes until the next competitor would enter. The third person was set to be Taya Valkyrie, but instead we got John E Bravo cosplaying as her. He's quickly eliminated, meaning the other Knockouts would now enter every minute. Kimber Lee is out next, and then Tasha’s partner, Kiera Hogan. Susie enters the gauntlet, and works together with Kylie to eliminate Tasha. Katie Forbes is a surprise entrant and twerks with Kiera before trying to eliminate her. Madison Rayne out next, followed by Havok, the real Taya Valkyrie, and Alisha Edwards. Katie is eliminated as Havok throws Alisha into Kylie. Nevaeh joins her partner Havok in decimating their competition. Rosemary enters next, but moments later John E Bravo re-enters the match, this time dressed as her. Meanwhile, Susie is eliminated. Taya accidentally strikes Rosemary. Havok takes advantage and attempts to eliminate the duo, but Bravo makes the save and tosses her over the the top. Madison is eliminated, followed by Alisha, Nevaeh, and Kiera. Kylie eliminates Kimber with a clothesline, leaving only her, Rosemary, and Taya in the ring. The two work together as Rosemary locks Kylie in the Upside Down. Then shockingly, Taya eliminates her own partner. The referee now enters as the two fight for the pinfall or submission. Finally, Kylie would plant Valkyrie with a stiff Superkick to win.
Heath Miller was one amongst many familiar faces making their presence known tonight. He suddenly appeared after hopping the guardrail and charging the ring with a microphone. After some strong words, he was cut off by Rohit Raju, but Heath would have none of it and sent him packing after a jumping reverse DDT.
4. X-Division Championship | Chris Bey def. Willie Mack (c) These men both came out swinging with unique offense from the start. First, Willie hits Bey with a sick Neckbreaker on the apron. Bey then regains control with a Slingshot Slingblade. With homage to his former friend Johnny Swinger, Bey goes as far as to use his own finisher, the Swinging Neckbreaker. Bey gets caught in mid-air with a sit-out Powerbomb, and an Exploder Suplex into the turnbuckles. Willie looks to finish Bey off with the Stunner, but changes his mind after, heading up top for the Six-Star Frog Splash. Chris Bey avoids the leap, rakes the eyes, and nails The Art of Finesse (Springboard Cutter) to become the new X-Division Champion!
Miller was seen once again later in the night, reuniting with is old pal and tag team partner, Rhino. After exchanging a few words, Scott D'Amore met with the two, only to force Heath to leave the building as he doesn't technically work for the company. Rhino told him it's fine and to come back on Tuesday to meet back up with him.
5. IMPACT! World Tag Team Championships | The North (c) def. Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan Alexander and Shamrock would square off in a submission battle to open the match. The North would take the advantage by cornering Shamrock until he gets the hot tag. Callihan and Page go back and forth as they take each other out with in-sync big boots. The pace quickens until Sami is taken out from the top rope with double team offense. Shamrock wraps the Ankle Lock on Page, while Alexander does the same to Callihan. Page pushes Callihan into Shamrock causing them to argue over the confusion. Shamrock swings a roundhouse kick at Alexander but accidentally hits Callihan instead. Ken would regain control with an avalanche Belly-to-Belly Suplex, then lose it by crashing and burning with a failed dive to the outside. The North go in for the kill, connecting with their signature double team finisher to retain.
Moments after retaining their Tag Team Championships, The North took to the microphone to say that they're the greatest tag team in IMPACT! Wrestling history. Coming off a win earlier in the night, The Motor City Machine Guns interrupted them to disagree. Chris Sabin announces that this Tuesday on IMPACT!, The North will defend the Tag Team Titles against The Motor City Machine Guns!
Gia Miller attempts to get an interview with The Good Brothers, but inside the locker room is Rich Swann who is recovering from injury. He says that once he is cleared to compete, his eye will be on the IMPACT! World Title.
6. Knockouts Championship | Deonna Purrazzo def. Jordynne Grace (c) Grace overpowers Deonna in the early going, causing her to retreat to the outside. The action would continue out there after a dive through the ropes and lays in a flurry of ground and pound. Deonna would work the arms and shoulders of Jordynne until taking her off her feet with a strong clothesline. First Armbar attempt is no good as Grace gets to the ropes. Deonna dominates until Grace builds enough momentum to lock in a submission of her own. Grace doesn’t get all of a Grace Driver because of the damage done to her arm. She then splashes Purrazzo in the corner, but only for a 2 count. Deonna locks in the Double Armbar, forcing Grace to quit, thus becoming the new Knockouts Champion!
On Saturday, October 24th, IMPACT Wrestling returns to pay-per-view with the biggest event of the year, Bound for Glory.
7. Five-Way Elimination Match for the IMPACT! World Championship | Eddie Edwards def. Ace Austin w/ Madman Fulton, Eric Young, Rich Swann and Trey Miguel While we thought that we had seen the last of him for a while, Rich Swann surprised us by ditching the crutches at the top of the stage and made his way to the ring as the fourth entrant in the match. Just as the bell was set to ring, the lights went down and another song hit. This time, we were met by former TNA Heavyweight Champion, Eric Young, announcing he too is now in the match as a fifth entrant. Fulton is quickly ejected from ringside after sending Eddie Edwards crashing into the ring apron. Ace gets taken out by Swann, who is then taken out by Edwards. Trey gets in on the fun, ducks a Clothesline and shoots through the bottom rope to stick Swann with a Destroyer. Eddie goes for the Ace elimination, but is stopped by Trey, who's still a house of fire. The interruption costs him though, and is eliminated by Young via Piledriver. Young Powerbombs Swann into Eddie and Ace, sending them flying off the top through a table on the floor. Another Piledriver attempt, this time to Swann, but it's countered into a roll-up and Eric is out! Young could not believe what had happened and proceeded to take out his frustration on Rich with a steel chair! With an attack so brutal, you would think that Swann would be completely out of action once again, but he fought his way back into the match as much possible could until ultimately being eliminated by Ace Austin. Austin and Edwards are now the last men standing, and fight back and forth to become the new champion. Both men hit their finishes but it's not enough to keep the other down. Eddie manages to catch Ace off guard with Die Hard Flowsion to become the new IMPACT World Champion!
After the match, Madman Fulton attacks Eddie from behind until The Good Brothers finally appear to make the save! They join forces with Eddie and lay out Ace with the Magic Killer. Eddie and The Good Brothers celebrate in the ring with a couple of cold ones. As Josh Mathews and Don Callis are signing off, a video package plays and EC3 appears! Slammiversary goes off the air.

Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee July 21, 2020
The show opens up with a video package featuring Ec3 and his past work in the company. He speaks about fighting the system and believing in yourself because you're the only person that you can trust, no one else. Only you can write your own story. The only way to make history is to CONTROL YOUR NARRATIVE. Those three words appear in the full screen, then the screen quickly glitches out and cuts to the opening IMPACT! vignette.
We're welcomed to the show by Josh Matthews, who is standing aside a familiar face in Don Callis. He mentions that his former colleague, Madison Rayne, has decided to leave the booth to focus on her in-ring career. She said that she can't afford any more distractions and rather than focusing on the work of others, she plans to work on herself to get back into Knockouts title contention. Callis thanks Josh for having him and says that he will remain there indefinitely until a better replacement comes along (which he doubts.)
1. X-Division Championship | Chris Bey (c) def. Willie Mack The opening match of the night is a rematch from Slammiversary seeing Willie Mack attempting to regain what Chris Bey took from him. Willie gets the upper hand early on with fast and furious offense, but Bey's quickness leads to the escape. The two take turns trading shots on the mat into standing blows. Bey with shades of Saturday night, cuts Willie off with a rake to the eyes and a quick pin attempt. Mack rolls to the apron and is met with a Sunset Flip attempt to ringside, but instead flips Bey out and over to the floor. Mack continues the attack outside until sending Bey back in the ring, but he rolls through to the opposite side. Bey cuts him off at the pass with an Enziguiri on the apron, and follows up with a Springboard DDT. Chris keeps momentum on his side for a good chunk of the match but gets too cocky, feeding Willie the comeback. Mack with a handful of maneuvers leaves Bey laying out in the center of the ring. He climbs up top for the Six-Star Frog Splash, but Bey with the recovery goes for a Jumping Frankensteiner. Willie rolls through, but turns around to see Bey charging him. Bey ducks the Clothesline, slides through the legs, leapfrogs, and springboards into The Art of Finesse to get the 3 count.
Back at the booth, Matthews and Callis discuss the video at the end of Slammiversary as well as the one that opened the show regarding EC3. They go on to remind us of tonight's main event for the IMPACT! World Tag Team Championships between The Motor City Machine Guns and The North. Which is followed by a recap of what Eric Young did to Rich Swann Saturday night, and they hope to have an update on Swann's wellbeing as the night progresses.
The Good Brothers, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson make their way to the ring in street attire. They swap off the microphone while discussing how they are the best tag team in the business, and that they are the main reason why #SLAMMIVERSARY was trending worldwide. They're soon interrupted by Ace Austin and his muscle, Madman Fulton. Austin talks some smack as the two enter the ring. He says he's going to give Anderson and Gallows one, and only one chance to apologize for their actions on Saturday. Anderson says the only thing that they will apologize for is not kicking his ass bad enough to keep him from showing up this week. Austin goes for a slick cheap shot, but it's retaliated. The Good Brothers fight he and Fulton off and send them to the back, regretting their decision to appear.
The cameras cut to the backstage area where we see Heath Miller trying to get access inside the building. Security tells him that he's not on the list of people allowed inside which prompts him to make a call. We cut again to the locker room this time, where a cell phone is vibrating for an incoming call. The view pans down to show Rhino laid out on the floor.
Inside what seems to be a private locker room, Chris Bey is being fed nothing but attention by two women. They're interrupted by a knock at the door, which reveals to be none other than Chris' former friend Johnny Swinger. He tells Bey that he's only there to congratulate him as he didn't get a chance to on Saturday. Despite what's happened between the two, he's proud that he could help lead him to championship gold. Bey disagrees and says he merely used Swinger and got to where he's at by his own success. Johnny calls him out on his confidence and challenges him for the title next week, to which Bey accepts.
2. Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz vs Havok and Nevaeh Havok and Nevaeh dominate the first half of the match. Meanwhile, Josh Matthews mentions the Knockouts Tag Team Titles and how despite now being defunct, could soon enough be relevant again with such a stacked women's division. As we progress, Hogan and Steelz use their speed to an advantage and fight back, but it's not enough to match the powerhouse duo. Nevaeh ragdolls Hogan on the outside, slinging her into the barricade while Havok gets the win with a Tombstone Piledriver on Kiera. The two ladies celebrate their win in the ring as Father James Mitchell walks out to the stage applauding their victory.
We now go to the back where Ken Shamrock is seen looking for Sami Callihan. He checks with security and fellow locker room members but is nowhere to be found.
Coming back from commercial break, a short clip is shows revealing that Brian Myers will soon be returning to IMPACT!, though this time it won't be alone.
3. XXXL def. The Deaners Acey and Larry refused to wait for Cody and Jake to even finish their entrances before attacking here. While The Deaners posed in the corner, the two big men took the fight right to them with an onslaught from behind. After a brutal beatdown, D set both men up in the turnbuckles for Romero to squash them with a Big Splash. The referee urged them to stop or face a disqualification, which saw Larry D throwing his hands up and going out to the apron. Jake had already rolled out of the ring, leaving his cousin dropped down in the corner to fend for himself. Despite having the wind knocked out of him, Cody told the ref he could continue, prompting the bell. Acey took no time to bring the fight back to him, by connecting with a running Hip Strike to the face of Deaner. He tags Larry back in to set up for the finish. Acey tosses Deaner up in the air and he falls right into the The Best Hand in the House. D goes for a quick cover and picks up the victory.
Melissa Santos catches up the The North backstage to ask them about their title match tonight. Alexander lets Page do most of the talking, where he puts over how they are the absolute best tag team in the history of IMPACT! He doesn't care what The Good Brothers, The Motor City Machine Guns, or anyone else thinks...They have the track record to prove it. No other team in the company has held the championships for as long as them consecutively, and tonight they're going to send Sabin and Shelley back to the retirement home.
Deonna Purrazzo is seen having the makeup team primp her up, when Kylie Rae greets her. She says that she's so happy to finally meet with Deonna, is such a big fan, and can't wait for their match at Bound For Glory. Purrazzo tries to shrug her off, but Kylie is persistent to the point of getting on her last nerve. Deonna finally smiles and says she can't wait for their match either so she can give her a gift. Kylie gets so excited that Deonna decides to give her the gift now. She suddenly strikes Rae with a slap to the face that leads to a brawl between the two. It finally gets out of hand and officials have to step in to break up the fight.
The new IMPACT! World Champion Eddie Edwards heads to the ring to cut a promo on his journey and how it's led him to this. But now, that journey is over and it's time to start a new one. Unlike the last title holder, he is a fighting champion and plans to prove that by issuing an open challenge every week for as long as he's got the belt. Eric Young's music disrupts him and the two mix words. Young tells him that the only reason he's got that title is because he focused on making Rich Swann suffer instead of him. Eddie is upset at what Young did and the fact that he put his friend Rich back in the hospital. He says Swann may not ever get to wrestle, or even walk again after what Eric did, but he's not getting off easy. Young doesn't need to accept the challenge because Eddie's making it official right now, and next week the two will go head-to-head. Young tells Eddie to count his blessings while he still has them, because next Tuesday, he will be left with nothing more than his last breath.
Melissa Santos is once again standing backstage, but this time is alongside the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Moose. She asks for his thoughts on what Eddie Edwards just said involving the open challenge and Moose is not impressed. He says that Edwards stole the idea from him, and has been handing out opportunities since day one. Not only will he continue to do so, but he will one-up Edwards by not waiting until next week. He's going to defend his title up next against "The War Machine" Rhino.
4. TNA World Heavyweight Championship | Moose def. Rhino via count-out Moose makes another over-the-top entrance, reminding everyone at home that he's the greatest ever, and a wrestling god. He stands in the ring confidently while Rhino's music hits. After a moment it's apparent that Rhino is not coming out. Moose demands that the referee calls for the bell and begin a count-out. The referee seems hesitant until being threatened by the champ. He calls for the bell and makes a swift 10 count, declaring Moose the winner. Moose celebrates as if he's done something incredible when the lights go out. As they come back on, EC3 stands behind him, looking intense. Carter grabs him by the head and shuts him down with the One Percenter. Ethan picks the belt up, staring at what he once held so near and dear, then chucks it down at the incapacitated Moose before exiting the ring.
The Good Brothers are now in the parking lot, looking to leave when they're blindsided by Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. After kicking them while they're down, Ace instructs Fulton to take care of business. He launches Anderson into and over the hood of the car, then proceeds to bring Gallows to his knees. Austin tells him they picked the wrong guy(s) to embarrass on national television and now it's their turn. Madman proceeds to lift him up and sends him head first into the window, shattering the glass, leaving Gallows in a pool of his own blood as they walk away.
Rosemary and Taya are in the locker room arguing over what happened at Slammiversary when John E. Bravo cuts in. He tells them that the bickering isn't worth it and they should settle their differences since neither woman left as champion. The two seem disgusted with his words, leading to Rosemary telling him that he's worthless before walking off. Taya says that while they may not agree with what happened on Saturday, Rosemary is right about one thing in that Bravo is worthless. Valkyrie relieves him of duties on the spot and says she never wants to see him here again. Bravo is left looking defeated as we head to the ring for the main event. 5. IMPACT! World Tag Team Championship | Motor City Machine Guns vs The North (c) ended in a time limit draw. These guys took each another to the absolute limit in this one. Alexander and Sabin started this one out, sizing each other up. Sabin was the first to take control with his speed and quickness, but lost it when Ethan Page distracted the referee from witnessing the much needed tag. He and Alexander took advantage, keeping Sabin as far from Shelley as possible. Sabin finally managed to tag out and get the fresh Alex Shelley in to take The North down a notch. He gave them a taste of their own medicine by introducing Chris back into the fold when he became fresh, stopping The North from catching a breather. Though it started out slow, the pace quickened up as The Machine Guns got the upper hand. With tandem double team offense, Sabin and Shelley came close to victory with multiple near falls. They managed to take Ethan Page down with the Dirt Bomb in what surely would've been it, but Alexander was just in time to break up the 3 count. All hell broke loose when all 4 men went at it inside the ring. As the referee tried to enforce the count out, he was once again distracted by Ethan, which let Alexander get away with as blatant low blow. He followed that up with a TKO which seemed like a sure fire win, but was just a near fall. Sporadically, he tagged out to go set up for their double Neutralizer finish, but Shelley escaped. Sabin entered once again to drop both men simultaneously with the ASCS Rush! Sabin pushed Alexander aside to help his partner score the victory, but the bell rang just as the referees hand was coming down for the 3 count, issuing a time limit draw.
While The Motor City Machine Guns argues the decision, The North managed to escape, grabbing their titles and abruptly leaving the arena as the show faded to black.

Not Another Impact Wrestling Diary. Just kidding. I’ll bite, because it is new life on the board. I can’t say I’m familiar with you, have you been around before? The layouts all look sharp, but that typeface has got to go. Finding myself squinting to read, and I’m not sure if that’s because of the font size, or the font itself. Similar goes for the show reports, I would not hesitate to recommend using colours on the match headers. I see Slammiversary went unchanged, and I believe that’s where we’ll see how your Impact 2020 diary will differ from the other one. Your writing reads pretty nicely, but I would like to see you begin emphasising characters and telling us readers what these dudes are all about. I haven’t watched an episode of Impact in five years, and I’d be lying if I said I was thinking about checking it out anytime soon. Hopefully you can tell us more about what makes these dudes tick in your vision. The first Impact sounded well prepared and decent, so is Moose playing the fake World Champion role as TNA Champion? I’m sure he and Rhino had a great match. I’m curious how EC3 fits into the grand scheme of things. Let’s see what you’ve got, and hope it lasts a while as it clearly shows potential.

Let’s see what you’ve got, and hope it lasts a while as it clearly shows potential. mostly as a reader here, but i i've done a few diaries on other forums in the past. though, this is my first one in years so i'm just getting back into the swing of things. i have to give a huge shout out to ✖ AJ for the layout though. i used his as a template bc i really like the the look of his, so i changed up the colors/headers of course. left the dimensions pretty much the same tho as i really had no idea what i was doing, and hadn't attempted to mess with those before so i played it safe. i personally like the look of the smaller text, but after looking back, i totally get what you're saying about having to squint. so i'll look into changing the font, and maybe switching back to the regular size. i'll definitely add some more color to it as well to help break things up better too. thank you for all that! more character development will be coming for sure, as i have a lot of different stuff ready, it's just a matter of getting there. for now i just wanted to get things set up for that with the first episode, since it's still a pretty similar start to what's currently going on in the company. and yes, moose is essentially a fake champion. he found the old TNA belt and has been defending it as if he's a real world champ, lol. i'm pretty excited about this though, and have plenty of stuff already planned ahead a solid year out. so i don't see myself giving up on this one. thanks again, dude!

Really good show. For context, I watched Slammiversary but before that hadn't watched TNA for years. Not sure about giving away Bey v Mack straight away with no build, maybe this could have been later on in the show? Bey looks a talent and possibly someone you could build a great X Div around. Ace Austin is another talent and sticking him in a feud with the Good Brothers will be good exposure for him so I approve of that feud and booking you done. Eddie Vs Young makes good sense and a good first defence for Eddie whilst still keeping Young a big deal. Love EC3 attacking Moose, makes perfect sense and should be great feud for both me if done right. I would have preferred MCMG to win as I think it was time for new champs but it's a new diary so I can see why you held off to build the feud more. Looking forward to reading more of this as it develops.

A recap package opens the show that takes us back to the start of IMPACT! last week. Clips from EC3's promo intertwine with his surprising return, where he took out Moose following his controversial victory. He looks to have his sights set on championship gold once again, as it seems likely that what Moose has ownership of is a top priority. After that, we're shown The Good Brothers' formal introduction to Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. After once again being embarrassed in the ring, Austin and Fulton took things to another level with a vicious assault in the parking lot that left Gallows a bloody mess. Next up, a highlight reel of the tag team main event is played, featuring the biggest spots of the match. In the end, Shelley surely had his opponent beaten, and was just an inch away from winning the gold. But just as the 3 count was incoming, the match ran out of time, resulting in a draw. Finally, another former world champion in Eric Young makes his IMPACT! return as well. During his time in the arena, he was a lot more vocal about things than Carter was, but wreaked just as much, if not more havoc with the IMPACT! World Champion, Eddie Edwards. After some harsh words between the two, all hell broke loose, forcing officials to come break up the fight. The final moments see Edwards challenging for more, while Young looks on with wild eyes and a bloody-mouthed smile.
Josh Mathews and his new permanent broadcast partner Don Callis welcome us back to the studio. They hype up tonight's card featuring some of the big-time fights scheduled ahead, where we will once again witness multiple championship bouts. Starting things off, Chris Bey is set to defend his X-Division Championship against his former friend and partner Johnny Swinger. Later on, Rob Van Dam makes his in-ring return in what's sure to be a hard-hitting match with Sami Callihan. Then lastly in the main event, we will see a continuation of what started last week, with Eddie Edwards and Eric Young dueling it out for the IMPACT! World Championship. But before all of that, we're told The Motor City Machine Guns are on their way to the ring to with a lot on their minds.
Sabin is first to speak, and says that he's disappointed in the way things ended last week. They were milliseconds away from once again becoming IMPACT! World Tag Team Champions, but just weren't quick enough. He gives The North their due for surviving and retaining, but if they had just one more second, things would've been drastically different. Shelley blames himself for not being fast enough to follow through, but he's certain that he will get them next time. They also don't want to wait very long for said next time, and call out Alexander and Page for a rematch with no time limit! Wasting no time, The North hit the stage, accepting the kind words, but don't give any credit back in return. Page reiterates that The Machine Guns were supposed to be their toughest competition yet, but still couldn't get the job done and don't deserve a rematch handed to them that easily. Alexander says that even though it may have seemed close, there was absolutely no way he was going to give up and would've kicked out, despite what Shelley has to say about it. If The Machine Guns want another shot, they're going to have to get back in line with everybody else. The North has done it all, beat them all, and continues to make history with the longest tag title reign the company has ever seen. That being said, they deserve a break for their hard work. No one is currently worthy enough to fight for the straps, and instead, will have to prove themselves all over. Beginning next week, every team get a chance to start fresh in what is being referred to as the Road to Glory Tag Team Tournament. Over the next few weeks, each tag team in the company will have their chance to fight their way to a title shot at Bound for Glory. Everyone is getting an opportunity, and they're even willing to give The Machine Guns a bit of a head start, by telling them to go ahead and start preparing now, as they'll be kicking off the tournament in the first match. Page wishes them luck, before leaving the stage with his fellow champion.
"Well there you have it folks, The Motor City Machine Guns will be the first of many in tournament action next week! We'll keep you posted on the brackets as more information becomes available." says Mathews. Callis jumps in to tell us how he thinks this is a very smart and rightful move by the champs. "Take much deserved some time off, let the competition wear themselves down, and once again at Bound for Glory, show all the doubters why they are the best in the world. Speaking of the best, I'm being told that Ethan Carter the Third has just been seen entering the building! Hopefully Moose doesn't find him back there because that's sure to be a fight that would take an army to break up."
1. X-Division Championship | Chris Bey (c) def. Johnny Swinger As the bell rang, Swinger stuck his hand out in what looked to be a sign of respect. As Bey went to accept the handshake, Johnny roped him in and knocked him down with a Clothesline. Swinger played it smart by trying to keep a slower pace, knowing what Chris is capable of when he gets going. After working the legs for a bit, Swinger clutches Bey's leg, but he flips over with an Enzuigiri to escape the grasp. The match doesn't take long to speed up after this, as Bey is able to connect with a multitude of fast paced aerial offense. Swinger tries to keep up, but to no avail. Bey hits the ropes, then with the misdirection, switches to a different side of the ring. He flies past Johnny and leaps to the middle rope, then brings him crashing down on his face with The Art of Finesse and snags the pinfall. Swinger pounds his fists down on the mat in frustration. Bey smiles and offers him a hand, but slyly pulls away when Johnny reaches out. He makes his way up the ramp, still smiling as Swinger throws a fit in the ring.
Ken Shamrock is finally able to catch up with his partner, Sami Callihan, after having some trouble doing so last week. He asked Sami what was up, as he looked all over the building for him most of the night. Callihan said he must have just missed him, as he had some business to take care of, and needed to head out early. Shamrock says he wanted to talk to him about how things went down at Slammiversary, but Callihan says he just doesn't have the time tonight, as he has a match coming up soon with Rob Van Dam. Sami says they can talk all about it next week, as he also wants to work together on a game plan for the upcoming tag tournament. Sami pats Ken on the back and exits the locker room.
Rhino is looking around backstage for any kind of info he can get on who attacked him last week. As he turns the corner, he bumps in to his pal Heath Miller. Rhino asks him what he's doing there, and Heath responds by telling him how he had to pay off someone just to distract security allowing him a chance to get in. He reminds Rhino of how he was supposed to help him get access to the venue last week, but completely blew off his phone call, and figured face to face was his only option. Rhino asks if he has even been paying any attention as to what's going on around here, then explains how he was jumped from behind. Miller apologizes and says he had no idea that happened. Rhino tells Heath that he was actually in the middle of trying to put some of the pieces together when he bumped into him. Miller offers to help him out, but reminds him that they need to keep a low profile so he won't get kicked out again.
Ace Austin and Madman Fulton are hanging out in the parking lot, in the same area where they beat down The Good Brothers. Austin looks into the camera, priding himself and Fulton on their work last week, and says he can still see the stains of Gallows' blood. He challenges the two to come back for more once they're finished licking their wounds. If they need even more of an incentive to hurry back, he heard that there's a tag team tournament starting soon, and is sure they'd be a welcome addition. He and Fulton would love to give them another beating, especially in an official capacity. He hopes to see them again soon.
2. The Rascalz def. Desi Hit Squad (w/ Gama Singh) The Hit Squad were first to take control in what was being considered a warm-up match for the Road to Glory Tournament. The Rascalz certainly couldn't match their strength, but used their speed and agility to get back into the fight. Dez was able to chop Raj down long enough to climb the top rope. He shot off the ropes with an attempt at the Final Flash, but rolled through as it was avoided, to get the hot tag to Wentz. He came in hot, taking down the big man, then knocked Shera off the apron with a Bicycle High Knee. While his back was turned, Raj came running in to splash him in the corner, but Wentz stepped aside at the last second and spiked him with a Poisonrana. Meanwhile, Dez swung himself around the post, and soared off the apron and onto Shera with a Running Shooting Star. Back in the ring, as Raj was getting back to his feet, Wentz rebounded off the ropes with a full head of steam to jump up and make him Bite the Curb for the 123.
Rosemary is pacing back and forth in a dark room, seemingly getting warmed up for her match with Kylie Rae, when Taya Valkyrie enters. She looks a little creeped out by the environment, before asking Rosemary how she's doing. Taya says she just wanted to come apologize for everything that's happened the last few weeks. She feels that Bravo was much to blame for everything, and now that he's gone, she believes the two can get back on track. Rosemary looks her up and down as if to assume she's up to something before deciding to accept the apology. Valkyrie seems very excited that they're cool again, and says she wants to continue rebuilding the bridge by accompanying Rosemary to the ring for her match tonight. Rosemary tells her that she'll allow it, but Taya should try to stay out of the way.
Heath and Rhino are still wandering around the back, looking for answers, when they meet again with Scott D'Amore. Heath tries to hide his face, but D'Amore doesn't fall for it. He asks Heath why he's here and how did he get in? Miller tells him "Look man, that's not important. What is important is my best friend's wellbeing and THAT'S why I'm here. I'm trying to help him find the person that blindsided him last week for no reason!" Scott is understanding but reiterates what he said at Slammiversary about Heath not working for the company. As Scott begins to tell him that he needs to leave again, it seems that a light bulb turned on in his head. Scott tells Heath that he admires his will to keep showing up, and can respect the fact that he's helping a friend in need. Instead of kicking him out, he wants Heath to come with him to the office to discuss a few things and a potential job. Miller is overjoyed with excitement and tells Rhino he'll be back to help him as soon as he's done doing business. Rhino seems content with that and tells him to do what he needs to feed his kids.
3. Sami Callihan def. Rob Van Dam (w/ Katie Forbes) As usual, Van Dam was overly confident from the get-go. He used his vast knowledge and ring presence to outsmart Sami for a good portion of the match. As Sami clearly becomes more and more frustrated, Van Dam pokes the bear once too many times by taunting him with his signature 'R-V-D' pose. Just as he gets to the second letter, Callihan nearly decapitates him with a Bicycle Kick to the face, and a sick Deadlift Saito Suplex after. From then on, he never took his foot off the pedal, laying into Rob with everything he had. Every time Van Dam even tried to get back up, Sami would stiff him with yet another kick to the ribs. The referee had many close calls as the match went on, threatening to disqualify Callihan as he wouldn't allow him to check on RVD. Sami had the match already won after dropping Rob on his head with the Cactus Special '97, but he decided that still wasn't enough. He pulled Van Dam by the ponytail as far from the ropes as possible before locking him up in the Stretch Muffler. With no other choice but to tap out, Rob gave in and Sami was declared the victor. Refusing to let go after the bell, the referee once again tried to step in to force him off, but Callihan wouldn't stop. That was until Katie Forbes entered the ring and started pulling Sami by the hair. He stood up with a twisted grin, and yanked her head back by the hair. He told her that she had made a crucial mistake, and now it's time to pay. He jammed her head between his legs, looking to potentially break her neck with another Piledriver, before Ken Shamrock's music hits and he comes to make the save. He makes Sami let go and asks if he's lost his mind. Callihan just laughs him off and pushes Ken to the side as he heads up the ramp, still with a sick look on his face.
Melissa Santos is standing by with Nevaeh and Havok to discuss their win from last week, when Father James Mitchell intervenes. He sincerely apologizes to Melissa for his lack of manners, but informs her that these two monsters are needed elsewhere. There are matters at hand involving them that are certainly much more important than the silly little questions she has prepared on her cue cards. At first they look confused, but it's as if they enter a trance after looking Mitchell in the eyes. He says that he's got a deal in store for them that they cannot refuse, leading them to follow his sinister laugh off camera.
Moose makes his way into the arena, dressed like a million bucks from head to toe. He remembers what happened last week, when EC3 decided to attack him after yet another successful title defense. He says he doesn't have time for childish games, and knows that Carter is here, so he might as well come out now instead of making Moose come find him. The lights go down, but instead of his infamous 'Trouble' theme, a new song titled 'The Narrative' hits. Looking as intense as ever, EC3 accepts the call out and remains staring daggers through Moose until he gets a chance to speak. He keeps the microphone at his side as he stands across from the heavyweight champ, allowing him to finish. Moose says at first he didn't know what he ever did to Ethan to deserve being cheap shotted from behind, but he's a smart enough man to realize now that he has something that Carter wants. The TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Moose claims that he's always ready to give a shot at it to the people he finds deserving of it, but doubts that EC3 is worthy based off of his previous actions. Though it took some real balls to come out here and stand before him, a real man wouldn't have had to catch him off guard the way he did. "You see, I am the most powerful man in this company and this industry. Not only in size, but in fame, fortune, and with all the gold a man could ever need. I'm the reason people tune in to watch every week. I'm the reason that IMPACT! Wrestling is still relevant. I'm the one that everyone in the back looks up to, and comes to for guidance because I'm the one at the top of the food chain. You can travel the world in search of a replacement, but there's no one else like me, and no one will ever top me, because I AM A WRESTLING GOD!" EC3 finally breaks and can't help but chuckle. "Are you done? Are you finished reading us your fairy tale that you call a life? You talk so much about being A man, or being THE man, when you're not even a man yourself. You're just a stupid child in a grown man's body, playing make believe out here with a championship that you don't, nor will you ever, deserve. You've played out your fantasy for long enough, and now it's time for me to change the story. Now, it's my turn. It's my turn to shut you up once and for all, and give you the dose of reality that you've been needing for far too long. You don't think I'm deserving of a title shot? Need I remind you that I'm a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, whereas you're just an idiot in a headband that found it and decided it was yours. The only reason you ever even had the opportunity the touch that championship is because I wasn't here. But now that I am, I'm going to take it from you. I'm going to take that title, your so called "fame", your so called "fortune". I will take every single thing you have to your name and set it on fire, just to watch you crumble. It's time things changed around here. Taking wannabes like you out of the equation is just the beginning. From there, I take back my crown, and claim my kingdom. I'm going to prove to everyone that has ever tried to control me, that I cannot and will not be stopped from controlling my own narrative. I am the guy that you build your company around. I am the guy that leads companies to the promised land. As far as I'm concerned, there's only one "Wrestling God" in this ring right now, and you're looking at him. Moose retorts with a slow clap, telling Ethan that while he talks a good game, he's still not impressed. Quite frankly, Carter hasn't been relevant since 2017, and his time has passed him by. Moose tells him the only way he gets a shot, is if EC3 comes out here, week after week, just as he does, and puts on 5 star match of the year candidates. He also explains that he doesn't even see the big deal about EC3, or understand the hype, because the only impressive thing he's done in the last three years is hold up a red plastic cup for weeks on end. Carter smirks and rubs his beard, looking down momentarily. Then busts Moose across the jaw with a right hand. Punch after punch, kick after kick, Moose folds as he's backed into the ropes. He escapes the onslaught, grabs his title and keeps a death grip on it as he flees. EC3 stands tall over the ropes, salivating for more, as Moose shouts "This isn't over!"
Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes are being checked out in the trainers room, when they're visited by Willie Mack. He asks how they're feeling, and despite a few bumps and bruises, luckily they're not too bad off. Willie seems relieved as he tells Van Dam that he's always been one of his wrestling heroes, growing up. While they've had their differences in the past, he'd love to help RVD seek revenge for Sami's despicable actions tonight. Mack asks if Van Dam has heard about the upcoming tournament and is certain that Callihan's gonna be taking part in it. Rob tells him that's a great idea, and very cool for him to step up like that. Rob's definitely down to team up with him, and winning the tag titles will just be a sweet bonus.
4. Kylie Rae def. Rosemary (w/ Taya Valkyrie) Prior to their entrances, the Knockouts Women's Champion, Deonna Purrazzo made her presence felt by joining Mathews and Callis on commentary. She said she wants to keep an eye on her challenger and learn everything she can to prevent her from winning at Bound for Glory. Kylie seems slightly hesitant at the start of the match, a bit intimidated by Rosemary's looks. She reluctantly sticks her hand out for a friendly handshake, but slowly takes it back when it's apparent Rosemary wants nothing to do with her antics. A solid back and forth bout saw Kylie nearly steal a pin via roll-up when Taya got involved, accidentally distracting Rosemary. Though that wouldn't be the last time we'd see Taya, as on multiple occasions she was caught tripping up Kylie from under the ropes, distracting both women, as well as the referee who put her on her last strike. Kylie would finally show off a more aggressive side, when she had enough of the shenanigans. She was able to regain momentum especially with a Superkick to Rosemary, and a Suicide Dive onto Valkyrie immediately after. As she got back inside, she then managed to wrap Rosemary up in the Charity Case to go for the win. Rosemary clawed and clawed her way to the ropes, just out of arm's reach of the bottom one, when out of nowhere Taya came back in and started stomping on Kylie. Rae was officially announced the winner by disqualification, but that didn't stop Valkyrie form continuing. She welcomed Rosemary to jump in, who instead pushed her partner back a few feet and began to argue. Taya says she was getting payback on her, as Kylie jumped onto her for no reason. Besides, she was sure Rosemary was about to tap out and wanted to save her from looking like a loser. As the tension rose, it looked as if the two were about to come to blows when Kylie Dropkicked Rosemary into Taya, and fled the scene. The champion laughed at the miscommunications between the two prior to her exit from the booth. The unlikely duo remained at odds with one another until we suddenly cut to the back.
The screen goes in and out of focus as the cameraman is running down an aisle way. He finally is able to reveal a group of officials and Tommy Dreamer surrounding a downed Rhino. Dreamer seems to take charge, urging someone, anyone to get some help and call an ambulance. He stays calling out Rhino's name, but it looks as if he's out cold and unresponsive.
As we return to the studio, Callis and Mathews are in disbelief as Rhino has been attacked for the second week in a row for reasons unknown, and still, attacker unknown. They've received word that the paramedics are transported him to the nearest hospital, and he's wished a speedy recovery. Switching gears, we're now informed that the official details of the Road to Glory Tag Team Tournament have been released, and read as followed: 12 tag teams will enter in Round 1 for 6 single elimination bouts. Round 2 proceeds under the same rules, but with only the 6 teams that made it through the first round. Round 3 is where things start to get interesting, as the 3 winning teams from the second round will face off in a Tag Team Triple Threat. The team that takes the pinfall or submission is eliminated from the tournament, with the remaining 2 teams to fight the week after. The winners of that match will have earned their title match against The North at Bound for Glory.
5. IMPACT! World Championship | Eddie Edwards (c) def. Eric Young Eddie wasting no time, as he took the fight to Young before he could even enter the ring. Edwards got a running start and landed on top of EY at the bottom of the ramp with a Plancha. The brawl led to the barricade and didn't take long to boil over to the other side. Young looked for an escape and made his way back up onto the stage before Eddie. Then delivered a huge boot to the jaw as Edwards was climbing up. Young pulled him up onto the stage by his ears, then sent Eddie face first into the giant LED board. The referee pleaded with Young to bring it inside or the match would be thrown out. He obliged, and forced Eddie in the ring for the bell to sound and officially begin the match. Young clearly had the ball in his court for quite some time at this point, as Eddie's eyes were glazed over due to the shots to the head. EY went on to wrap Edwards up in the Figure-Four Leglock. With his shoulders down, and slowly fading, the referee was forced to count the pin. But Eddie somehow found a second wind and would not give up! He even found the strength to turn the submission over, thus putting the pressure on Eric now! Eddie was finally able to fight his way back into the match, pulling off a handful of his signature maneuvers, but they just weren't enough to put the challenger away. As a last resort, he went back to ringside and pulled a table out from underneath. After setting it up on the outside floor, he went to slide back in the ring, but Young got to his feet first. EY was looking for the ender with a Spike Piledriver, but Eddie was able to flip him over the rope and onto the apron, narrowly avoiding the table. He charged back at EY, but was met with a straight kick directly to the gut, doubling him over. Young once again went for the pin with a Sunset Flip, but Edwards rolled through! He threw a Shining Wizard that JUST missed Eric, when he dropped down to avoid it. Bouncing chest first off of the ropes, Eddie falls back into Young's grasp where he goes for a Belly-to-Back Suplex. Eddie once again is able to roll through, grabbing Eric from behind and slamming him down to the mat with a Back Suplex Sit-out Facebuster, and a Boston Knee Party immediately after! He flops down into the pin, 1...2...3!
David Penzer declares Eddie Edwards STILL the IMPACT! World Champion, after a very hard fought battle. The referee helps Edwards to his feet as Young rolls out and to the floor. On spaghetti legs, one arm is held up in the air by the referee, as the other holds up the championship. Edwards staggers his way over to the corner where he climbs atop the middle rope to raise both arms in the air. As the camera pans back, Eric Young has managed to produce a baseball bat. Edwards has no idea, and gets blasted with the bat, right on the spine. Young looks absolutely insane, and starts laughing maniacally. He raises the bat up once more, but the referee intervenes and tries to pull it away. Young would have none of it though, quickly spiking the ref with a Piledriver. He stood over Edwards momentarily before cracking him once more for good measure. EY almost forgot about the table before it caught his eye. As he dragged Eddie out to the apron, more officials and some of the roster came running out to stop him, but to no avail. Young does a cutthroat gesture, and jumps off the apron, Piledriving Edwards right through the table. Everyone gathers around to pull them out of the pile of wood, Young seems unfazed, while Edwards looks almost lifeless. Eric Young is pulled away by a group of people, laughing once again at his carnage as the show closes.

July 28 edition of Impact Wrestling: got to say, I’m still not a fan of the font. I think it might be the italics that bothers me. Some italics can be good, and I get what you’re aiming for by differentiating between the segment type. But yeah, I would limit the italics some more. I like the idea of a tag team tournament to determine who faces the North next for the Impact World Tag Team Championships. I’m not familiar with the North in the slightest, but clearly the Motor City Machine Guns have an axe to grind with them coming off of being cheated out of the titles last week. Hopefully it doesn’t appear so formulaic, and MCMG don’t win the contender’s tournament. Chris Bey is only a name I’ve heard much about, but Johnny Swinger sounded like an ideal candidate to be beaten by the Impact X-Division Champion. Rhino and Heath reuniting was a nice move, but as a tag team I feel like Heath could drop the surname. The Rascalz over Desi Hit Squad…I could do with some more information or character development on these guys. The videos are an interesting touch, I suspect to build for the Impact World Championship angle later? Some formatting issues with line changes in that segment that could have been edited easily. Sami Callihan over Rob Van Dam actually sounds like a fun match, though granted RVD is not the performer he was years ago. Still, I liked the idea of Katie Forbes nearly suffering a similar fate, and Ken Shamrock being the voice of reason is an interesting call, considering his character’s history of having a short fuse. EC3 coming back for the old TNA World Heavyweight Championship makes perfect sense, and I do like the idea of EC3’s new character being used to wisely counteract Moose’s egomaniacal routine. I suspect that’s the direction for the next big show, whether that be a future Impact Wrestling show or Bound For Glory in a few months. I’m interested in seeing how you pace these angles out across several months. Willie Mack coming to check on RVD makes sense and builds to the obvious tag team match next week. Very textbook booking. Kylie Rae landed on her feet after leaving AEW I see. Miscommunications between Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie will bode well for a future story. Ah okay, Rhino got laid out. And no Heath, but Tommy Dreamer around to help? I suspect Heath will have been behind this one. Alright, I see what you were going for with the videos now. Eddie Edwards overcoming Eric Young to retain the Impact World Championship was a strong main event for you to use. Young reverting to a sadistic almost-ultraviolent loser after the match was a cool conclusion to the show too. That said, it felt similar to the Sami Callihan story. Overall, it wasn’t a bad Impact. There were parts I didn’t understand that could have used a little explanation, but again I don’t follow the product. A few names missing from this show that I’m sure will pop up next week. You’re getting used to the building blocks, and hopefully in the next month or so of shows we will see you distance from any real life tropes or directions.

You have a great writing style. Liking Callis as a permanent commentators, although Josh was awful when I've listened in. I love a good Tournament so the tag one will be goodm wonder if you will bring anyone in for it? Bey retaining again, two weeks in a row. Strong start. All these backstage segments are done so well and move on the feuds so nicely. That EC3/Moose segment was long but great. Wild to give away EY challenging for the belt on TV but it is a good finish. Looking forward to the next show.
