Only issues I run into are loose waists and ab crunch joints. And those are pretty rare.

Jakks never had these kind of QC issues, but Jakks also was a far inferior product in terms of deco, accuracy, accessories, and detail. Mattel is definitely having a lot of QC issues lately, though, possibly due to how much they’re producing and selling. Jakks had the shoulder problems in the RA figures from 06 onward when they replaced the t on the end of the shoulder joint with a flimsy sliver of rubber inside the torso. I lost a lot of figures to that sh*t. I’ll definitely give you that one. I was speaking more in terms of paint app issues, but Jakks absolutely had the shoulder problem. I never knew that was the reason why. I had SO MANY figures fall victim to this.

The only reason I knew about it was because I'd been doing parts swaps since the TTL days and when my ECW S1 CM Punk's arm came off I was like "where's the ing T shape on the end of this?" and I saw the little rubber thing they put in there. I got the Orton/Orndorff/Piper 3-pack and out of the box the Piper and Orndorff had loose shoulders. I still had my CS fig fed at the time and realized most of the new figures I wanted were gonna be really prone to breaking if I moved their arms too much and I kinda stopped collecting for a while.

That Punk is the first figure that came to mind when you mentioned this issue. I remember mine having it basically fresh out of the packaging. Then I remember my CS DDP’s arm falling off and me having to pretend he got injured in my fig fed until I could find another 😂

I have issues with loose joints from time to time. Paint apps are usually decent.
