I think you are going to see a different strategy regarding Hogan releases this time around. Mattel got burned last time around, they had many figures in various stages of development (and likely production as well) when the scandal broke- all those had to be scrapped, costing them $$ and caused a major headache for Bill who was scrambling to make changes to lineups. I don't expect you will see them going all out, they will likely stagger the releases and only release the figures that are most in demand (Mega Powers, Python Power 80s Hogan, 2002 return, WCW Hogan & Hollywood Hogan). This is the best approach from a business standpoint as they don't want to get burned a second time if something else were to happen.

I'm very hopeful that one of the reasons they brought back the legends line is because with AEW in the figures game WWE actively seeked out various legends to get them signed to deals before the competition could. They probably can't name or reveal any newer faces because they wouldn't be ready for another 6 to 12 months. Here's hoping.
They announced Greg Valentine and Chyna at last year's Comic Con- a full year before their release. This was the one thing that was missing from this year's panel, at the end they usually show renders of stuff that is in development or stuff coming down the pipe- this year there was nothing. One reason for this might be the uncertainty around whether this line will continue- there has been no announcement of a renewal and Bill & Co. cannot plan out future waves and series if they don't know if the line will continue. They usually plan stuff a year out but thus far I don't believe they have mentioned anything about 2022?!
As far as new legends, I think the time for that has come and gone. WWE have all the big names signed (except for Sting) and these are likely the only legends they care about because these are the ones that make them $$ (due to their popularity). Most of the remaining legends that people are asking for are those that are either not on good terms with McMahon or legends that don't want to sign a legends deal. An AEW legends line would allow some of these guys to be made, Jazzwares is a smaller company and will likely sign legends to simple merchandise deals in exchange for their likeness- no strings attached.

I'm happy to see that Mattel is pumping out Hogans... When Summerslam Miss Elizabeth was announced we were all like "Mega Powers gotta be the next 2 pack." We got a US title that comes with 2 not so good figures instead. Many were speculating on which Hogans we'd see. Python Power, Wrestlemania 7, Rip from No Holds Barred and the workout Hogan they showed a few years back just to name a few. I like the Dibiase and Beefcake figs they showed. The Wrestlemania 3 and 6 ring carts are awesome. The MOTU figs of Mr. T and Jake are must buys for me. There was some good things shown for sure but... ...but where is Hogan? I wasn't expecting every Hogan ever, but I thought for sure we'd see more than this. Maybe they still have more to show, but I would imagine if they did, they would have shown it already. Again, not a bad showing. Its just heavily lacking in the Hogan department. There’s gonna be more Hogans next year but not at the same time as the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate is for Q1 2020, and the rumored Legends 10 Hogan would be in Quarter 2, then there’s probably more coming after that stil

What big legends are left that Mattel hasnt made yet? All of the huge names have already been made. Not many left and some of these are not on the level of Hogan, Flair, Sting, etc Steiner Jarrett (still in court) Owen (never going to happen) Raven Sandman Sabu Taz (AEW) Fabulous Freebirds Pedro Morales (unlikely) Buddy Rogers (unlikely) Benoit (never should or will ever happen)

People like what they like, everyone has their favourites- what is wrong with that exactly?!
I wanted Rick Martel, Haku & Hercules figures but we didn't get any of them- are you saying I should be happy instead that we are getting a Mae Young figure that I don't give a crap about??

Again, not a bad showing. Its just heavily lacking in the Hogan department. SDCC usually shows us what's coming for the rest of the year and a little of the next year. UE Hogan hits RSC hopefully before the holidays, you probably don't want to cut too deeply into those sales by also showing another figure coming a little later. They didn't show a follow up Savage in 2010, just the DM. They didn't show a followup Chyna last year, just the one that came with HHH.

You already know the answer is "yes you should be forced to kneel at the altar of Bill and Steve every day, twice a day".

Two separate things: 1. I was referring to the amount of figures. There were a couple comments about being disappointed in the amount of legends/flashbacks shown. There were a lot shown. 2. It’s okay to be disappointed that specific wants aren’t shown, but at the same time it must be understood that a lot of specific wrestlers people want simply can’t be made due to not having a deal with WWE.

Aren’t there supposed to be reveals today? I see zilch! I think they accidentally (or intentionally) did 2 reveals yesterday hence the silence today. Which sucks because its predictable that tomorrow will be just basics and, if that is so, no more elites right now

I don't blame Bill or Steve, they are just doing their job. We really don't know what is going on behind the scenes so I don't think its fair to lash out or personally attack either guy.
The ones to blame are the toxic elements on here (trolls and Mattel shills) that worship at the altar of Mattel and want you to like everything they release whether you have any interest in it or not. Everyone has a right to an opinion, good or bad and no one has a right to prevent someone from expressing said opinion just because they don't agree with it.
How are we to know who can and can't be made- Mattel doesn't give out any such information which is one of the frustrating things about this hobby (distribution being the other). Your are left in the dark, waiting and wondering if this wrestler or that wrestler will get a release. I think most of the blame for this lies with WWE not Mattel- they are the ones who have control over who gets made and who doesn't. It would be nice to know which wrestlers have a very low probability of ever getting made either because WWE is not interested in signing them to a deal or because the wrestler/estate won't sign a deal for whatever reason.

Figures we've seen for the absolute first time over the past few days:

E80: Bayley Ricochet O'Reilly (Chase) Owens Rocky (Target Exclusive)
E81: Bianca Dawkins Ford Austin Mae (WM Exclusive)
E82: Alexa Lawler Keith (Chase) JoMo Gronk Davey Boy (WM Exclusive)
E83: King Corbin
E84: Garza Ripley Kushida
E87: Candice
SvS: Drew Kane JoMo Joe
WM Elite: Chyna Oldberg Edge HBK Ellering with Rocco (BAF)
Ultimate Edition: Fiend Macho Edge

Elite 2 Packs: Bret/Goldberg Mr. T/Roddy Piper

So by my count that is 14 First Time in the Line, 27 Legends/Flashbacks, 16 NXT, 3 new belts. But yeah, Mattel hasnt shown us anything good this year. This is also not including the MOTWWEU line and updated images of things we've only previously seen renders of.

Not sure why you're so adamant about defending Mattel, but quantity and quality are not the same thing. Reactions are subjective. People are allowed to like or dislike as they please. The two first time flashbacks are Rocky Johnson, who was irrelevant by the mid 80's, and Mae Young, who aside from being a comedy character during the Attitude Era stopped wrestling in 1969. I don't think I'm the only one who would have liked to see more relevant new characters to add to our collection. If you like what you saw, great. But those who didn't see much of interest aren't obliged to throw Mattel a ticker tape parade.

We all know that Mattel cannot go out and sign whoever they want. They have to work with what is given to them. So we're not gonna see guys like Haku, Hercules, Dino Bravo, Sandman, Raven, etc until they're under contract. People on these boards have been begging for a Stunning Steve for years. We're finally getting one. Begging for a New Gen Lawler. He's coming. Begging for an elite DiBiase in a molded suit. We're getting 2. Begging for WCW belts. We're getting the US and Tag. Begging for a neon cowboy Macho. We're getting an Ultimate Edition. We're getting a lot of figures we've been asking for and yet its still not good enough.

Yes it's pretty much all up to WWE being able to sign people. AFA has stated several times that if someone has a deal, it's highly likely they will get a figure out for them.

we need an updated apollo crews elite, short g would be nice, updated sheamus, but they give us in rob gronkowski lmaoooo so bad, im glad all the instagram comments absolutely crap on it. why not MVP? dude's part of a main stable on raw right now. so stupid. MVP would be an awfully quick turnaround on getting a figure out. It’s only been a handful of months for him back on TV. It’s possible that he may not even be under a deal that would make a figure possible at this time. its been longer than gronk lol
