Rogue from the 2016 X-Men wave. Widely distributed figure. Relatively easy to find, actually was on clearance some places as recent as late ‘17-Early ‘18 is now going for about $180 MOC/MIP. Spider-Man from the 2015 Hobgoblin Build A Fig wave, commonly known as “Pizza Spidey (due to having a plastic slice of Pizza with the figure along with like 3 sets of interchangeable hands and an extra head that has the mask pulled up over his nose exposing his mouth) which was a general release in late 2015-early 2016, commonly goes for over 100 in package The spider villains (especially the Goblins and BAFs like Lizard, Rhino and Kingpin) go for a pretty penny each. And that TRU exclusive Dark Phoenix two pack is VERY pricey too. That's why I always bite the bullet and get the ones I can't find at retail online as soon as I can, the most sought after Legends usually never go down in price. and another thing. Ordered AoA wave from a smaller comic store on eBay that are pretty good early on as well as keeping an eye on other sites that do preorder (all the common “Fan Channel” sites) and got my Age of Apocalypse wave from them yesterday. Rolled the dice like I did with the X-Men Juggy wave and X-Men Warlock wave and they got them in before any of the big places did (They tied with CMD for Apocalypse wave...but I got two anyway and used the second Apocalypse to display with the Claw hand that came with Deluxe Archangel and gave the rest of the wave away). The wave is amazing in person.

Black Series are starting to creep up in price too. I bought the Qui gon jinn/Tuskgen Raider wave for $60 on spamS, and those figs are averaging $70/$45 alone today.

Personally I’m hoping the secondary market gets oversaturated and prices drop. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be happening. The opposite seems to be actually

A lot of the Legends I have correspond with the comics. Like my last year working for the company saw the release of titles like Silk #1 and Spider-Gwen #1 so when those Legends came out, I bought them. The Silk figure is amazing. Marvel Legends since late ‘14 have been. Hasbro was in the dark ages but then when they started to bring them back in 2012 they gradually got better up to now. It seems Iike an unstoppable train.

The opposite seems to be actually It’s happening in cards too. ‘86 Fleer Jordan was steadily going up after being stagnant at 800 for a PSA or BGS 8 back in 2012. Now PSA or BGS 7s are going for 2500-3500 and PSA or BGS 8 are going for 4000-5000 in some cases. Part of that is that it was rising, part of it is the huge toy and collectible boon that happened since the Pandemic hit us all, and of course a big part due to “The Last Dance”

That's why I always bite the bullet and get the ones I can't find at retail online as soon as I can, the most sought after Legends usually never go down in price. I preorder by the wave. No regrets. And I’m in for any Comic book based figure. Plus Hasbro will do make goods and will actually check the secondary market (they’ve admitted to this) to see what figures are sought after and schedule them for re-paint. Rogue in that style will come back out with a different headsculpt and either duller or shiner paint scheme on her green on the uni to get people to double dip. Hasbro has gotten really clever giving us what we want. I'm in the same boat, skip MCU 99% of the time (I think the only time I bit was with Thanos' minions). I really appreciate Hasbro making an effort to complete teams, the Alpha Flight boxset may not have been their best seller, but it was a day one preorder for me. I'm glad we're getting Storm to complete the Byrne/Claremont era X-Men, are almost done with Havok's X-Factor, and hope they start to tackle Excalibur soon!

Prices are rising but eventually people won’t pay them and there will be more available. That’s my action figure economic theory though, grain of salt

I think prices are bound to come back down
