I was looking on eBay recently at the Legends series from 2010 & noticed that the prices for most of these Moc figures have soared....I have the ones I want with the exception of Road Warrior Animal but my questions are why are the prices so high for these & will they be as sought after Moc in 10-20 more years as the Ljn figures from the 80s are now? I realize the series was canceled but from the pics I’ve seen of the upcoming early crow Sting package it looks like it may be resurrected

Supply and Demand. They are 10 years old, more collectors are looking for them now and MOC are scarce. Waves 4 and 5, I never saw in stores in my area. If Mattel Elite is still the standard in the future, then the figures should retain or increase in value.

If someone buys it, and someone else buys it, and someone else buys it ... people will continue to list them at that price.

Doesn't help that certain popular wrestlers (Rick Martel, Demolition, Texas Tornado, Kevin Von Erich etc) have their one and only Mattel figures in the Legends line

And since the whole lock down has happened, figure prices have gone up more.

And since the whole lock down has happened, figure prices have gone up more. People are trying to sell to afford stuff I guess; and others are price gouging to take advantage of the higher prices

10 years old Some of the talent is no longer available and may never again be available like (Akeem, Martel, etc) The legends line is coming back but that doesn’t mean these older figures will get cheaper or remade.

Martel was in 2K19, he might not be made today but they’ll probably make another one someday. Demolition and Snuka are the least likely to get new figures imo Demolition have had problems with WWE forever but they got figures probably because Jakks & Mattel signes them individually. But Mattel don’t do that anymore. DDP, Jake, Arn, & Tully won’t be getting anymore WWE figures unless they leave AEW. Hillbilly Jim & Akeem seem like longshots at being re-signed. Although maybe they’d sign Akeem to finally release that One Man Gang. Bundy would likely be made again if they signed him. They should mold them singlet on this time. And it’d be funny if he came with a computer or a coding book or something. Vader needs a new figure with the V hands. I think we can pretty safely say the “never ever” list has at least three names on it: Benoit, Snuka, & the Blue Blazer.

I think some of the current legends deals will eventually expire and we are gonna end up with just stone colds, rocks, and Hogans.

And I’d be fine with just repaints for a little while to be honest. Hogan has a lot of looks to do and they’ve still not made a 2002 Rock or 1998 Undertaker

Same with Hillbilly Jim. People used him to make Hogan, Goldberg, I think Bruiser Brody, and others. Kevin Von Erich was used for barefoot Snukas; Bulldog torsos were used to correct Sting

Also, Hillbilly Jim was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame not too long ago, so I can see him being resigned.

In my opinion, this increase in value is physiological, 10 years have passed. But I'm glad that the Legends series is continuing today!

My guess is that they'll maintain or keep going up, but honestly you just never know. All it takes is a few of those guys re-signing Legends contracts and having new figs or rereleases coming out to see those prices plummet. I sold a bunch of my doubles once they hit 100/150 range (like the Von Erichs) and have no regrets even if they skyrocket.
I feel like a ton of Jakks figs (including classics) have dropped due to all the interest in Mattel so who really knows, lol. It can go both ways.

man i can remember how everyone was complaining about those first couple legends series clogging shelves/pegs all over the country, and then they re-released a few in that "Hall of Fame" series and it was double-peg warming. now most, if not all, of those are selling for 3x the amount you would have paid when they hit

Those figures are a decade old so naturally they go up in value and a lot of those Legends haven't been released again
