This is generally what I've heard. He's a chore to be around backstage because he's so miserable. Mysterio doesn't surprise me. Isn't his contract just about up anyway? |

Drake Mavericks Twitter post is soul crushing. I do not wish anyone to lose their jobs and this is just typical WWE bullcrap. Why not cut how much to pay top performers? Contracts have guarantees and such. I mean we know Roman, Rollins, Cena, Taker, and others are making serious banks. I wonder if Lesner is still under a hefty contract? Fire the wrestlers who are there day in and day out... Perfect. I'm assuming most of these guys have relatively low downside guarantees, or at least guarantees that wouldn't cost much if they needed to float the company through the next few months with no live shows. Don't ever take a press release, especially a financial one, at face value. This is a great time to thin a bloated roster when other companies can't capitalize on available talent. And THAT is why I think it would be smart for AEW to sign anyone they're interested in ASAP. They have the capital to absorb losses as needed right now for the longterm benefits. |

I mean this all due to COVID-19. It has nothing to do with the XFL. With COVID-19, WWE cannot sell tickets to live events, or go on the road. Their sole income right now is the network and merchandising. They simply aren't making enough money with this Pandemic going on. I have a business degree, so I know why they are releasing talent left and right.

There is part of me thats wondering if WWE is releasing all of these people hoping that in a few months they will be able to re-sign them for way cheaper.
Also, if you look at the growing list, a lot of them are people that have caused WWE grief in the recent past: Kanellis, Lio Rush. The Revival was also released recently.
But Man!!!
EC3, Drake M, Zack Ryder, and the list will probably grow!!!!
