OOC: Short and rushed, but that's what happens when you don't get the match you planned for, and you don't want to use your big ideas for the match you end up joining, so you completely pull something out of your ass for the show haha. THanks Mesh for letting me post a couple hours past deadline due to my work schedule. I'd have tried to do a bit more with it, but we hit deadline with no talk of an extension, so didn't want to submit late. Cheers folks
Cameron Stone is sitting in his hotel room, a glass of scotch in one hand, his cell phone in the other. His foot taps impatiently, showing his clear agitation as he takes a large gulp of his drink. He’s slouched in the chair more than one would expect, not utilising a correct posture as he waits, and he looks a little worse for wear. Finally, his phone begins buzzing, and he immediately swipes his finger across its surface to answer the call, and raises it to his irritated looking face.
“About bloody time Damon, you were supposed to call over an hour ago.”
A pause, before a slightly nervous sounding voice responds.
“Sorry Cam, I overslept, the time difference between here and Manchester is taking some time to get used to.”
An angry snort greets that response.
“Well, I suggest you get used to it fast, otherwise I’ll find a new agent. Which I’m already considering, as a matter of fact. I’m not happy that I found out about Devilkiller not being cleared by the WFWF press release. We should have had a leg up on that.”
“I’m sorry Cam, they never contacted me about that so I had no idea.”
“You should be in constant contact with them, if you were, they’d have given you advanced warning.”
A longer pause as Damon takes a deep breath, calming himself before responding.
“It won’t happen again sir.”
“Good to hear. So what do you got for me? You said in your message you received a compelling offer.”
“Yes, Lila contacted me, they want you to be in the Survival of the Fittest match,”
A smirk crosses Cam’s face as he takes a long drink of his scotch, draining the remainder of what’s in the glass.
“Of course they do. That’s just funny.”
“I fail to see what’s so amusing about it.”
“I don’t even have any interest in winning a title, yet here I am being gift wrapped an opportunity to get a shot at one. A chance that most sane people on the roster would jump at. And here I am trying to think of a reason why I should accept.”
Damon gasps in surprise, before trying to think of something that may make Stone want to do the match.
“Why wouldn’t you? It isn’t just a chance at the opportunity, its a high level match, and it will keep you on the show after your match got postponed.”
“It’s also a hazardous match with a high risk of injury.”
“The Hell in a Cell would have been as well.”
Stone lets out a chuckle.
“Yeah but that’s different, it’s a personal thing. And it’s against one guy, not five. You know, come to think of it, I think there may be a conspiracy going on here.”
Damon frowns.
“What on earth could you possibly mean? How could this be a conspiracy?”
“Assuming that if I lose my match, I’ll accept a role in the chamber, bolster the star power a bit. Also, I think they may have realized trying to suspend both a Cell and a Chamber at the same time would be a complete logistical nightmare and they decided not to bother. Who knows, maybe Devilkiller is perfectly fine and the WFWF are the ones who wanted our match later. It makes sense, Stone vs DK III sells a show by itself, you don’t need it on the same show as a Survival of the Fittest match and the Winner Takes All match, It makes sense.”
Damon shakes his head, muttering to himself before he replies.
“You sound completely paranoid, you know that right?”
“Damon, being paranoid is what has kept me so relevant and ahead of the game all these years.”
“Yeah, and it’s also a big reason why your marriage is in shambles.”
A dead silence fills the air as Damon recoils in horror, not having meant to say that, but it was too late, it slipped out, and the damage had been done. On the other side, Cameron went white, shaking in anger, gripping his phone so tight that it was incredible it didn’t snap in two. After taking a few seconds to calm himself, Stone spoke back into the phone softly, but dangerously.
“If you ever speak about my personal life again, I will personally see to it you don’t ever speak again, is that clear?”
“Cameron I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say anything, I won’t d. . . . “
Cameron shouted back, interrupting him.
“I said, IS THAT CLEAR?”
“Yes sir.”
After a few moments of silence, Cameron broke the uncomfortable silence.
“Tell Lila if she wants me in the chamber, it’s going to cost them an extra 33% of my per match fee, call it hazard pay.”
“Cameron, there’s no way she is going to go for that.”
“Agreed, which is why I’m giving you permission to settle for a 20% bump. That way it looks like we’re coming down on our demands.”
“I don’t know Cameron, I’m still not sure she will even go for that,”
A smirk crosses Cameron’s face.
“She will. She won’t like it, but she will. She needs me in this match a lot more than I need to be in it. And if for some reason she truly scoffs at the number, book me a plane ticket back to LA.”
“I know you aren’t committed to this place completely Cameron, so what are you going to do if you win the match?”
“I guess we’ll find out if it happens.”
Cameron hangs up his phone, and throws it across the room, where it luckily lands on the bed. Still angry about his family being brought up, Stone makes a mental note to look for a new agent as he reclines in the chair, trying to calm himself down fully.

So here I am. My third time inside this devastating structure, this chamber of horrors, the survival of the fittest. It was around a decade ago when I made my first appearance inside, during my time in the National Championship picture. I didn’t win that first chamber, but it took the combined efforts of like three other superstars teaming up on me to take me out, because I was a force of chaos in that match. I didn’t win my second one of these either, but you can hardly blame me, given it was at Superbrawl for the World Title with the four other top superstars in the company at that point. There was always going to be one winner, four disappointed top level competitors, and Yukio Blaze in that match. So now here we go for the third time. There is definitely some good talent in this lineup, but this is probably the easiest shot in this match I’ve had. But I’ve also had basically zero time to prepare mentally or physically for this match,
But Cameron, I hear people starting to say, you were scheduled to compete in a hell in a cell anyway, so how much preparation do you really need for another cage match? Well, any idiots saying that, allow me to educate you. For one, there are five opponents, not one. Secondly, I have knowledge of what Devilkiller is like in the ring, and have been preparing for him specifically, not these other people. Thirdly, you have the random factor. Not knowing the order in which participants will be released into the fray, having to have eyes in the back of your head for new people coming in, some being fresher than others due to coming in late, there are oh so many factors that influence how this match will go down.
Then there is the biggest hurdle of all; my motivation. You see, I don’t really know if I want to win this match, deep down. Everyone else in there absolutely wants that world title shot. I don’t know if I do. I like my nomad status, being able to come and go as I see fit. Becoming world champion is a large commitment. Plus, I don’t know if I could dethrone Drakz. I’ve tried to beat him twice, didn’t work out. Which there’s no shame in losing to the best. I have no doubts that if I was properly prepared, and I really wanted to, that I could wipe the floor with everyone inside of this cage with me. But my motivation will be a factor, whether I want it to be or not. Will I get caught up in the moment, and go on a tear, taking down everyone in my path on my way to victory? Or will my heart only be half in it, and I go out in the middle of the match? Even I don’t know the answer right now. I’m still pretty upset I have to wait to get my hands on Devilkiller. So at the very least, the first person I get my hands on inside that chamber is going to feel the wrath of my disappointment.
Also I won’t lie, I was kind of curious to see exactly how the WFWF was going to manage to have both structures set up at the same time. I feel cheated out of that. I suppose in the end, I’ll decide my own fate once I’m surrounded by all of that metal. If anyone else in this match are good enough and want it badly enough, you have to go through me.
When I stepped off the plane in Manchester, I thought I was entering hell. But in reality, I feel like I’m entering purgatory. So let’s see what happens boys. Try to survive.
