The York FoundationThis faction would start it's journey in late 1990 when Alexandra York would manage Mike Rotunda aka Michael Wallstreet who prior to this had an awful captain gimmick that was going nowhere for em so here we are.He would get a good push with this gimmick as he racked up a little undefeated streak on TV with his biggest win coming at Starrcade that year against Terry Taylor.York using her computer to analyze the matches while cheesy looking back fit the gimmick perfectly. The alliance between Wallstreet and York didnt last long however as by early 91 Rotunda left the company over creative issues with him being in the WWF by the Spring as IRS. This left York with no clients but that would soon change as Terry Taylor would turn heel and join up with here with him now going by Terrance Taylor. His first big win under his new persona was against Ricky Morton on the Clash that January. It was during this time she was trying to recruit Dustin Rhodes to the team but he would turn her down leading to a feud between him and Taylor. It was also around this time where Mr Hughes would come in as the bodyguard The big shocker though of this teams run happened that Summer at Clash 15 when Ricky Morton would turn on long time partner Robert Gibson to join the Foundation. This would lead to a showdown between the two at GAB that year with Morton picking up the win now as Richard Morton. After Mr Hughes would leave the group for Luger/Race at that same event,They would recruit final member Tommy Rich who during this time was pretty much a jobber so this definitely was a little resurgence for em.Him,Morton and Taylor would go on and defeat Dustin Rhodes,Big Josh and Z Man to become the final 6 man tag champs. Remember the short run of those belts??!By the Fall the team would be on it's last legs with not much happening for em.This was because of issues backstage with Dusty and Miss York on her dating Dustin during this time. They would start a feud with the Freebirds late in the year but it pretty much went nowhere as the team would be done by early 92. Overall...Morton/Rich as heels being weird as hell aside,This was a decent little heel group during this era I thought. And I agree with LA Times , their theme song definitely sounded like the song to Dallas lol. What are your memories/thoughts of the York Foundation? Share them below!

The York Foundation was one of the main heel factions when I first started watching WCW. I wonder if the Rockers breakup was inspired by Ricky Morton turning on Robert Gibson.

Wouldn't surprise me.Both turns were well done but man the RNR split really floored me.That was one team I was convinced would never break up.

I've met all four pictured and they are all great people. I am happy reading about them as a faction. Ricky and Tommy are especially out of this world class acts.
Not to go off topic but an interesting Ricky story he told me is that someone approached a few wrestlers at a restaurant and asked for autographs for their son. Ricky was the only one to sign and later in the night the person introduced himself as Eddie Murray of the Baltimore Orioles. For years Eddie was a tough autograph signed himself so that's pretty funny. But it really shows you the type of guy Ricky is. He and probably Tommy would wrestler for one person if that's how many people bought a ticket to the show.
I really couldn't see him lasting long as a heel. He and Robert have been like brothers for so long. One never seems to be without the other and very rarely on the opposite side.

I remember the 6 man titles. WCW had a million belts back then. I cannot believe US tag titles were a thing. I was waiting for more crazy belts like a Syndicated TV Title or something.

I couldn’t imagine back then how hot(as in looks) Alexandra York would be in the WWF several years later.
