So a few months ago I posted this I pretty much have most of my materials to start building my arena + first month of shows is now planned. Wondering if folks would be interested in sort of hype thread where I document all the stuff coming together in the lead-up to the first show. But unfortunately uni went back about a week later and I simply got too busy with final semester assignments to actually get stuff done. With that now out of the way, I can finally get onto starting my picture/text fed. Unfortunately the push-back of schedule means that I've had to rewrite some of my storylines (as one of the ones I had in mind was meant to have a fun blow-off at a Halloween-themed event). But for the most part I can keep, and have kept, my other plans intact. Over the next day or so I'll continue the construction of my arena (having mapped out dimensions / cut cardboard back in July); and I'll be shooting and editing photos for the roster and first pay-per-view's promo materials, which I hope will take place in late November / early December after a couple of episodes of shows. And of course, I hope to keep you guys posted on all that good stuff as it progresses. If you guys have any questions about my fed in the meantime (format, scheduling) - I would love to hear/answer them

The arena is starting to come together! This thing is freaking HUGE and the plan is, of course, to have the whole thing painted black before it's time to go for the first show. Speaking of, I had hoped to start my fed this week. However, I think starting next week is a more realistic goal, given I have a few more barriers to finish off tonight, then a stage to put together, and then a paint job to do.

Looking great so far! Jakks RSR too, I haven't seen one of those used in a fed in a while!

It's the one that was released around a decade ago (scary to think now that I write it) that came with The Cell. My roster is going to pretty much reflect the fact I collected figs for a few years from 2008 to around 2011, and then started collecting again a few months ago haha

It's a really awesome set up. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the comparison between the RSR and the Mattel Elite Rings

I didn't end up getting it although I did manage to track down the Scale Elimination Chamber a few years later. I haven't got one of the new Mattel rings, but compared to the Wicked Cool Toys ring, I think it holds up. I've ended up using the turnbuckle pads from the RSR for my ASR to reduce the size inside as I think it's a little too big with the original pads. Plus it gives you more apron space and it's a lot easier to change the ropes too.

I'm going through a similar process with my fed at the moment. Just have to set up the arena, get 4 more figures then i'll be set for my start in 2019. Mine's a mix of RA Era Mattel and current figures, got some matches i really want to do now. Still debating whether i want to do commentary or just put music over the top haha.
Can't wait to see the progression of yours though.

I'm planning on using my Jakks RA/DA figs along with the Mattel Basics and Elites I have, so the roster is a mix of late 2000s/early 2010s midcarders/main eventers at the moment. How many figs do you have all up? I'm looking at running dual brands but I'm in two minds if it's too ambitious given my roster size. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for your shows, there was some awesome articulation in the match you submitted for Halloween Havoc, and I'd be keen to watch you progress if you keep submitting matches in the lead-up to your fed's launch. I get the feeling commentary will probably make it a bit more work, but if you can get the clips it'll look great -- probably a lot like those pay-per-view recaps they did for a little while that were just photo and sound packages. On the other hand, music works too if you're wanting to fill the space; but I dunno, I got into a habit of muting the music on wrestling compilation videos a long time ago. Could only take so much Breaking Benjamin and System of a Down hahaha. My interest is more in writing/journalism, so my plan is to take a photo gallery with a text-post approach. Sort of what you might see on WWE.com.

Sort of what you might see on WWE.com. I've got 2 different brands, by the first draft one brand has 31 (Realistically about 27 or so because i didn't use some for the year i have planned) and the other has 30 (Again about 26-27 active). I've got every PPV match and feud planned out up to a second years WrestleMania. I've also got match cards and poster's planned for all of the PPV's, i'm in a conflict though because i love the design and matches of my 2nd WrestleMania, but that's scheduled for 2020 haha. But once i got most things together and ready, i'll upload the Royal Rumble Poster/Match Card. The commentary part would be harder than the music, but like you mentioned, you can only take so much of (Artist/Song). Plus i want to give it a bit more 'passion' with commentary on big wins, heinous acts etc... Though if i do the commentary i'll just do it myself because i don't think i'll be able to get much for someone like Leo Kruger haha. So all in all, the written & digital part of my fed is mostly done. - PPV's - Stage concepts for both brands and PPV's - Match cards & Posters - Theme songs for the PPV's. I tried to pick themes to match the design of the show, for example my Rumble's theme is 'A Warrior's Call' by Volbeat, because it says "Lets get ready to Rumble" at the start, which would work perfect in a pre show package, plus it has kind of that 'Start of year, kicking things off' beat. Then my WM theme has that 'chills' feel to it, idk if it's weird but i can already picture the show intro, pyro then the chorus of the song as the crowd cheers haha. - Arena Effects on all the entrance themes Just need - Crowd effects - Brand Show/PPV intro's - Arena setup - Stages - Coloured Ring ropes and ring skirts - Daniel Bryan, The Miz & Drew McIntyre If i get some time to do them, i'll surely throw up a match or 2 leading up to the debut as well as the arena setup.

Jeez, both of those brands are pretty much the size of my entire roster! I'm trying to not plan as far ahead, just in case new figs come out in the next couple of months that I want to throw into my storylines. I've got 5 months of rough PPV cards planned so far, with three months of weekly shows planned as well. But I want to keep my ideas kind of flexible. As far as all those graphics and whatnot, I'm still kind of thinking about whether I want to use real life promo stills or shoot pictures of the figures. I feel like there are pros and cons to both, but I'm probably leaning more towards using the figures. And I feel like choosing theme songs for PPVs is the most fun part!! I have a couple in mind for the first few pay per views, but I feel like it'd be more fun to wait and see what new tracks get released and then choose, rather than planning so far in advance. That way I can use newer songs, sort of like how the WWE do. Definitely keen to see your arena setup progress if you have the time to put some pictures up!

I thought about that, though with what's currently been announced, nothing will affect my timeline really. Only one being Almas but i'll be able to fit him in easy. For graphics i went with PNG renders which look great over PPV themed backgrounds, plus with that you get more flexibility with expressions, attire/look changes etc... I did up an example using my WM 2 theme since that's my 2nd favourite style i've done so far (This isn't an actual match though haha) It's not the most professional looking one, i can't really afford to buy Photoshop right now so the 'Drawing' feature in Google Docs + editing some photos with filters, lighting etc... acts like a little Photoshop haha. The theme songs definitely help with motivation for a PPV, i plan on using the theme/s in all PPV intros and feud promos so that should be good.

RuthlessFigs that match would be an absolute banger if you did make it! Before I got Photoshop, I used an online alternative called Pixlr Editor which you may want to try out Glad to see how much thought and planning you guys are putting into your feds, I know they'll be worth the wait!

I'm keeping an eye on eBay for a figure that I'm chasing but, man, it's probably going to be hard to come by. Every time one goes up it's just way more than I'd be willing to pay. Can't reveal for storyline reasons lol. Those PNG renders look great for your limited resources. I might end up going for the same - you make a good point with the argument about expressions and look changes. I had prepared a mock-up of the poster for my first pay-per-view so I might actually throw that up here later, just if I can confirm that I'll be able to actually do the date I've listed for it as the actual pay-per-view date. But at this rate, it's definitely possible!

Here we go, Stuart? -- a few pics of the crowd for you. Should also be able to pick a few members of the roster based on t-shirts worn in the crowd

Love it! Is that the RSC Edge that Jakks made? I always wanted one because of the pleather trench coat haha.
