Hey guys, has anyone tried to collect all of any series (real series or your own genre ala comic book figures, lunchboxes, patches, etc.) of toys that has a tremendous amount of pieces, like more than 15? I was thinking about how many Movie Maniacs I was missing when I realized they had a lot more than I ever thought. The closest I ever came to an ambitious collection was trying to get all the figures/dolls/bobbleheads of musicians out there, but I only ever got to about 20 or so pieces back pre 2006. I have a Mad Magazine collection with with 11 pieces or so, plus odd items too, but that is only like half of what exists.
I look forward to seeing what yall post. Thanks for reading.

I collected every single marvel legends figure during the toybiz run. When they stopped, I got annoyed and stopped collecting action figures all together. Tried collecting every single funko pop after. That was stupid. I look at my funko Pop collection with regret. Wish I never started. Didn't realize how ugly they were until I got back into collecting action figures again. Really love wwe figures now. Really want to complete my 80's and 90's wrestling roster.

Yep. My original Star Wars figure collection. I have every figure, some ships and the mini-rigs, but I still won't get the huge items like the AT-AT or Millenium Falcon. I couldn't afford it then. I think this was the onset of my OCD. I had to have every figure. I got my first ones at 6 (R2, Luke, Leia & Chewbacca), and my last one (Yak Face) when I was 20.

I'm starting to collect/gather metal/punk band patches. They're actually pretty hard to cum by nowadays but when I see one I like I usually pick it up. Mainly 00's punk - rise against, the used, alkaline trio!

I collected Marvel cards from 1990-1998 and had the whole set for Series 1-5, Fleer Spiderman 1994, Marvel Masterpieces Series 1, X-Men Series 2, etc. For some other sets like Marvel Masterpieces Series 2, I am missing a few cards.

Yall are amazing with your collections. These must all be gorgeous displayed. reznortv Those Marvel Legends are awesome. I have a few. I bet it was hard to find some pieces. I know Blade was kind of hard, if I am remembering my experience correctly. I know that I tied those in with getting the big Marvel figures, but I only could get Daredevil before I got enough to buy the others, then they were gone. You were brave to even try to go for the Pops...they are too expensive and variations are everywhere. Though, I dig the comic look. Except, I saw Krusty, and I think he looks super odd as a Pop. theicwguy Patches are so awesome. Used to be around $3-5 and were at every music shop and online. My grandma made me custom music shirts from them when I was a kid, matched a patch to a color of shirt. I think I have 15 or so un-ironed patches still in an ICP Lunchbox on my wall. My dad always wanted me to get a jean jacket and iron all of them to it at once. I never did, but now maybe I'll frame them. Such amazing works of art. PJBatman figs are killer. Did you get into the statues too. Do you keep everything MOC? For some reason, I always cherished my early Robin figure loose, even though I no longer have it. That yellow and red combo just popped. GrumpyoldmanThat is a truly collasal feat. Did you go as deep as that rare Fett with, IIRC, a launching rocket? Being collecting since a kid, I assume everythinf loose, as you gotta replay the scenes of the movie. LA TimesI vaguely remember those cards, but I remember lots of colors and that was different and awesome. That is cool you collect them. Did you buy by the pack or box? I have a hard time opening a sealed box these days, even though displaying packs and cards is a cool look in its own right. I collected odd sets like Mad, Yo MTV Raps, The Crow, etc. Something unique about the things most people care zero for. Thanks to everyone for responding. I have nothing close to you guys. Plus, I hardly have any space anymore. I think the one collection I have seen people go for that flabbergasted me is the full roster of Beanie Babies. I could just imagine how hard that would be, but how happy a kid would be just to see it in a museum or something. Anyhoo, have a good one all. VPV

I have a couple things MIB but almost everything is loose. Statues -no not really. I have a few Maquetts and Ron Lee’s but not really any of the DCD statues. Most (stuff I display) can be seen on the first page of the Batman/DC thread stickied above.

I have a re-release rocket firing Boba Fett. I've never seen an original for sale, or a Prototype. I think the Toy Hunter sold one to a collector for $17,000. It would be nice to see one, and to hold it for a little while. I wish I had that kind of money to throw around.

vampiroporvida, for most of the series, I bought individual packs and then individual cards to complete the collection but I also bought entire sets on ebay.

My Star Wars figure collection is loose (except for the Han Solo in carbonate on a tri-logo card), but complete and in excellent condition. I never took any of my Star Wars items outside. I treated them like Gollum treated the One Ring. My Adventure People figures on the other hand, had some awesome outdoor excursions.

Hahaha! I was creepily overprotective if my Star Wars stuff. I wouldn't even let my brother play with them. Maybe it was for the better. I figure I'd get a better price for them if I ever decided to sell them.

I think the one line with the largest amount that I tried to hunt down was the Blackest Night figures from DC. I was really into that line for a while.
When I was a kid I collected Super Powers...but I think that's a little different as I was there for the 1st wave and just continued forward.
Same with the New 52 series of figures. I was given a Justice League box set and just kept up from there. By the time the line ended, I now have over 50 figures. And more recently with the FTC Batman 66 retro figures.

I collect the WWE, TNA, and MMA kids sized and figure sized Championship Title Belts made by Jakks and Mattel. I'm very specific with what to add to my collection of "Gold" and "Leather". It's not "complete", (I didn't collect the Jakks WWF Belts, or the dull versions of the Mattel figure sized Belts) but I have every Belt I want...for now.
