I was hoping this would be a fun game, but the Chargers are just getting tea bagged. Not quite what I would call it. I want to know, what happened to the Chargers? They were great last season..... I see Pittsburgh (2-0), Cleveland(1-1), and Detroit(2-0) who sucked last season, and are playing well (other than opening for the Browns, and that was because Frye was doing bad and Anderson could not catch up.). I have never seen Detroit 2-0, and Cleveland was great yesterday. It is like Rise of the Fallen all over again. But it is still to early in the season to make judgements. But if everyone plays they way they have, we might see the Browns vs. Lions in the Super Bowl..... Though I am just spitballing. The Lions and Browns both have no defenses and would get killed by teams that are actually legitimately good in their respective conferences. Anyways, tonights game should be great. Any thoughts? Brian Westbrook has 130+ total yards and a TD so I win my fantasy league. w00t By the way, I'm pretty sure the Patriots will never lose a game again. Randy Moss + Tom Brady is like a wet dream made in heaven. Yeah, and video camera's help also They didn't have anything last night and they pretty much molested the Chargers - a consensus top-3 NFL team.

He has incredible vision, great moves, and he's extremely fast. My opinion has always been, and will continue to be, that return-men are given far too much credit for their success while other special teamers are completely unknown and unthanked. I understand where you're coming from, that his success has been over-rated... But he's still a damn good returner - the best in the NFL. You can't discredit the kind of impact he has had for the Bears and the fact that opposing teams literally have to kick away from him to not get scored on.

My blind hate for Devin Hester is kind of ironic. He's a great player, but I'm more of a Favre guy. Since Favre plays on the Packers, I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the kid take a wallop. It's sort of similar to how all these kids I know (in life, not here, so spare me the angry replies quoting me) hate Brett Favre for no good reason except that "He's a Packer." They say he sucks, he's old, and all that, but there isn't much truth to any of it. Everybody on this board blindly loathes some player or team. Just because my choice isn't a more naturally hated fella like TO or, um, Reuben Droughns, I don't see why I get **** for it. Everyone hates TO, and most of those who do don't even know why.

I have never heard anyone call Craig Davis "Buster" it was his nickname when he came to LSU, and it still stuck with him while he was there... but during draft time, there was already a Buster Davis(MLB from florida state) and a Chris Davis(KR from florida state), so i think he just dropped the "buster" and went back to Craig Davis regarding Hall and Hester: the shelf life of a return man in the NFL is never long. because in today's NFL, where you only have 53 roster spots allowed, you need your return man to play on offense or defense, as well, to warrant a roster spot. there aren't many teams who can afford to employ a "pure returner" like the Brian Mitchell's of the old days. when Dante Hall blew up, the Chiefs staff started thinking "shit, this guy is great with the ball in his hands, lets give him 30 reps a game at WR." he was a college RB who didn't know the nuances of the wide receiver position, not to mention playing all those offensive snaps sapped his burst on kick and punt returns. and he's never been the same. the same thing is gonna happen/ is happening to Hester. he was a guy without a position in college(could've been a great CB, but Coker insisted on giving him mostly offensive snaps), had an amazing year as an explosive returner, and now has his coaching staff thinking "heeey lets put him on offense so he gets the ball in his hands more." his endurance goes down, he wastes practice reps trying to learn the WR position, and the end result is a marginal wide receiver who maybe breaks one or two big returns in a season. if I were the Bears, i'd quit the experiment and just put him on returns and leave him alone. sure, you spent a 2nd round pick on him, and thats a lot for a pure returner. but if he's getting you 6 TD's a year, that 2nd round pick is damn well worth it

agreed on hester. i dont think they're going to use the experiment long personally, i think he was targetted once the entire game against the chiefs. but that's about exactly what i said in my previous post, just less detailed.
if they over-utilize him, he'll breakdown... if they play it smart, he could remain effective another 3-4 years.

What was it that LT said exactly? This is the first Ive heard of it. i dont remember it that well, but i think he said the patriots takes the saying "if you're not cheating, you're not trying" too seriously. i know its not really big, but he should just keep his mouth shut.

On PTI both Wilborn and Kornheiser both said that Hester is already the best return man...ever.

the blind hatred comment kind of confused me too... I know why he hates Hester, because everyone in Chicago loves him and he's a Packers/Colts fan living in Chicago. But that's not really blind hatred.
For the record, I know this doesn't pertain to the post, but I hate Brett Favre personally because he's a money hungry, annoying, loud-mouthed, selfish jerk who should've retired a long time ago, and controls more than he should be allowed to within that organazation.
faith in favre 2019 though.
