According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers have added Esteban Loaiza from the A's on a waiver claim.
The A's could have insisted on a prospect return and pulled him back if the Dodgers refused, but they instead opted to shed the approx. $8.375 million Loaiza has left on his contract. His addition figures to knock Eric Stults out of the Dodgers' rotation. Dallas Braden could get another shot in Oakland. Aug. 29 - 1:26 pm et

Wow, check out this quote from Damon (NY Post):
"It's taken a number of players to replace me," Damon said of the Red Sox. "I'm Johnny [Bleeping]Damon."
This is the same guy who's been replaced by Melky [Bleeping] Cabrera and plays LF or DH.
The more and more Damon talks, the more and more it seems like he really misses Boston.
EDIT - I would assume this was a joke by Damon, but he isn't really smart enough for that kinda thing.

You forgot part of the article:
Seriously, don't you know by now that Damon always acts like a clown with the media?
I hope Ian Kennedy turns out to be good...I'm already thinking of all the Mr. Kennedy jokes/ sigs I can do, lol.

Yah Damon's just an idiot, I dont really care what he says anymore, hes gonna be a platoon guy next year anyways, He wishes he was still in Boston, but we are all set.
He does know how to use that short porch in LF in Yankee Stadium like no other.

Loaiza to the dodgers is just logical. A's dump payroll and the dodgers get a starter to help them in the playoffs push. suprising though that beane didn't manage to pry away any one from the loaded LA farm system.

He does know how to use that short porch in LF in Yankee Stadium like no other. The short porch is in right....buuuut whatever. Anyway, it's clear that the Yankees do better with Johnny Damon in the lineup and he plays a much better LF than Hideki Matsui. Next year perhaps Hideki Matsui can be the full time RF or maybe DH and Giambi and Wilson Betemit can platoon at first with Duncan like is happening now? Starting pitching and the bullpen situation really is the only problems with this team. If that situation gets cleared up, then I see no reason why the defense and offense of this team can't stay the same. Even if we keep Abreu we can still keep Hideki, Damon, Melky and Giambi all on the same team. It's working fine right now, I mean yeah it sucks for Jason Giambi that he doesn't get to play enough, but with Phillips not hitting that good I don't see why Giambi and Betemit can't split time next year and using Phillips as a late inning defensive replacement and occasionally start when A-Rod or Jeter are resting and Betemit is playing 3rd or short.

Short porch in right and left, that whole stadium is a band box.
If the Yankees do keep Abreu, you probably see or expect the Yankees to let Damon win the 1B role next year with Giambi DHing.
I know the Yankees have all the money in the world and all this, but Giambi and Damon platooning right away just wont happen...too much money and talent to be sitting on the bench 4 times a week

yeah, i was about to say, the porches are short on both sides Yeah but left center is like a death valley. Fly balls go out to die in left center in Yankee Stadium. If you don't pull it down the lines on either side, you're looking at 385 to right center and over 400 to center and left center. It's not like it's EASY to hit home runs in Yankee Stadium. Right handers have a really tough time, seeing as they lose a lot of potential home runs in the left-center gap.
