After there are 3 outs and the players are coming back into the dugout, what do they always throw at the first baseman before he gets there?
I notice this almost all the time when they show the 1st baseman on camera when he's almost at the dugout, something gets thrown at him and he cathches it in his glove.
It looks smaller than a regulation ball, kinda looks like a mini rosen bag or something?
I've played and have been watching baseball for years and I don't really have a decent guess as to what that's all about..
Anyone know?

It should be the baseball.

It is the baseball, and the majority of the time, the final put out of the inning is with the first baseman. He'll throw the ball into the crowd or something. I don't exactly know why they would toss it to him if the put out is somewhere else, though.

Chances are, it's just another baseball. Usually, while the pitcher warms up for the next inning, the first baseman tosses grounders to the infielders, and they practice picking it up, and throwing back to first.

Its another ball. I used to play 1st base & did this all the time. They throw them a ball to put in their glove so when they head back out onto the field he can toss it around with the 3B, 2B, & SS players while the pitcher is warming up. Its just a way to save time & keep the players loose

Guys, I know the 1st basman warms up the infielders before the START of the inning. I'm talking about AFTER the 3 outs in the inning have been made and he's coming off the field, someone from inside the dugout throws the 1st baseman something smaller than a baseball and he will catch it in his glove.
I'm 95% sure it's not just another ball.
