Where would the Red Sox even play Jermaine Dye? Supposedly, they promised him that he would start 5 days a week. If that's true, then JD Drew's playing time would decrease significantly.

Just seems stupid to me for Boston to go out and get another outfielder considering the money Drew is making.

Not really, the Yankees were looking to deal players with a lot of money (Abreu earlier, rumors of Damon now etc)
During the season, the money means nothing, production is what counts and Drew blows guys

i ing hate the cubs fans who go to the great american ballpark Sorry our team has a fanbase. And no pitcher with 10+ losses, let alone two. And a ballpark without fireworks cannons and a soon-to-be cliche design. And players that don't strike out 200 times a season (anymore). Oh no, Jimbo, the Cubs are a much different squadron than you're used to remembering. And we don't have the ghost of Marge Schott looming over our franchise. We have Jim Hendry, and that scary black man with no teeth who hangs out inside the McDonald's across the street from Wrigley after every game and Police concert and convention, but Marge Schott? Yeccch.

And Aaron Harang looks like an ape. Which is fitting, as I call him Harang-a-tang.

i ing hate the cubs fans who go to the great american ballpark atleast they go. don't you live in south carolina or jersey or something? Why the hell are you complaining? you've never been to reds stadium in your life to my knowledge, and you probably won't for a good while if ever. it's one things when fans directly impact an experience at a ballgame, but to sit on your couch in another state and claim you hate cubs fans at "your team's" ballpark... i dont get it? what do they do, jump through the tv all the way in jersey and throw 6$ coors lite compliments of wrigley field at you?

And for the record, fans of the opposition make games interesting if you've actually been to a baseball game.
I've been to a Red Sox/Cubs game, and it was one of the best games I've ever been to because of all of the Boston fans that attended (it was at Wrigley). Really knowledgeable people (wow did I just say that?) for the most part, and there was a constant atmosphere in the game because of it.
I've been to Cubs/Cards games, tons of them, and for the most part I enjoy them. The fans are usually really good except for the occasionally dickhead but again the atomposphere is great.
Brewers/Cubs games up in Milwaukee were always fun because half the time Cubs fans outnumbered the Brewers... doubt it's this way this year though.
The only "rivalry" game I hate is the crosstown series, it's ridiculous. I've been to two crosstown games, one in Wrigley (04) and one in US Cellular (06) and each was a horrible experience. I can safely say White Sox fans are annoying and add nothing good to being there.
But I can understand why you wouldn't like Cubs fans at Great American Ballpark... we probably outnumber the amount of Reds fans who go there. But that's ok.

When the Cubs or Red Sox come to Atlanta, you'd think they were the home team some times. I just hate it because it's embarrassing. When the Mets come, you do see a lot of Mets fans, but Braves fans usually go out of their way to be there for those games.

Well, a lot of Yankees and Red Sox fans retire to the Tampa area. Of course, a lot of people from New York and Boston moved to Atlanta for work, which explains their presence somewhat.

My whole point was I don't see how it's effecting jimmy when he's never even been to a Reds game (95% sure of this), and doesn't live anywhere near the vacinity of the city. He can sit on his couch and bitch about it, but I just don't see why it bugs him so much? If Cubs fans want to make the trek, good for them... it says more about them than some of the Reds' own fans atleast.

I try to travel to at least one Falcons game a year myself, and it's usually fun. I'm not an obnoxious ass about it when I am there, so I usually make a few friends around me, and egage in some playful ribbing. I blame Chris Sabo.
