That jersey is atrocious. I really hope they don't switch over to these uniforms. They look like ing soccer jerseys. I'm going to be really pissed if they screw around with the Rangers' jersey and give it some stupid new trendy look.

I heard about both Selanne and Niedermayer retiring. I could see them retiring and it wouldnt be a huge loss. Give them room to fill the gaps plus Pronger and company are still there

That jersey is atrocious. I really hope they don't switch over to these uniforms. Do you really think at the minute they'd have a change of heart? I'm loving the old Capitals look. These new jerseys will get some taking used to, but Christ, they're not going to ruin the game. Some people are reacting as if these new jerseys will be the end of hockey. I imagine a lot of teams will be changing their look. Apparently they've all been given the option to do so. There was some crazy rumour I was reading that Boston was dropping the 'spoked B' for a new logo. That's just nuts. I can't see any Original 6 changing their logo. Unless it's a case where they change to a older logo. I'd love to see the Leafs go back to the old leaf. The one that actually LOOKS like a Leaf, and not a really bad attempt at a Canadian Flag leaf.

It won't be the end of hockey, but I think a lot of people will agree that merchandising is one of the stronger aspects of hockey. Jerseys have always sold well, and most people buy them large to wear to games, and to wear over pads. Recreational hockey players are no longer going to buy the jerseys to play in, most players I know buy their jerseys 2-3 sizes too big because they like the loose fit.
Fans will likely still buy them, but cut back. I can't see a 300lb ranger fan wearing something form fitting in madison square garden...
Its not going to have a positive or negative impact on the actual games... however, it is further alienating an already small fanbase this sport has.
I don't think switching uniforms, or remaining with the current uniforms will help the sport draw more fans. However, I don't think the league should be doing anything that could potentially turn any of its relatively few fans off to the sport.
I used to collect jerseys, and still buy the occasional one to wear. I honestly don't see myself buying form fitting jerseys.

I agree with you. I'm glad I bought my Jordan Staal jersey last year, because I don't think I'm going to like to wear these new form fitting jerseys.

Unless it's a case where they change to a older logo. A picture was leaked of both the draft day Bruins and Capitals hats. The Bruins hat had the new logo, which was almost exactly the same, except using this B instead. www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?lo=227

Bruins 'changed' their logo. It's so useless.

Here is the new logo, barely changed anything on the B.

Is that for the draft or just listing 5 random Russians?

and bostons gonna do better with a coach that got fired with 3 games left in the season He led them to a division title. Lamoriello's just crazy, is all. He obviously wasn't fired on his performance. Boston's got themselves a great coach. I don't like the sounds of these Marleau to Montreal rumours. I love Marleau.. just don't want him playing for the the enemy.

Leafs re-sign Coloaiacovo to a 3-year, $3.85 million deal. It's great that he re-signed, but a bit risky at that price considering he's Lindros on defense. It just takes a bit of a bump and he's gone with a concussion.
Giguere re-signed as well. 4 years, $6 million.

not bad. The only difference is the rings on the sleeve instead of one continuous stripe.
