Brian, did you happen to catch any of Wil Nieves' stellar play behind the plate today?

By acquiring Bueherle, and I am not even sure its gonna happen, it probably wont but it will effectively end Curt Schillings time in Boston.
2008 will look like Beckett/Matsuzaka/Bueherle/Lester/UGH Wakefield
I would give up Bowden and Lowrie and even WMP, no way would you trade Ellsbury or Buchholz for him, not even if he was signed for 5 years. Both of them are going to be big pieces of your future.
Bottom line, its not gonna happen.

Well like brian said, if Williams doesn't like the deal, then the Red Sox won't get Buehrle and it will be their loss.

Not really, the Red Sox have the best record in Baseball, 11.5 games up on the #2 team, not to mention an unlimited bank account come the offseason when we can sign him and keep our prospects. What a terrible thing that would be.

Schilling should sign a one year deal with an option with the Phillies... they always need starting pitching anyway, and it would be nice to see that fat greasy end his career where it effectively began.

If the Red Sox acquire a very good starter, than Schilling is done with the Red Sox. If anyone wants to give him 13$ million then he'll leave.
It'd be nice to see him finish with the Sox, but not for what he's giving us now. Id rather pay Jon lester 500,000$ and probably get a thousand times better

Having Jon Lester as our mid-season pick up is better than most of the guys that will be available, so I am not worried.
Buherle would be nice, but not a necessity.

Lol....Julian Tavarez vs. Jeff Weaver tomorrow.
although I shouldn't be laughing considering Tavarez has actually been a *gasp* very good 5th starter this year. Really can't ask for much more than he's given us.

They showed Robin Williams and Billy Crystal more than they showed Derek Jeter this weekend in San Francisco. Especially on Saturday on Fox. They should have just put them in the game.
