its for the same reason i havent drank regular dew for awhile because now the taste is incredibly bland, it taste like some diet crap and it goes flat real fast so i ended up just dumping a bottle in the sink i cant drink the stuff anymore. apparently i am not the only one that thinks this and there is a facebook post i stumbled upon that has the same complaints and they contacted pepsico and the only thing they said they changed which was the label < exactly, ever since they changed the label from dark green to bright green color the taste also changed. any good substitutes? surge is good but i like a strong citrus taste like mountain dew has.

Drink Walmart's Mountain Lightning. That's pretty close to regular Dew and it's cheaper.

I almost never drink regular Mt. Dew, I'm all about Voltage and once in a while I go to Code Red and Livewire. So if I were to drink a regular Mt. Dew, I don't think I would have a good recollection of whether it's different or not.

May I take this opportunity to say drink water instead, especially when, at your own discretion, you look up "Mountain Dew mouth?" That said, as soon as the local bottler decides to start selling Mtn Dew White Out again I will be all over it. ouch... yikes. yeah, i do actually need to stop drinking soda in general cause of heart issues i have that i haven't listened to my doctor. i see white out everywhere where i live.

XD Ill be honest, I dont know what part of PA you're in but Ive met a couple people from Pittsburgh that's moved down here...Outside of the accent they fit right with the "mountain folk" down here. Obviously not saying Pittsburgh is bad. Same as for the South, not everyone is dew chuggin, cigarette smokin, rebel flag wavin, 30yo rust bucket truck drivin, sister lovin hillbilly.....but they are here.

I don't think I've had regular mountain dew since high school. I try to avoid soda in general because of how terrible it is for you. But I always balance that out by making other decisions that are horrible for me.

I haven't had any soda in probably 10 years. Except for ginger ale when I have a stomach virus....I only drink water, coffee and protein drinks.
I think due to the amount of time I've been without soda, it would probably taste too sugary and sweet for me to every enjoy it again....that and it's really not good for you anyway. I don't miss it.

I haven't had any kind of Soda or really anything except for water and black coffee (no sugar either) in like over 30 years. I tried Sprite again around 25 years ago just out of curiosity and almost threw up from how sugary it was. One time Dunkin Donuts put sugar in my coffee and I didn't know it until I took a sip and same thing, almost puked. I think once you get off sugary drinks there's no going back.

Yeah, I've read that if your body is not used to stuff like sugary drinks or fast food, if you ingest these items it can make you feel really sick.

Does it no longer taste like poison? Is it no longer a mixture of various nasty liquids?

The only soda I have drunken in the last 10 years is Sprite LeBron mix. They sold it for like 2 months a couple years ago. Other than that its water for me.
