Does Andruw Jones know that this is his contract year?

Apparently not. This is like the worst contract year I have ever seen anyone have. He's just going up and hacking like there's no tomorrow. His swing is ridiculous right now.

People were mad at me when I said I was glad we let him go after that season. I love being right. Ichiro is a free agent next season. Honestly, I'd rather sign him and let Andruw go.

If Seattle lets Ichiro go, it would be like Godzilla attacking the Mariners revenue, it'd go straight down the shitter.
You want Torii Hunter my friend

I doubt Ichiro leaves Seattle, but a 1-2-3 of Ichiro, Damon, Jeter would be ing orgasmic. The Yankees are going to have to get another outfielder for next season. If Ichiro hits the market they'd push hard after him, but I doubt he does. I could see us possibly landing Torii Hunter...

Torii Hunter has come out and said that he wants to go to Texas, like many of times, if Minny lets him go Texas will snag him, especially with their hole out there.
I really dont think Ichiro or Jones will leave, Mike Cameron will be another hot CF

You don't think Andruw Jones will leave? Granted, he's having a horrible year, but he's still going to get some serious money that I don't see the Braves shelling out.

I'm not just saying this as a Yankee fan, but I view the Yankees as the one other team Ichiro signing with is New York. I don't think he'd bolt Seattle for Atlanta, or Texas... it would have to be another large market, possibly even Boston, when they finally concede to the fact that Cocoa Crispies sucks cock.
With Abreu as a free agent, I can't not see the Yankees pushing hard for Ichiro... but I'd still consider Seattle frontrunners to retain him. I predict they extend him before he hits free agency.

The Mariners are owned by a Japanese guy, I mean, its possible he leaves, but jesus, the ramifications of that to the Mariners would be endless. I can see the Yankees though, the Red Sox I HOPE will not go after him, unless JD Drew dies or wants to retire, because we got a young Johnny Damon coming and I'm actually excited and dont want Ichiro.

The biggest dissapointment about this team has to be Bobby Abreu. This guy is just absolutely worthless. Everyone else at least has their bright spots...Abreu just gets worse and worse. thx for cj henry

soooooooooooooooo I'm thinking the Yankees goose is pretty much cooked, no?
I don't think there's any coming back from 14.5 games, and even though I despise the Wild Card, even that is 8.5 back with 7 teams ahead of us.
So unless Al-Quada attacks the All-Star Game and kills off every other team in baseball, I'd say 2007 is in the books.
The Yankees remaining 112 games will have the feeling of meaningless Exhibition games.

Was anyone else on the edge of their seats for the last few innings of that Mets/Giants game tonight? I was freaking out (in a good way) when Benitez threw that second balk that got Reyes in. Then Delgado getting a homer for the win, it all just felt good. LoDuca getting angry at the officials gave me a few laughs.
