At tonight's NXT tapings, William Regal announced that a North American Champion will be crowned at the NXT Takeover: New Orleans event. EC3 came out and Regal announced that EC3 would face Killian Dain, Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan, Adam Cole, and Ricochet in a ladder match to crown the champion.

And rumors of a Cruiserweight Tag Team belt as well? You get a title! You get a title! You get a title! Honestly, NXT has been long over due of having a mid card title. You have so much talent that unless they form a team, they've only got one title to fight for, and this is something I would say a lot of people, for a long time, have been wanting. I know I have. Hell if it wasn't a ladder match, you could have had Ted DiBiase award the belt to the winner, since he was the first champion of the short lived WWF North American Title. |

The UK Title could’ve acted as a midcard title, but they barely use Pete Dunne for whatever reason. After he and Bate killed it in Chicago I thought that title would be on just about every Takeover.

But, that being said, I feel like fifteen titles across three brands (or four shows) is a lot, especially when the writing has been so bad overall, and the vast majority of the titles already feel worthless. |

I like the idea of the mid card NXT title although I feel that they don't get enough time to show off the talent in a 1 hour time slot, looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Cruiser tag titles is an insane idea the cruiserweights aren't even over on their own. And at this point in sure the UK title thing has failed |

I know this idea has been floating around but it feels like it was created for EC3. Pretty much the guy who can carry NXT all by himself but you don't have to insert him into the main title picture and mess up the development of guys like Black and Almas who aren't quite the production package that you already have with EC3. It kind of begs the question of why he's in NXT, similar to Drew McIntyre in that regard. Should be a hell of a match. Also, no reDRagon? Have some Future Shock. Sorry for the convenience.  |

I feel they should have gone with the Jack Brisco 15 Title from FCW. When FCW was on its last legs, that title was a highlight for me, especially when Ambrose and Rollins feuded for it. It would have been something different than just another title. Personally im not a fan of the name. Too 80s NWA for me. Itll grow on me eventually
