Thanks! Much appreciated! I'm doing a William Regal circa 2000-2001 using the same body. Val was a pretty quick project to be honest. I put a few tiny pieces of paper towel inside the head when I pop it on to the peg. Makes the head turn with the proper firmness and not super loose. Someone here on these boards gave me that awesome tip.

My wife's work. Three easy changes that should have been included on these figures. Vest for Austin, belt for Kane, and Gloves for Goldberg. Now if only someone could give the guy teeth smh WOW! Give the Mrs my props! So, why couldn't Mattel take the extra 5 seconds either? Kane no longer looks like he's going to a pajama party lol. And I hear ya on Goldberg. I added teeth to my custom but then thinned the teeth out some. You REALLY have to go in with a toothpick or one of those precision brushes from Hobby Lobby, and then once it's fully dry, go back a day or two later with an exacto knife and clean it up some. I'll dig into my files and post my custom Goldberg. I think it was like 80% done. I had to do some detailing and add the WCW belt at the time.

Here's Goldie. Like many others, I was not happy with his jumper body, so I made huge alterations to him. This wasn't my idea though. I forget the guys name, he's on this board, but he did one first, so credit to him. But I loved the idea so much that I tried it too. This is what I meant about the teeth though. I later thinned them out. When I get home from work I'll post updated pics.

Here's two that I'm just beginning. Since I heard the new Retro Shawn is probably going to be the 2005-2010 version, I'm doing 1990's HBK, along with William Regal. I'm using Styles for Michaels because of the boots.

Ok, so hit a snag with the HBK. I was removing the paint from the right elbow when I found out that the pin and hinge joint between the inner and outer forearm in actually black plastic - which makes sense, because you don't want the play on the elbow to strip the paint. So I'm replacing the arm with Austin's. In the meanwhile, here's an older figure I did. I still have to print up the pants decal though.. Brian Pillman

The Kane looks awesome, those changes definitely make a difference to the overall figure.
William Regal looks good too, I don’t know if it’s the picture or not but it looks like the legs are a shade darker than the torso. Other than that, it’s a really cool figure.

The head swap was something I really wanted to do. Hasbro was more "cartoony", I get that, but they did go too far with Kane. I wanted a more menacing look. Plus, it added a bit more height. As for the Regal, it's all lighting. He's basically just a Steve Austin figure with a head swap and tights repaint. The skin tones weren't changed at all. I'm looking at doing the New Age Outlaws soon. Warrior for Billy, jumper for Dogg.

Here's my finished Barbarian. I wanted to add fabric to his attire. Kind of a nod to the Hasbro Berzerker w/ fabric cloak.

Thanks for the compliment! It's awesome feedback like this that motivates me to customize as a fellow fan. I've learned that many of these Jakks heads work great. I just bought a Bob Backlund Classic Superstars btw, so I'm hoping to keep building that Hasbro to Retro bridge with the New Gen guys. I also bought the new Elite Diesel (head only). I'm thinking Ambrose, but I'm trying to figure out the issue with both of those hands being taped/gloved and the singlet/shirt covering a bit too much of the chest. The pants work perfect though. I just don't want to paint skin tones on these. They don't look right.

Ambrose upper body is cast in white with painted on skin. Also the shirt is not sculpted but just painted (similar to Hasbro Rick Steiner). I'd give the whole body a repaint (first add skin, than paint on shirt). However if I were you, I would wait for an appropriate body. Pants would be great for Diesel, but I'd prefer the Roman Reigns action feature.
Barbarian looks fantastic. Would love to add one to my collection aswell... especially the fabric is excellent. Only downside are those elbowpads. I'd rather paint them brown. Might not be accurate, anyway...

I was exploring possibly undercoat primer then an acrylic spray. I am NOT a fan of brushing skin tones. I do it when I have to but I feel like once you can see brushed skin, it stops being a figure and becomes an art project. I have a Jakks head of Ahmed Johnson and I want to use the Retro Rock body for him. I've been online scouting glossy brown acrylics. And I'm with ya on the Diesel. The Reigns moveset would be ideal. I might still try it though, and revise it. Haven't decided yet. I have the Elite Diesel and 2011 Nash heads sitting at home.

Here's the Retros I picked for RVD and Billy Gunn. I have several customs to start on, and I still have to go online to do some decal attire/tattoo searching for guys. Hoping to get to these soon. Also wish we had a good small guy Retro for guys like the Hardyz and X-Pac..

RVD in progress. I want to PS a yin-yang and "RVD" logo for upper body, then paint light red speckles everywhere else on attire.
