amp.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2017/0906/631905/anthem-reportedly-ready-to-sell-gfw/Global Force Wrestling is in a state of jeopardy, and things seem to be getting worse. After Jeff Jarrett took an indefinite leave of absence as Chief Creative Officer to focus on personal matters, Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso reports that GFW's parent company Anthem Sports and Entertainment is preparing to sell the wrestling commodity. Barrasso states that GFW is "hemorrhaging funds" and Anthem had to needed to "gut the Fight Network" just to finance GFW. It was just earlier this year that Anthem acquired the company after GFW's merger with TNA Impact Wrestling. Barrasso reports that since Jarrett technically owns the name of Global Force Wrestling, Anthem would technically be selling Impact Wrestling. Also, PWInsider reports that "multiple meetings" were held Tuesday afternoon to discuss the future of GFW. Members of the roster were called to reassure them of the company's stability in the wake of the Jarrett announcement. But with these latest reports, it seems that Anthem is looking for suitors to get rid of GFW. Barrasso reports that among the potential suitors are WWE, Ring Of Honor and former TNA investor Billy Corgan

I heard about this as well. Not much value other than the tape library. I'm hoping Vince buys it. Also owing the Broken rights would be cool and could make them some $$

Again? We can't go six months without TNA/Impact/GFW being the center of a fire sale rumor? It's beyond sad now.
At this point I'm ready for Vince to buy the name and tape library. Start airing a best of TNA series on the network so people who missed it can see the best of AJ, Joe, Roode, etc. against Christian, Sting, Booker T, RVD, and so on. Hopefully sign some of the top guys like EC III and Drake, maybe even Lashley, so they can get a(nother) shot with a stable company.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vince keep TNA alive as a Network exclusive brand but I really don't see that happening. I bet Anthem is regretting screwing Billy Corgan out of TNA now.

IF Vince bought TNA I don't expect him to keep it alive as a full time show on the Network. There is no name recognition considering nobody knows what the hell the name is anymore. If I had to guess, they'll use the tape library and cherry pick talent they want to bring into NXT or 205 Live. Besides that, I'm afraid there is no real value to the company anymore.

How can GFW be in trouble when its being ran by guys like Dutch Mantell, Jim Cornette and Bruce Prichard.... all young, viral, hip, with their fingers on the pulse of what's trendy. Oh wait.... they old.

Im not shocked they're hemorrhaging money to finance GFW. Its sad to hear for the wrestlers. I don't ever wanna see wrestlers get less work, but i think its best Anthem sell GFW to someone, and save their losses. Id pick either Corgan to sell to if youre keeping it alive, OR sell to Vince for the library and copyrights.

Another caveat in the story: Jeff Jarrett owns the GFW name so Anthem can only sell a company that for all intents and purposes doesn't exist.
This is getting better and better literally by the minute.

Yes....lets have Vince buy this company too so we can see the utter decline in the quality of professional wrestling sink to levels even lower than the lowest. While none of this is surprising....how fast it has sunk definitely is. Vince needs competition. Its the only way to get quality product. Not sure if the WWE roster has ever been more talented and yet is sitting at historically low creative programs. In essence, Vince takes a crapin a jar and the sheep chant...."THIS IS AWESOME".

Yeah I never expected him to do it. I would like to see it so there'd be more spots for people on the roster. I hate to see anyone lose their job, especially in the wrestling industry where spots are incredibly limited. Plus with WWE seemingly wanting to sign every indy today, they're going to need something to do. Keeping TNA around could help get them TV ready. Or be a step up from NXT but one step blue the main brands. It would be nice but I know it won't happen.

Not sure if the WWE roster has ever been more talented and yet is sitting at historically low creative programs. In essence, Vince takes a crap in a jar and the sheep chant...."THIS IS AWESOME". Name me one person within the WWE or other promotion or any wrestling fan who actually thinks TNA/Impact/GFW is competition for the WWE. Vince and his WWE juggernaut haven't had competition in almost twenty years since WCW went into the crapper and ECW, a modest challenge at best since Vince could buy and sell the entire ECW roster with his spare change, went bankrupt. From the WWE perspective, TNA was always a distant second, distant being measured in light years, even at its height around '06 - '08. ROH is barely a blip on the radar, a great place to recruit new talent from. And NJPW is just a bunch of Japanese guys who kick each other really hard all the damn time. There have been high points in WWE programming where the lack of competition didn't prevent them from putting out an entertaining product. SmackDown last year immediately after the brand split for example. The whole idea that Vince needs competition is as stale as John Cena's good guy act. Competition is just an extra kick in the butt but it isn't a required element for WWE to give us something good to watch.

The WWE roster is too big as it is. They could do an NXT invasion angle if they buy TNA

I hope they don't go under. I'm enjoying their show and their partnerships.
But this is probably just speculation.

Since when has TNA/GFW been a threat to WWE? I mean i can name a time where i enjoyed their shows more than WWE, but i can't name when they've been competition at all. TNA/GFW has always been a high level indy company with TV.

Sounds like Anthem is trying to flip the old girl.
Selfishly, it would be pretty sweet to get some matches from TNA's archive onto WWE DVD's, considering how many guys with history there are now under the WWE umbrella.
