Pre Show Match: Titus O’ Neil def. The Miz with Clash of The Titus
Announcers: Michael Hayes & JBL
Intercontinetal Championship match: Dolph Ziggler def. Tyler Breeze with a Superkick to retain the title. Fandango tried to interfere on Breeze’s behalf, but failed as he too got Superkicked off the apron by Dolph.
Big E & Xavier Woods come out representing New Day. They cut a promo about how Kofi, the ultimate underdog will win the Battleground Tournament tonight, because New Day Rocks. Chris Jericho’s theme hits. Y2J says he is so sick and fed up with New Day’s Stupid Idiot Games. Jericho has found himself a partner for tonight. Big Show comes out as we have a JeriShow reunion. New Day def. JeriShow when Big E pinned Jericho after a Big Ending.
Backstage: Stephanie McMahon, Mick Foley and Shane McMahon are in an office together. Steph regrets to inform Shane that the Extreme Authority is no longer in control of Raw. Shane says that is fine, because Smackdown is a better show anyway and that he and Randy Orton will prove why tonight. Shane also informs Stephanie & Foley that Paul Heyman has accepted his invite for Smackdown this week.
Paige def. Eva Marie with the PTO submission. Alberto Del Rio and Natalya watched backstage with a vested interest in this match.
Tag Team Championship Match: The Dudley Boyz def. Golden Truth to retain the tag team titles. The match concluded when Goldust thought he saw a Pokemon on his cell phone in the corner of the ring, but then he turned around and got a 3D as Bubba scored the pinfall victory.
Finals of Battleground Tournament: Rusev (w/ Lana) def. Kofi Kingston with an Accolade in an impressive performance by the Bulgarian Brute who dominated this entire match. Rusev will now challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Summerslam.
Main Event: Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton – Special Ref John Cena
Utter chaos erupted throughout the course of this match. Orton clotheslined Cena at one point, in what was a seemingly unintentional occurrence. Randy beat up Shane to the point where Shane O could barely stand. Daniel Bryan then made his debut wearing a referee shirt, confusing the hell out of the WWE Universe. A Yes Chant began but Bryan was met with an RKO Outta Nowhere upon entering the ring. Money In The Bank Champion Dean Ambrose came walking out with the briefcase. Dean came down to ringside and said he is thinking about cashing in his Money In The Bank right now. The announce team mentions that Lesnar is not even here tonight. Orton stares down Ambrose as Shane O hits a rollup on Orton, Cena recovers in time for a 2 count only. Ambrose circles the ring and begins yelling, “Not tonight!” as Ambrose leaves, the fans applaud The Lunatic’s behavior. JBL is going crazy at the announce table. As Shane and Orton get back to their feet, Shane is hit with an RKO as he is taken to ViperVille. Orton pins Shane 1-2-3 as Cena counts the fall in the ring. Orton helps Shane back to his feet as Shane, Orton & Cena stand tall. Stephanie comes out on to the ramp before the show ends and screams, “You may have won tonight Shane, but at Summerslam, we go to WAR!”
