Don't worry - you weren't alone. The Hogan-Bischoff Era was the most catastrophic thing to ever happen to TNA. And, for all intents and purposes, it's the thing that pretty much sunk them for good. I love TNA, and I hope they're able to keep going for a long while, but I can never see them reaching the amount of success they had during the prime years. If they do, it's going to take a long time. They've been off to a very good start the last two years, but they'll have to be consistently good for a few years to start winning people back, imo. The turnaround was insane. The PPVs before you had Joe, Daniels, and AJ feuding for the title. Hogan and Bischoff come in: Daniels jobs to Val Venis, Joe gets kidnapped by ninjas, and AJ becomes Ric Flair Lite. Add the Nasty Boys, Bubba the Love Sponge, and Abyss getting superpowers from a WWE HALL OF FAME ring and you are guaranteed a stinker! You forgot the best part...

I think the reason I originally gave up on TNA in the first place was because they brought in RVD and Jeff Hardy and started pushing other guys that at one time I was a huge fan of, but at that time frame they weren't what they were years before anymore and stopped pushing the home grown guys as much. Really put me in a bad place wrestling wise aside from ROH at the time. WWE hadn't interested me in years at that point, and anyone I still liked really wasn't drawing me in anymore and TNA was different. Then they stopped being different. It soured me for such a long long time. Don't worry - you weren't alone. The Hogan-Bischoff Era was the most catastrophic thing to ever happen to TNA. And, for all intents and purposes, it's the thing that pretty much sunk them for good. I've always been a huge Bischoff fan. I think Bischoff alone would have been fine. Bringing in Hogan and all his buddies is probably what did it really, and the fact that Bischoff will let Hogan run wild. That or maybe Bischoff didn't have much power. There has been some stuff I have enjoyed the past few years, but it isn't enough for me to praise either TNA or WWE really. For every good thing there is a bad thing to go with it. But that is just wrestling.

I only tried to forget that. It can never be repressed deep enough. Now that we repeated the image at least three times, the folks on here can have nightmares, too!

You're right to be afraid. TNA Orlando Jordan was like Rico and Big Dick Johnson turned up to 1000. I think I will skip that portion of TNA whenever I catch up on things I didn't see.

Literally the only redeeming thing I can think of from that era was Antichrist Jeff Hardy... until Victory Road happened. Maybe that one time they had The Beautiful People mud wrestle... 98% pure crap, though.
