So not only did Holly Holm not get an immediate rematch with Tate, she didn't even get a match at UFC 200. On top of that, her opponent is pretty tough in that she has a lot of experience in boxing/kickboxing as well.
It's obvious the UFC has an underlying agenda here. But I wonder what it's for. It's between 2 scenarios in my opinion.
1) They are punishing her for not taking their advice to wait for the Rousey rematch, which would have likely shattered every UFC attendance/buy record ever.
2) In an effort to revitalize Rousey's image to its best again, they are marginalizing Holm as much as possible because they want people to forget about her. Maybe they're afraid of having Rousey fight her again. It's an interesting phenomenon. Rousey can beat Tate any day. Holm beat Rousey. But yet Tate is just a really bad matchup for Holm. Dana White knew that, which is why he advised Holm not to fight Tate.
More likely than not, it's a combination of both of these scenarios.
Thoughts?

UFC is fake and scripted.
Kidding aside, I've actually noticed that as well, but I'm a Rousey fan anyways so doesn't hurt my feelings at all.

She should have had her rematch as soon as it was possible but they know damn well that Rousey can beat Tate so they're purposely keeping Holm away so their golden girl can return and go right back to the top. I see it. I think it's bad booking but then again I'm not a successful UFC event booker so what do I know.

They can marginalize her all they want, but no one will forget her KO over Rousey. If she keeps winning, Rousey won't be able to duck her forever, regardless of the UFC's efforts. But Holly really REALLY needs to work on her ground game. Luckily, she has pretty decent takedown defense. But man, once she gets taken to the ground, she's like a fish out of water. In spite of that, I don't think she'll make the same mistake she made with Tate again. I'd really love for Rousey to come back and whoop Tate's ass. She has been talking so much **** to a person that whooped her ass twice. I also wouldn't be surprised if Tate lobbied UFC to not give Holm the immediate rematch. Holm had that fight unanimous by decision until one fatal mistake. She had 3 of the previous 4 rounds won for sure. I think Tate was scared to face Holm again. And deep down she's even more afraid to face Rousey again. It's easy to talk smack when your opponent has no immediate plans to return. We'll see how crap she talks after Ronda fights her in New York (assuming she beats Nunes).

Hmm... interesting. I am really surprised they went this route with Holm... I would have LOVED a Tate/Holm rematch at UFC 200 - it would have really made the card more special. And I suppose a lot will depend on how long Rousey is out for... if Tate and Holm both win - and Rousey still hasn't announced when (or if) she's coming back, then surely they HAVE to go with the Tate/Holm rematch(?)
