Been browsing these forums for a long time and they have finally inspired me getting into doing my own figure fed, started collecting way back in December 2001, after watching the whole Invasion storyline on TV and I have loved Wrestling ever since, first Christmas I started I recieved The Rock, Stone Cold, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Rikishi, Kane & The Undertaker as well as a ring. I immediately began making up my own ideas with what I had available.
First card I did was
The Undertaker Vs Kane
Triple H & Chris Jericho Vs The Rock & Stone Cold
(Losing team would challenge for the Intercontinental Championship, the winners for the WWE Championship, ultimately The Rock walked away WWE Champion and Triple H as IC Champ.)
The following week I purchased a box of ten wrestlers with a European Championship belt which then added the likes of Edge, Matt Hardy, Chris Benoit, Jeff Hardy etc to my list
And from there my collection continued to exapand up until 2005 when I was buying ECW and TNA guys, doing my own weekly shows and monthly PPV's, my bro was SmackDown, I was RAW, but then I got too old and lost interest.
Until this place inspired me that I can collect but at the same time it doesn't have to be childish, more like a hobby, the way I see it is a bit like when people design Warhammer dioramas, this is no different.
Was always a fan of the Jakks Ruthless Aggression figures, but have really started loving the Mattel ones now.
Current collection consists of The Rock with WWE Championship, Mickie James & AJ Lee (Was going to do a Diva exclusive figure fed, until I saw the likes of Kevin Owens coming out soon.)
I'm in a job that pays well, so my plan is to purchase one Superstars every Monday for a year, and a Diva every month, by the end of 2016 I hope to have around 62 Superstars and 15 Divas as well as some playsets, ring, stage, barricade etc
A few questions for people that have experience with figure feds.
1 - Do you use alternate attires to mix things up a little?
(Am thinking of alternating attires for AJ Lee, her green top figure, pink and black walmart exclusive figure and Love Bites top figure, to add a sense of realism)
2 - Do heritage figures match with the Elite and Basic Series?
3 - What do you do for the crowd?
(Am also thinking of collecting some Walking Dead figures, because I love that show, may decide to stick them in the crowd as most of them are wearing casual clothing.)
4 - Do we have to use made up show names for copyright purposes or can we do RAW and Smackdown?
Thanks in advance and I look forward to the day I can offically start my own figure fed.
