After almost a week here goes my 2 cents as far as the voting goes:

Match 1 I have to go with Tibbs on this one a lot more work went into this custom the hair molding is nicely done. Angus just not feeling Norman Smiley here. you did a good job.

Match 2 have to go with JPD you picked an awesome figure and you nailed it.

Match 3 I have to go with Titantrap that fake leg does the trick for me.

Match 4 I have too go with gatecitysinner never seen him done before. Import I love the little Boogey

Match 5 TCKDeen all the way your UFC guy rocked that Round.

Match 6 Beyondo all the way never seen a Mankind so awesome as that. Scott Hall you got some pretty good customs there,

match 7 I have to go with GORE the Artist formerly known as Goldust is just awesome. No offence but Ahmed Johnson is nice but just tired of seeing the guy. Love the sculpting.

Finals of the Customania Tournament…
Oozing Machismo vs. TCKDeen

Oozing… this is a very nice representation of on of the most infamous night in wrestling… I enjoy this figure a lot, as it has a very clean overall look. The pose itself looks very nice, and I like the expression on his face. Starting with the head, I couldn’t tell you what was used, as it appears to be modded quite a bit, but it really works for Douglas. It has his big mouth down and overall just looks like him a lot. I enjoy how you modified the parts to a point where it is not really obvious that they are RA parts. The sculpting on the torso and arms looks top notch. It does appear that there may be some areas where the sculpting material could have been sanded down a little more, (especially on the chest in the pec region.) I commend you on taking this custom to the next level and making it fully posed. The sculpting on the legs again is excellent, you might want to add some more texture to the trunks with wrinkles and whatnot, but it does look very smooth. The kneepads likewise look very smooth, they could use more texture as well, but that is quite trivial. I assume you went off of some sort of reference picture of video, so I’m sure the kneepads are accurate to that era. Boots are very clean as well… Looks like you might have used the tassels from one of the WCW figures, which works wit this posed custom. I really like the paintjob on the skintone and whatnot. The tanned tone is great for Douglas and does not have a chalky or pink look like many people seem to have trouble with. I am quite amazed by the script on the back of the tights, it is simply excellently painted. Great work with that. The one thing I am not such a fan of is the paintjob on the head… While it does resemble Douglas very well, it looks quite “cartoony” if you will. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but something about it gives off an unrealistic feel. Part of that may be the paintjob on the hair and brows, it is a bit too yellow and could use some different colors in there. I’m never a fan of the solid hair color unless it is what truly fits. Other than that, it is an awesome figure… I love the additions of the Toybiz NWA title and the microphone, they really complete the pose. Great work.

Now for TCKDeen’s Bisping… Unlike many who have voted on this match, I am fairly knowledgeable in the UFC and its personalities Overall I think this is one of your best works that I have seen. What I like most about the thing is its originality… Rarely do you see MMA customs around here and when you do, it’s always either Chuck or Tito, so kudos for you for going with something different. Starting at the head, it works to some degree. It bears a resemblance to Bisping, but the paintjob on it eliminates a lot of detail and just makes it look kind of plain whether it is your pics or the actual figure, you really can’t make out much in terms of facial details. Moving down, I like what you have done with the ripped torso with the modifications to the abs and sides of the torso. IT does work well for Bisping’s physique. I think it would look better with cruiser arms however; the HW ones just seem huge in comparison to the rest of the body and just basing it off of Bisping’s actual appearance. I do like the detail put into the hands with the tape and UFC logos. Good work. The legs are easily the best attribute of the figure… I like that you modded up some legs to most accurately represent the shorts most guys wear… Good work with the cutting and attaching of the lower portion of the legs as well… It looks nice and clean. Obviously what stands out most about the custom is the badass job on the camo paintjob. It looks very clean and very lifelike. Many people struggle with camo prints, but you pulled it off well… However, what cheapens the look of the figure for me is what appears to be a decal or printout for the Xyience logo. I would have appreciated it much more if you had done it by hand. Correct me if I am mistaken on the decal, but with all the work put into the camo designs, why not just go out and paint that up too? The lower legs look good… Good use of the Snuka legs and whatnot. The skintone looks decent… may be a bit thick, and it looks like there is a possibility of paint rubbing on the arm joints. Chest hair similarly looks good. Clean and gets the job done… Other than the obviously cool shorts I especially like the accessories you included with the figure. You took the time to take it one step further with the contract, heavy bag and newspaper… Its things like these that make good figure great.

My vote goes to Oozing Machismo… He put out a very solid posed figure that deserves the recognition of 2 time Customania Winner!

You've got some really good eyes, man. I did have a little trouble getting all the rough areas out of the chest, and yes, those tassles once belonged to Macho Man. It killed me to take that figure apart, since it was my absolute favorite of the Toybiz WCW line.

Three Way

Lots of controversy in this situation now wasn’t there…

Let’s start it off with my vote then break it down…

My vote for the winner of this match goes to Beyondo’s Mankind. It is easily the best figure in this match and I feel it deserves recognition regardless of all the controversy.

Me Gust Guster’s Undertaker… While it is a solid representation of the Taker from 1996, something about it bothers me… The head looks good from what I can see… Looks like maybe the older scan that Jakks used for their Undertaker from this same era. The hair looks good, realistic and thick, and the mask sculpting is decent. I enjoyed the mods to the torso making it bulkier and more him.. The arms, I’m not much a fan of… while the tattoos are all there, I’m not a fan of how they were done. Perhaps it is just that they look too scribbled. Good work with the glove sculpting, but they look huge in comparison to the rest of the body. The legs look rather rough to me… I can’t tell what you used as far as upper legs, but something about them looks a bit odd. It looks as though you might have used the trunks legs, and sculpted some to blend, but it just comes off as rough.. I would recommend going with the simple Jakks tights upper legs, it would have given a much cleaner look. My favorite part of this figure is the boots. I love how you sculpted the boot covers with texture and wrinkles and whatnot.. Good stuff. I also enjoy the paintjob on the purple elements a lot. Something about this figure is just missing. Seems like you could have done a lot more with the character and maybe added some accessories and whatnot. It’s not a bad custom by any means, just missing that special something.

ScotxxnwoxxHall’s Muta (/Liger)… Well first of all, it is extremely difficult to judge and critique this custom based off the pictures. Without straight and extensive shots, it is hard to see everything involved here. I like the Muta a good amount… I like the use of the new hand mold for Muta, as well as the Rey Mysterio pants and Regal torso mold.. They parts seem to compliment each other fairly well. I also enjoy the detail work put into the entrance gears. However there aren’t extensive pictures of all angles of the figures. The Muta is the much better of the two customs, as I am not much a fan of the Liger. Like I said with more elaborate pictures I could have probably gone into more detail, but otherwise, that’s about it.

Beyondo’s Mankind… Other than a few things I am not especially a fan of, this is a near perfect Mankind ’96 custom. All of the sculpting done here is excellent. You have truly set a standard of excellence in terms of sculpting here. All of the detail put into the mask is amazing. I love how each piece is sculpted separately, and not just blobbed together. I also enjoy how you did the whole bald spot gimmick. Its details like this that really make your work stand out. The two things I would say could make this figure better is a more detailed hairsculpt, as it just seems to be lacking proper detail, and possibly a larger frame to work off of. I realize Foley was in excellent shape during this run as Mankind, but he’s always been a bigger dude and I think there are more suitable choices out there for a base body. Otherwise, the sculpting on the shirt is phenomenal. The details put into the logos and the texture and rips you added to the shirt are extraordinary. I find myself saying this a lot, but I also love the hand… How you gave him the finger cover for the mandible claw whereas most people would just paint it on. Good stuff. The legs too are excellent. I like the kneepad sculpt, and how you painted the trace logos on there… It’s the attention to detail that makes this figure easily the best of the match… Moving down to the boots, they are done wonderfully with the sculpted over laces and applied straps. Awesome work there… Overall the paintjob on the figure is top notch. I enjoy the skintone a lot, and the browns you used are perfect for the gear. Very impressive sir… It is work like this that makes you one of the best on the board!

It was a long time coming, but I finally got to the main event of the Customania card… and much to the approval of everyone, this match-up is the closest we’ve seen in quite a while. Two very different customs here, each with their own awesome attributes! Let’s get into it…

First I’ll start with Famous J’s Ahmed Johnson… This figure is quite awesome. Simply put, FamousJ never fails to amaze me, and seemingly everyone else here. This figure is no different, and follows his trend of awesome customs. Starting at the head like usual… I’m not sure exactly what you used for Ahmed, but with the mods you have made it works awesome, Has that pissed off irritated look Ahmed always had. The facial hair sculpt looks great, and I love the attention to detail put into things like the earrings and breathe right nose strip. Awesome stuff. Moving down… The torso mods are very nice as well. You really captured Ahmed’s awkwardly huge and bizarre physique quite well with the huge pecs and whatnot. What bothers me about it is the lines sculpted on the chest between the pecs, I understand what you were trying to do, but it just looks odd. Arms look good as well. Looks like you bulked up the biceps some which is great for Johnson, and the arm bands and wrist tape looks sweet on there. Usually when people sculpt wrist tape, it ends up looks like wrist cats, but you managed to make it look right.. Good stuff. I like what you did with the tights and the “belt-like” thing. I’m glad you added it to the torso, giving the appearance of the tights sitting higher up on his abdomen. As gay as this may sound, what would have been awesome is if you had made the tights a little higher up and almost showing off some of his ass cheeks. If there is one thing I shouldn’t remember about him, that I do, it’s that he always had a wedgie, and in 9 out of 10 matches his ass cheeks were hangin’ out. The highlight of this figure definitely comes in the form of the leg pads. You captured his look perfectly with this one… I love the sculpted pads on his thighs and I love how you made them look so realistic with the overlapping straps on the back. Excellent attention to detail. The boots look real nice… Looks like you modded up the Kane mold a bit. You again, captured Ahmeds gear to near perfection. The kickpads with the straps and everything look very clean and work well for this custom. What I noticed however is the awkwardness of the positioning of the lower legs. It gives the figure a weird stance as they seem to bend inward. This is a near perfect figure from you FamousJ and paired with the classic IC title, really is reminiscent of the Attitude Era.


Now.. onto the challenger… Gore’s Artist Formally Known As… GOLDUST. Gore, this is a very unique and original custom here. You managed to take the Goldust character to the next level with this custom. It’s really an awesome, bright, vibrant and colorful piece, which is pretty much what this persona was all about. Starting at the head, it’s really well pulled off… Most would have a hard time finding a head that works for this application, but somehow you managed to pull it off with ease. The whole thing from the ball gag accessory to the face paint (which appears to fade into the hair), to the pink hair and so on… just looks awesome. The torso also is magnificent. I want to say you used the Regal torso and sculpted on the bodysuit shirt and whatnot. Wrinkles and everything look realistic and well placed. Obviously the torso really stands out on this figure… You nailed the shoulder spike deals, and the spike bra to perfection. I like that on the bra, rather than sculpting it on you, used different elements to make it look realistic. Awesome stuff. I love the use of the chains especially! It looks like there might be some roughness on the back where it could have seen sanded a little more, but much like with Oozing’s Douglas that is quite minimal. Moving down, how brilliant is the g-string? Yeah, it simply looks incredible, it again looks like you used an outside element rather than sculpting it on which is awesome. Great work with that and wonderful attention to detail with the crosshatched pattern on the crotch. I really enjoy the arm choice for this figure. The regal arms give off the same look that Dustin had going on and fits his physique with the torso real well. The tattoos are all there and all look good as well. Finally moving onto the legs, I like the choices here again. Looks like the skinnier leg mold to me, which works well for him and compliments the figure’s shape. Again, good accurate wrinkles and whatnot… Snuka feet work well for him, I don’t know if anyone else noticed it, but Gore went to the max with detail on this one... he made the bottom of the feet dirty from the arena… That’s amazing. With the garter type things and pipe cleaners, it really finishes off this awesome custom. Again, the accessories set it over the top with the walker and leash and posed with Luna just looks amazing. You never fail to amaze Gore..


This was definitely the hardest match for me to judge. Both figures are so well done, that it sucks to have to choose just one. My vote… Well, in a tough decision, my vote goes to the winner, and new Customizing Champion, GORE. His figure was just sooo well done, so much detail put into it, and the thing that made it stand out the most, its originality. There have been numerous Ahmeds on the board (granted none were even close to touching J’s), but Gore’s rendition of the Artist just made it a damn near unbeatable custom. Excellent work to both gentlemen… Gore, congrats on you win as I believe I was the deciding vote, and FamousJ… well what can be said about FamousJ that hasn’t been said already. Amazing customizers and he will definitely be back!

Great Match! Congratulations to a worthy Champ. You beat my best custom so far. Maybe not my most creative, but as far as quality that is my best custom so far. I've had mixed feeling about the match. I absolutely wanted to win, but really need the time off. So I am satisfied...for now. Well back to changing diapers & all that "daddy stuff", I'll be back though.

Maybe I'll bring the "big guy" with me next time and we can get those Tag Titles. What do you think GM?
