Kevin Owens came out at tonight's WWE NXT TV tapings with the NXT Title belt in a match against Neville that should air on the August 26th or September 2nd episode.
This could indicate that Owens defeats current NXT Champion Finn Balor in their "Takeover: Brooklyn" Ladder Match on August 22nd. For what it's worth, they taped the go-home episode tonight and it ended with Balor standing on top of the ladder saying he will beat Owens at Takeover.
In another potential spoiler, Sasha Banks came out with the NXT Women's Title for a match against the debuting Gionna Daddio. It appears that match also airs after Takeover, where Sasha will be defending against Bayley.
It is possible that WWE could be pulling swerves to protect the finish of the Takeover matches. We'll keep you updated on any more information that becomes available.

If so, that would be awesome. I never understood why a wrestler on the "MAIN" roster can't be champion in NXT. It takes away from NXT storylines when you know ahead of time that so and so is leaving so he has to drop the title.
Do it like they did with Paige. Keep her champion until she wins a main roster title, or until she drops it in a way that makes sense.

I love how if this was TNA, people would be all over it. I remember when just a few weeks ago, TNA did a TV taping before Slammiversary and it gave away what was going to happen at Slammiversary and people complained about that. Yet, NXT does it and nobody cares.

Owen's wasn't introduced as NXT Champion, and the Sasha match could easily be a dark match done to throw people off.

Yet, NXT does it and nobody cares. It's very possible that it was done to throw off the scent. If they did spoil TakeOver, then they are indeed almost as dumb as TNA. NXT gets no pass from me if they spoiled their show. I do think it was done to mess with people since the opposite outcomes make much more sense.

I tried to post this once and it messed up so if it appears twice on here, that is why haha Anyway, as I said, I never understood why they would tape matches before a big event to air after a big event, especially now with the internet. Back in the early 90s or 80s it could be done, nobody would be the wiser, but it can't happen now. As for Sasha and Owens, if they do keep/win belts, then clearly Vince has no plans for them on the main roster. And I also read Neville is back on NXT against Owens?? I think Vince needs to just leave NXT alone. It's like he doesn't know what to do with the guys and gals there. And it just keeps messing up what Triple H has planned too probably in NXT.

I'm willing to bet these both are red herrings.

Maybe it's even a steal? Maybe Owens pulls an Ambrose and steals the belt? Either way, the good news for Owens fans is that he's still with NXT it seems...possibly even for a third match with Balor.

I'm guessing in Owens' case, he attacks Balor and steals the belt.Either at Takeover or in a backstage segment on NXT. It fits him perfectly.
Banks is harder to say. It could be a swerve and the match won't actually air. It could be moved to this weeks show, even though that's not when it was taped, or she could still be the champion.
I guess we'll find out Saturday.

I'm thinking Sasha's is a red herring for sure and her match is potentially a dark match and Owens is either a red herring or he steals the belt.

Owens/Balor will have some kind of screwy finish where Owens takes the belt but Balor is still champ, and Sashs's will be a dark match...

I never understood the concept of doing tappings for after a "PPV" before a "PPV"

I never understood the concept of doing tappings for after a "PPV" before a "PPV" -WMD I agree. They really should re-arrange the tapings and the live events so that they aren't forced to tape events that will take place after a live event. But WWE is in a tough spot right now where they have a live NXT show on Saturday and they need to air something taped for Tuesday. Their only other option would be to tape NXT on Monday before RAW in either the same arena as RAW, which would totally throw of the entire environment...or, they send everybody back to Florida right after Takeover and try and get it done Sunday or Monday (which hurts your roster because some people will have to pull double duty (Owens, Sasha Banks). I guess they could also try and do NXT live on Tuesday....but again, that has it's disadvantages too. Live TV is harder and more costly to produce, and again, it hurts your roster because you won't have certain people for the Smackdown taping. It really is a no-win situation for WWE. Just a bad scheduling conflict.

Why couldn't they just film alternate segments/angles with Balor/Bayley?

In wwe, always expect both scenarios, they do swerves all the time
