AWA Hennig & 1990 GAB Sting (Added 7/27)

Here's an AWA Curt Hennig - I have to touch up the white, but don't know if I'm going to leave his head as is or redo his hair.


Here's what I've done for Razor so far -


And here's a TTL/RA Jericho -

With CS9 Flair - (He's a little tall here)




I used the SHW torso, because that's the only torso the Drago head looks to scale on. Plus at the 1990 GAB Sting was billed at 270lbs and Rick Steiner was around 240lbs, but with the torso Jakks gave the CS11 Steiner...Rick is huge next to most figures. So this balances them out. I could make him shorter by giving him the Kane boot mold, but that would make his head look too large again. And here's a pic of Sting with my custom Rick Steiner and the Best of WCW Flair...and he fits in very nicely here.



I don't know if I'll do it or not, but I still have to mold his boots to the biker boots. And make his stars a little neater.

the henning looks good, but is the shw torso a good choice?? i thought in awa he was a more thinner, but i could be wrong. great start to the razor, it looks much better. i'm really liking the jericho hybrid since it looks great. i was wondering how did you get the arms to fit evenly to the torso without them sticking out so much??? and does the new kick pads help bring the figure to the same height as other ra's???

I like henning for the most part but the torso is a bad choice but its your figure if your happy thats all that matters.

Thanks for the input. Hennig wasn't lean/thin when he was the AWA champion. His torso was sort of thick/stocky -

So I went with the SHW torso as it's thick and is the one torso with the least defined abs...which I feel looks closest to him.

As for the Jericho - When I split the torso I added some tape to the end of the stems in the shoulders so they set farther back inside the torso. The boots actually make him a little too tall next to an RA.

they all look good i love how the jericho works cuz he was never ... EVER half as big as the ra figs so great job the and the henning would probally worked better with the regal torso

and this is just my opinion but the hair on razor looks odd

Curt Henning looks great. The painting looks smooth and clean, if you didn't say you painted it - I would of thought it was factory done.
I would give him a bit of a hair cut/trim to really capture that AWA era.

Razor - I was thinking about doing the same thing to my Wrestlemania 10 - ladder match exclusive. Looks good so far, can't wait to see the finished product, What did you use to mold with? GREAT JOB

I like the Henning. His attire is spot on. What attire are you going for with razor?(you ever thought of his baby blue attire?) His hair could use something to make it look oily though. Anyway,looking forward to the finished product.

great work man. i like the sculpted hair on razor. jericho works too. i always liked that attire the most with the barb wire. hennig looks good, but i still can't picture him being that big.

that henning is great,razors hair needs some sort of "wet" looking finish, and Y2J is simply awsome. i neveer understand why jakks never resized old parts for new figs.

lol the cat. I think all of them look good. I just got done watching the GAB on 24/7 I think you did real well on that custom. I don't know if I like the Drago head. I am kinda still unsure about it.But it was something different and thats cool. The painting looks incredible smooth. It is a extremely good custom and I like the SHW torso on him anyway. So what series is needles from.

I love how one person spells it "Henning" and everyone follows suit. It's "Hennig"

But I love your custom, you have done tremendous work on both of them. Keep it up.
