Destiny show 1:
The show opens with Mike Tenay and Tazz, your CWF Destiny announcers,
welcoming the fans to the show, then Tenay introduces the Destiny General
Manager; Paul Heyman. Heyman came out to the ring to welcome the fans to CWF
and to Destiny. He said that his destiny is to forge out his new wrestling
empire, and that CWF brings you the best wrestling in the world. He said
that along with their brothers in the Adrenaline brand, they were gonna lead
the way in what he called the new wrestling revolution. He then announced
that there will be an 8-man tournament, starting tonight, to crown the first
Destiny World champion. There will be 4 first round matches in the next two
weeks and the champion will be crowned at Destiny #4 three weeks from
tonight. He then ran down the card for tonight’s show, again thanked the
fans for coming out and introduced the wrestlers in the first match
1.Destiny World Title Tournament First Round: Kurt Angle pinned Chris
Jericho (17:48)
After a back and forth contest which saw some excellent chain wrestling,
Jericho appeared on the verge of winning after hitting the Lionsault but
Angle kicked out and as Jericho climbed the ropes, Angle rushed him and hit
a Top Rope Angle Slam on Jericho, allowing Angle to win the match by
pin-fall
AMW cut a short promo backstage, basically saying that they were in CWF to
establish themselves as the world’s best tag team and they were on a mission
to win the tag titles, and their mission began tonight with Rey Mysterio and
Juventud Guerrera
2.America’s Most Wanted beat Rey Mysterio and Juventud Guerrera when Chris
Harris pinned Juvy Guerrera (15:37)
AMW took control early by isolating Juventud Guerrera, but then Juvy got a
hot tag to Mysterio who came in, cleaned house and did some damage, only for
Storm to super kick him and giving AMW control again. After a 5-minute AMW
beat down on Mysterio, Rey was able to fight back and tag in Juvy. Juvy took
control and positioned Harris for the 450 Splash but Storm pulled his
partner out of harms way and after Harris knocked out Rey, AMW hit the Death
Sentence on Juvy for the win via pin-fall
Triple H was interviewed backstage by Shane Douglas. He said that tonight he
would prove his dominance to the world and prove that Samoa Joe is an
overrated fatass who doesn’t deserve to lace his boots. He promises victory
in both this match and the title tournament
3.Chairs match: Sabu pinned Masato Tanaka (10:04)
This was an insane battle of chair warfare. Sabu started by hitting his
usual chair moves including the Triple Jump Moonsault, but Tanaka fought
back simply by absolutely hammering Sabu in the head with a chair, denting
the chair severely. Sabu fought back and after a table was brought in Sabu
hit the Atomic Arabian Face Buster through the table for the pin-fall win
MNM are in Paul Heyman’s office and are complaining about being left off the
card for the first Destiny show. Melina claims that MNM are the top tag team
in the world, which brings out AMW who insist that if MNM want to prove they
are the best, they need to do what AMW do and prove it in the ring by
beating any opponent. Melina says MNM could beat AMW, but AMW just laugh and
leave. Melina looks angry and marches MNM out of Heyman’s office. Heyman is
left looking slightly bemused
4.Team Canada (Eric Young, Bobby Roode and Petey Williams) beat Carlito,
Chris Sabin and Christopher Daniels when Williams pinned Sabin (9:55)
This was a short, sweet and simple X Division style bout with everyone
rushing in and hitting their big moves. The match ended when after Daniels
and Carlito had both hit Suicide Dives onto Eric Young and Bobby Roode on
the outside, Williams and Sabin were left alone in the ring. The referee was
distracted by Roode, allowing Williams to low blow Sabin and hit the
Canadian Destroyer for the win
A.J Styles cut a short promo saying that it will be an honour to step in the
ring with a Japanese legend like Jushin Liger and that he knows how big
beating a star like Liger would be for his career. Styles promises Liger he
will give him his best shot tonight
5.A.J Styles pinned Jushin Thunder Liger (20:13)
In what many would call an ultimate junior heavyweight dream match, Liger
and Styles went at it from the early going with brilliant exchanges of
technical wrestling. However then they attempted to outdo each other in high
flying moves. Liger hit his Asai Moonsault to the outside, but Styles came
back with the Fosbury Flop over the ropes. The match ended when Liger had
Styles up for the Liger Bomb but Styles got out, hit the Pele and while
Liger was dazed Styles rolled him up, set up the Styles Clash and hit it to
win the match via pin-fall
Kurt Angle is interviewed backstage by Mick Foley, who asks about his
tournament win and Angle claims that this is step one on his journey to

tournament, and that it is “his” destiny and no one else
6.Mitsuharu Misawa and Jun Akiyama beat KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji when
Misawa pinned KENTA (22:26)
This match was slow in the early going with Misawa and Akiyama methodically
dominating both KENTA and Marufuji. Then, at about the 10 minute mark, KENTA
and Marufuji took the advantage with flying moves. KENTA and Marufuji looked
close to victory when Marufuji hit the Shiranui on Akiyama but Akiyama
kicked out and tagged in Misawa. Misawa won the match for his team when,
after Akiyama hit Marufuji with a Wrist Clutch Exploder on the outside,
Misawa hit the Tiger Driver ’91 on KENTA for the win by pin-fall
Samoa Joe is interviewed backstage by Shane Douglas. In his usual cool and
calm voice, Joe proclaims that HHH is deluded if he thinks Joe will be easy
to beat. He admits that HHH has beaten everybody he has ever stepped into
the ring with, but only because he has never stepped in the ring with Samoa
Joe. Joe doesn’t promise victory over HHH, but he does promise pain
7.Kenta Kobashi pinned Shelton Benjamin (17:21)
This was a simple match which was mostly dominated by Kobashi. Benjamin
tried his best to beat Kobashi and had success with high flying manoeuvres
like the Springboard Clothesline but he was unable to put him away and
Kobashi won with a Burning Lariat followed by a pin
Paul Heyman backstage announces the other first round matches for next week:
Undertaker versus Mitsuharu Misawa and Chris Benoit versus Kenta Kobashi. He
also announces that the two other semi-finalists who don’t advance will
square off in a match to decide the first number one contender for the title
at the first CWF pay-per-view; CWF Unleashed. He also announces that
starting in two weeks there will be a CWF-wide Tag team title tournament.
Two teams from each brand will battle each other in a mini-tournament and
the winning teams will face off at CWF Unleashed and the winners will be the
CWF tag team champions. Heyman says he will announce the teams in the
Destiny tournament next week at Destiny #2. He also says that before next
weeks show a vote will take place in which the fans get to decide on
combatants in a match or the stipulation for a match. He said he would make
the announcement of the candidates during the week
8.Destiny World Title Tournament First Round: Samoa Joe pinned Triple H
(20:46)
Joe dominated the early part of this match by using his superior striking
abilities, but after a well-timed low blow Triple H took the advantage.
However Joe fought back with high impact moves and, after a short exchange
on the outside, Joe scored the biggest win of his distinguished career when
he pinned Triple H cleanly following the Muscle Buster. After the match
Triple H was livid and starting throwing chairs around ringside and we see
Joe laughing at HHH from the ramp as the show ends
