Christian: Greetings, American idiots, tonight we come here not to brag but to complain, Edge.
Edge: Vince McMahon, in case you missed the first ever episode of Darkness, I’ve got a clip to show to you (Edge is shown pinning Chavo Guerrero) now if that doesn’t draw your attention, what will? I gave you a stellar opening match to the start this new company off and you never rewarded me with a title shot, it’s despicable.
(He gives Jericho hold of the microphone)
Jericho: Now, I’m sure everyone heard an announcement a few minutes ago regarding a certain TLC match for the tag team titles involving the Dudleyz, Hardyz and MNM. Where were the Charismatics on that list, huh?
(He hands it to Carlito)
Carlito: That’s not cool, we demand title shots and we demand them now.
(Heyman takes over)
PH: So in that case, Vince or Shane whoever runs this god dam place. We are hungry for title shots and we want them now, if not you can kiss goodbye to your precious champions because they’ll become victims of the Charismatics.
(He drops the mike and they leave)
(Break)
First Main Event
The Rock vs. ?
JR: Welcome back to Darkness, the WWF Champion, The Rock is in the ring and waiting anxiously for Chris Benoit’s opponent of choice.
(The lights go out and lightning strikes the stage then a familiar gong is heard)
PH: My god, JR, it’s The Undertaker.
JR: The Undertaker debuting tonight here on Darkness.
PH: The Rock looks shocked, he sure has a lot of work to do.
The Undertaker arrives from the stage into the ring and removes his entrance attire.
JR: This isn’t the first time these two individuals have met and they have quite a history.
PH: What a cue by Benoit!
The Rock stares down the Undertaker and holds a hand out. The Undertaker stays fixed in a position but gradually moves forward as the two grasp hands for a mere few seconds. The Rock starts a test of strength and both men exert pressure on each other, Taker knees Rock in the stomach and hits a few right hands. He stamps on Rock’s fallen body and lifts him up for a powerslam which connects with a thunderous thud. Taker locks Rock into a triangle choke and adds pressure to the neck area.
(Break)
Taker is still in control as we rejoin Darkness. The Rock is passing out as the referee lifts Rock’s arm up for one, then two but Rock keeps his arm up the third time and receives a rush of adrenaline. He starts to battle out of the hold and elbows Taker in the gut. He gains control and performs a quick belly to belly suplex. He then whips Taker into the ropes and hits a Samoan drop. He goes for the cover but gets a two count. He whips Taker into the turnbuckle and starts Layin’ the smackdown until Taker fights out and pulls Rock’s arm closer to him, he goes up to the ropes and starts balancing on them.
JR: Undertaker going for Old School here.
PH: This could backfire.
Taker jumps but The Rock catches him in a precarious position and hits a Rock Bottom.
PH: I told you JR, it was obvious.
Both men are down in the centre of the ring as The Rock crawls over Taker, the ref counts one, two… and Taker kicks out!
JR: Some great desire being shown by these athletes here, Paul.
The referee begins the count as Chris Benoit is shown walking to ringside with a steel chair in hand. He opens the chair out and sits down with his arms folded whilst Rock and Taker struggle to get to their feet. Rock sees Benoit and starts talking trash while he gets to his feet. Taker is also up and the two men start to slug it out, The Rock gains momentum and hits a standing spinebuster on the Undertaker. Benoit then rises from his chair and gets closer to the ring. The Rock signals for the People’s Elbow and starts the move.
JR: Rock looking to end this here.
As Rock bounces off the ropes Benoit runs into the ring and clubs him in the back of the neck and locks the cross face in. (The Bell Rings for a DQ) He doesn’t let go until Undertaker, the referee and other officials pull him off. Benoit then walks back up the ramp and signals to The Rock that he wants the title as The Rock as Rock is helped to his feet.
TC: The winner of this match as a result of DQ, The Rock.
JR: That damn Benoit, he could have broken The Rock’s neck.
PH: Benoit’s a smart man, his title shot is 2 weeks away, so he has the brain cells to injure his opponent before the time so he has a distinct advantage.
(Break)
JR: We are back live and now we go backstage to the Coach for a word with Randy Orton.
(The camera pans backstage where Coach is standing outside Orton’s locker room)
Coach: Thanks, JR, I’m standing outside Randy Orton’s locker room hopefully to get a word.
Coach knocks the door and waits by nobody answers, he opens the door.
Coach: Hi, Randy, are you in here?
Coach continues to look around but doesn’t find Orton.
(The camera pans back to ringside)
JR: There it is right there, stone cold evidence, Orton ran down Bret Hart!
PH: Nonsense JR, its probably just a coincidence.
JR: Nevertheless, the second half of our Main Event is next.
PH: Chris Benoit versus a mystery opponent.
Chris Benoit vs. ?
‘Whatever’ plays as Benoit struts to the ring arrogantly with a toothy grin.
TC: In the ring, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Chris Benoit.
TC: And his opponent……….
‘Aint No Stopping Me’ hits as Shelton Benjamin walks out to the ring to a loud cheer.
TC: From Orangeburg, South Carolina, weighing in at 245 lbs, Shelton Benjamin.
JR: It looks like we’ll be in for a technical match here.
PH: Indeed, JR, this is exciting.
Benoit and Benjamin tie up in the centre of the ring and start to jockey for position. Benoit gains and early advantage and gets Benjamin into a corner, he immediately starts chopping away at Shelton’s flesh and takes him down with a clothesline. He stamps away at Shelton’s body and picks him up he hits a snap suplex and heads to the top rope with a deranged look in his eyes.
JR: This could be risky for Benoit here.
Benoit goes for the Diving Headbutt but Shelton rolls out of the way as both men are down.
JR: Did you see that surgically repaired neck of Benoit’s snap onto the canvas that must of hurt!!
PH: No doubt, JR, Benoit could be weakened going into Survival of the Fittest.
Shelton is up first and he to heads for the turnbuckle, he waits patiently for Benoit to get to his feet and then hits a crossbody, which Benoit rolls through, and the ref begins the count. 1, 2, and Shelton kicks out. Benoit is first to his feet as his shows great determination, he grabs Shelton’s waist and hits one German suplex, rolls over and hits another, he is blocked by Shelton at the third attempt but still has the raw power to hit the German as Shelton is flipped over his head and lies beaten on the mat.
Benoit goes for the cover but gets a two, he locks in an armbar and exerts pressure.
JR: Benoit in control.
Benjamin writhes in pain as Benoit continues the hold. Benoit eventually breaks he goes for a belly to belly but it is countered by a release German from Benjamin. Benjamin then whips Benoit into the turnbuckle and hits the stinger splash.
Benoit slumps to the floor as Shelton lines him up for a superkick, he goes to hit it but Benoit grabs his leg and locks in a sharpshooter, Shelton clambers for the ropes but Benoit pulls him away. Shelton eventually reaches the ropes but Benoit doesn’t break the hold until he is forced to. Benoit then goes up for a superplex but is pushed down by Shelton who then hits a missile dropkick as both men lie on the mat.
(Break)
JR: Welcome back to the final part of Darkness as both men are still down in the centre of the ring.
Shelton is first up and hits a bulldog and then a standing moonsault, he covers but gets a two count. He then hits a T-bone suplex and lines up Benoit for a superkick, Benoit ducks and throws Benjamin back wildly with a release German, Benoit rolls his thumb along his neck signalling the end as he goes up to the turnbuckle and then hits a Diving Headbutt, he covers 1, 2, and Shelton kicks out.
Benoit looks around in amazement and goes up for another Headbutt which he misses and Shelton rises up and lines up a Superkick but Benoit grabs his leg and locks in a sharpshooter to which Shelton taps.
TC: Here is your winner, Chris Benoit.
Benoit kicks Shelton for good measure and stands victorious in the middle of the ring.
JR: As much as I hate Benoit he put on a wrestling clinic here tonight.
Benoit stares directly into the camera and signals for the title again, he looks as hungry as ever.
PH: Thanks for watching, I’m Paul Heyman be sure to tune in next week.
JR: Until then I’m JR, good night folks
