John Walters joins Bob Roop, as they bring the action to you the fans at home, and welcome us to another edition of W4R!
MATCH #1
Matt Sydal vs. BJ Whitmer vs. Benjamin Sailer vs. Ricky Landell;
--
ROUND 1: Sydal not feeling so well, physically, and the rest of the combatants realize this and capitalize on Matt's illness. At 7:58, BJ lays in a nice springboard DDT on Matt, appearing to have knocked him out, cover 1-2-3!
WINNER: BJ Whitmer
--
ROUND 2: Sailer and Landell handing most of this round, Ricky finally makes a casual tag to BJ, who tells Ben to tag Matt back in (for obvious reasons), but Ben won't do it and wants BJ all to himself. As this round continues on, BJ tries putting Ben away, but is unable to in time, as the 10min time limit expires. The judges rule in favor of Benjamin Sailer for best heart shown in this contest.
WINNER: Benjamin Sailer
--
ROUND 3 (Whitmer vs. Sailer): This round resumes where Round 2 left off, with Whitmer using his experience against the young, smaller, upstart rookie Sailer. And at 3:47, BJ schoolboys Ben and gets the duke, 1-2-3!
WINNER: BJ Whitmer
--
WINNER OVERALL: BJ Whitmer
-After the contest, the lovely Vanessa Kay interviews Whitmer, asking him what it's like now that he'll be able to enter the WSC3 qualifying match. BJ says it's a great opportunity, he's faught real hard in his career to get where he is and where he's going and the Winner's Square Challenge III is only the beginning. Strong words from a strong man, back to you Bob & John.
Mr. Roop & Mr. Walters comment on BJ's win, saying they give him credit for his aggressivness, but Walters says he isn't in the WSC yet, let's just see if he can make it come the 21st.
MLPW commercial: After 20yrs, Tully Blanchard wants the Television Championship back around his waist... only one problem: his protegae' Teddy Hart has it! Tune into to Major League Professional Wrestling, LIVE this Thursday, only on ESPN2!
Video feature of Nathan Arnold Charging winning the 2 previous (and 2 first ever) Winner's Square Challenges - earning a trophey from the 1st, and a plaque from the 2nd. Charging says he's the modern day catch/hook wrestler from the eras of before, and it's no secret he's become #1 in W4R, and that if he was unleashed back into one of the main 2 (MECW or MLPW), he would dominate both and walk away with either Heavyweight championship. Says he's juggling MMA and W4R at the sametime, so the outcome of WSC3 will pretty much fortell his future with W4R. (a rather cryptic promo).
Charging is next, along w/ Vertigo, Jay Briscoe, and Josh Daniels, to see who's advancing into the Winner's Square Challenge 3 contest, to be the 2nd contestant, next to John Walters.
(W4R is brought to you by Subway & the 6grams Subs, Subway: eat fresh!)
MATCH #2 WSC QUALFYING MATCH
Jay Briscoe vs. Josh Daniels vs. Vertigo vs. Nathan Arnold Charging;
--
ROUND 1: Frequent tags throughout this match, as everyone gets a lil piece of everyone during the full 10min, as the time limit expires (POPs!!), as all 4 get a standing ovation from this crowd here at the Taj Mahal. Judges rule in favor of Vertigo for best performance overall.
WINNER: Vertigo
--
ROUND 2: This one ends in a hurry, at 2:48, Charging walks into Vertigo's finisher on accident, the DownWardSpiral (reverse Russian Leg Sweep), Charging's mouth is bleeding as he's visibily and legitamitly hurt, cover 1-2-3!
WINNER: Vertigo
--
WINNER OVERALL: Vertigo (Advancing To The Winner's Square Challenge 3)
-After the contest, Vanessa tries conducting an interview w/ Vertigo, but Vertigo walks past her and attends to Nathan on the mat (these 2 have a storied "history" together here in the EWA), as she leans down towards his face, but he pushes her and slowly rolls out, holding his mouth. Vertigo just looks at him and raises her arm in victory with that "well, I won.. and.... you lost" expression.
Walters snickers that scene out, as Roop also mentions those 2 outta keep the drama out, this is professional wrestling, not sports entertainment. For John Walters, this is Bob Roop saying goodafternoon and hope to see you again next time on Wrestle4Respect!
