The Main Event!
Phillip Schneider vs. Dex
At WFWF Grudge it finally looked like Dex was about to gain retribution on Trace Demon and The Final Revolution when cheap tricks led not only to a defeat but a surprising turn by new Final Revolution member Kyle Matthews. Now Dex has even more anger bubbling up inside of him and luckily, or unluckily as the case may be, he’s got the perfect man to try and take that anger out on, a man who certainly has no shortage of anger issues, Phillip Schneider. Schneider wants a rematch against Drakz for the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship and will stop at nothing to get it, as shown at Grudge when he brutally assaulted long-time friend and former tag team partner Percy for the simple act of walking to the ring. If he can do that to a man he allegedly kind of possibly liked at one point in the past then we don’t even want to think about what he’s got planned for the former World Champion Dex. Nothing pleasant we’re sure. A win here for either man will easily propel them into contendership for the World Heavyweight Championship that they both so desperately want while a loss will send them slipping further down the ladder. And all the time the phantasms of Trace Demon and Drakz will inevitably be watching on.
The Movie Star and the Veteran!
Joshua Dean vs. Jayson Garrett
Last week both of these men found themselves in unusual situations. For Jayson Garrett that came with being attacked by a horde of midget security guards under the control of the crown prince of coked up midgets himself DMK. Not a situation any of us can say we’ve been in. In Joshua Dean’s case it was the far more normal but no less unwanted defeat to the rookie Daniel Kirkbride who upset the veteran clean in the middle of the ring. Joshua Dean has promised that this won’t become a trend and he’s got a chance to prove that as he takes on the high flying A-lister Jayson Garrett. Garrett was unable to become a double champion at Battle at the Garden but the WFWF World Tag Team Champion still has plenty to be proud of and he could add another thing to that list by besting the veteran Dean here. Of course one question that will hang over his head is where is his tag team partner Chase Landon and what the hell was up with all those rats last week? Will either of those make an appearance here or will it be plain sailing for these two? This is the WFWF, we know which side our money is on.
Singles Action
Daniel Kirkbride vs. Dave Demento
Daniel Kirkbride picked up one of the biggest victories of his career last week as he overcame Joshua Dean in singles action, knocking off the veteran with the kind of performance usually seen by people in the business years. Now he has to do it all over again. Dave Demento is a veteran of professional wrestling having honed his craft in Japan but only recently has he seen tangible success in the WFWF having become the new International Champion. He has also formed a bond with the Dean’s and Penny Shannon in an attempt to ‘save’ the WFWF from the likes of the Final Revolution. But if they want to do that they’ve got to remain a force in the WFWF and that means winning matches like this one. A win for Daniel Kirkbride would not only keep his winning streak alive but also stake himself a claim for an International Championship match and with Joe Bishop inevitably playing on Dave Demento’s mind any less than one hundred per cent would be a mistake for the champion, a mistake he can’t afford to make.
More Singles Action!
Ante Whitner vs. Penny Shannon
Last week Ante Whitner came up short in his first shot at championship gold as he lost to Nikki Dean in a match for the WFWF National Championship. So from one dangerous woman to another he goes, and notably his opponent tonight is an ally of that same Nikki Dean. Penny Shannon is one of the most dangerous competitors in the WFWF, no matter the gender, and she’s got more than enough experience when it comes to beating the crap out of her Y chromosome possessing co-workers. Of course last week Penny made the challenge, that has now been confirmed by WFWF general manager Lila Sleater, and on the next show she and Cameron Stone will face off with the KKK meaning not only does Penny have a point to prove but she’s also got to keep one eye for looking over her shoulder. If Ante Whitner can capitalise on that then he might just pick up the biggest win of his young career. If he can’t… well we don’t really want to think about what will happen to the poor kid.
Proving Ground!
Nikki Dean vs. Axel Thornstowe
In any other situation the WFWF National Champion would be expected to defend her title in a match like this and what a big opportunity that would be for Axel Thornstowe. Unfortunately for Thornstowe he didn’t really impress at WFWF Grudge. In fact he didn’t even turn up which means the best he’s going to get is this, and considering a victory here means a guaranteed future shot at the National Championship we’re inclined to say that’s still a pretty big opportunity for the rookie. Of course to get that shot he’s got to go through Nikki Dean, one of the most promising prospects in WFWF right now. Nikki Dean not only has the National Championship around her waist but she’s also got the support of three very talented competitors behind her and knows exactly what it takes to win. This makes her incredibly dangerous, incredibly talented and Axel an incredibly unlucky man.
