TNA WRESTLING SOLD! June 16, 2014
The persistent rumor finally comes true with today’s announcement that Viacom - the parent company of Spike TV - has purchased a whopping 71% of TNA Wrestling effective immediately. This announcement comes amid speculation that Spike would not renew TNA Wrestling’s weekly television product entitled ‘IMPACT Wrestling’. The announcement also comes a few hours following TNA’s ‘Slammiversary’ pay-per-view event.
Viacom announced that Jeff Jarrett - the founder of TNA Wrestling - would not only maintain his minority ownership of the organization but would serve as President of TNA Wrestling moving forward. Jarrett will have the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations and be responsible for the ‘restructuring process’ of the organization.
Dixie Carter could not be reached for comment.

I really wish you'd have had Davey win that opening ladder match to set up Davey vs. Aries at Destination X. Hopefully you give Rob Terry the title at some point.

June 19th from the Sands Bethlehem Event Center
The show begins with a video package highlighting the events of this past Sunday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view before we move inside of Sands Bethlehem Event Center with Mike Tenay and Taz welcoming fans to another exciting edition of IMPACT Wrestling on SpikeTV. They begin talking about the events of Slammiversary including Austin Aries becoming the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and Bully Ray putting Dixie Carter through a table with a power bomb. They also speak about the announcement made on IMPACT Wrestling’s website where both Dixie Carter and MVP have been removed from power due to ‘constant abuse of power’ over the past few months. They plug that a brand new Director of Wrestling Operations will be announced tonight.
Match #1 - Davey Richards (w/ Eddie Edwards) vs. Crazzy Steve (w/ The Menagerie) Crazzy Steve would offer Davey Richards a balloon prior to the opening bell but Richards declined the gesture. This seemed to anger Crazzy Steve who attacked Richards before the bell rang. The match would get underway with Steve beating down on Richards using a series of kicks, punches, and a few headbutts to Richards. However, the beating wouldn’t be enough to keep Richards down who made a comeback with a series of kicks to the skull of Steve before putting him away with the DR Driver to score the pinfall victory in singles action. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards would celebrate Davey’s victory following the match. Knux would get into the face of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards before shoving Richards down. This lead to Edwards getting into a brawl with Knux before The Freak attacked both Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards leaving them laying on the mat. Crazzy Steve semi-recovered from his match with Richards enough to spray ‘The Wolves’ with silly string and tie a balloon around the wrist of Richards.
We move into the package area where Austin Aries is shown walking towards the ring with his newly won TNA World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder. We’ll hear from the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion - next.
The familiar tune of ‘Raging of the Region’ begins playing throughout the arena as Austin Aries heads toward the ring and gets on the microphone. He speaks about becoming a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion with his victory at Slammiversary claiming that he’s going to be the most dominant champion in the history of the organization. Unfortunately, Aries celebration is short-lived as ‘Return of the Ronin’ plays throughout the arena and MVP hobbles down to the ring on crutches while being accompanied by Kenny King and Lashley.
MVP begins ripping into Austin Aries stating he shouldn’t have been in the championship match and proclaiming that Aries ‘stole’ the championship from him. Aries laughs off the comments by MVP and reminds everyone that MVP was stupid enough to get himself injured three days before his championship match and Aries took advantage of his stupidity.
This leads to the temperamental Kenny King tackling Austin Aries before Lashley joins in on the attack. King and Lashley beat-down on Aries before Eric Young hit the ring swinging a steel chair to clear the ring. Young helps Aries to his feet before grabbing the microphone to challenge Lashley and Kenny King to a match.. tonight. Kenny King accepts the challenge much to the anger of MVP.
Match #2 - The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Angelina Love) vs. Gail Kim & Madison Rayne Velvet Sky would take a pretty big beating throughout the match by Gail Kim with Angelina Love refusing to wrestle Kim during the match. Sky would finally get a tag into Love following a double clothesline between Sky and Kim. This would lead to Rayne getting the hot-tag and taking Love down with a series of clotheslines followed by a DDT. Rayne would go for the pinfall but Love grabbed her hair and rolled her up to steal the victory. Angelina Love and Velvet Sky would celebrate their victory on the ramp with Madison Rayne and Gail Kim looking on in pure disgust.
The cameras turn backstage where Jeremy Borash is standing by in the interview area with Jeff Hardy. Hardy explains that Willow is always alive inside the mind of Hardy and all of his fellow creatures of the night. He comments that Magnus destroyed Willow by unmasking him at Slammiversary and tonight.. Hardy will extract revenge on behalf of Willow.
Mike Tenay and Taz are shown on-screen with them plugging tonight’s can’t miss main event of Kenny King & Lashley vs. Eric Young and Austin Aries. Tenay plugs that we’ll hear from the new Director of Wrestling operations… next.
We return to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center where Jeremy Borash is standing in the middle of the ring. Borash reads a prepared statement from the TNA Board of Directors regarding removing Dixie Carter from power and firing M.V.P as the Director of Wrestling operations. He then asks the fans to turn their attention to the stage for the reveal of the new Director of Wrestling operations when Kurt Angle’s music plays throughout the arena to the delight of the crowd. Angle climbs into the ring, shakes his with Jeremy Borash, and takes control of the microphone.
He speaks about the constant abuse of power by various authority figures in the history of TNA Wrestling before promising that he won’t follow the path of those who came before him. Angle hypes major plans for his ‘genesis’ of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling moving forward including bringing in new talent and forming new partnerships throughout the world. He closes with the announcement that he will bring TNA Wrestling’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory, to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center on October 12th. He promises that it’ll be an unbelievable night of professional wrestling before thanking the fans and leaving the ring.
The cameras turn to the locker room area where MVP is throwing a tantrum at Kurt Angle being announced as his replacement for the Director of Wrestling Operations. Kenny King and Lashley attempt to calm him down but it’s not working. He starts yelling at them for not getting the job done at Slammiversary and says they ‘better’ destroy Aries and Young tonight.
Match #3 - Tigre Uno vs. Homicide The surprise return of Homicide sent the arena into a frenzy as Homicide went one-on-one against Tigre Uno. Homicide learned pretty quick that Uno wasn’t a pushover with Uno giving him a tough challenge from the opening bell. The tough challenge wasn’t enough as Homicide would score the victory with the Gringo Killa.
An advertisement plays announcing the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view on August 10th from The Compuware Arena in Plymouth, MI.
The cameras move backstage where Eric Young is shown entering Austin Aries’ locker room. Young informs Aries that he’s cashing in his rematch clause on next week’s broadcast and will reclaim the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Aries says he didn’t expect anything less than Young wanting his rematch. Aries and Young agree that they will have each other’s back tonight to take down Lashley and Kenny King. They shake hands before Young leaves the room.
Match #4 - Jeff Hardy vs. Magnus (w/ Bram) Magnus and Bram attack Hardy during his entrance tossing him into the steel ringpost and guardrail before tossing him into the ring. The official refused to start the match before Bram got in his face and he reluctantly rung the bell. Magnus went for the cover but Hardy shockingly kicked out at two. Hardy would make a comeback before hitting the ‘Twist of Fate’ to score the pinfall victory on Magnus. Following the match, Bram would try to attack Hardy with a steel chair but he avoided the swing of the chair and hit Bram with a Twist of Fate. Hardy would celebrate his victory as Mike Tenay sends it to a video package.
A video package airs hyping the arrival of Havok.
We move to the ringside area where Mike Tenay and Taz hype next week’s broadcast that will feature Austin Aries first championship defense against Eric Young. They also announce that Eddie Edwards will face Knux in singles action.
The cameras show Austin Aries/Eric Young and Kenny King/Lashley via split screen heading toward the ring. Your main event is next!
Match #5 - Eric Young & Austin Aries vs. Bobby Lashley & Kenny King The match begins looking like your standard tag team contest with King and Lashley working together to keep Young from getting the tag into Aries. However, the match would quickly break down into an all out brawl between the two teams when Aries broke up pinfall attempt by Lashley. Aries and King would battle around the ringside area while Young started fighting off Lashley including almost stealing the victory with a roll-up. Lashley would score the victory for his team following a massive spear on Young and pinning him for the victory.
Bobby Lashley would grab the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from the timekeeper and raise it above his head before tossing the belt into the ring to Aries who was checking on Young. Lashley yells that he’s coming for Aries and motions for the championship around his waist as Mike Tenay plugs next week’s broadcast with Young cashing in his rematch clause!

I like the angle that you're taking this at. Loving the move of bringing Double J back, I always loved him.
Impact:
- I like Aries as the new champion. I'll just say that off of the bat.
- Also, your format game is strong. Looks super super good.
- Liking that The Menagerie looked strong after losing to Davey Ricchards.
- Nice little segment to set up the main event.
- Good idea to make Love/Sky look like the cheap heels.
- LOL @ the Jeff Hardy interview.
- Kurt Angle back? Hell yes. Obviously him as Director of Wrestling Operations will change the company. Good move.
- HOMIIIIICIIIIIIDE!!!! crap yeah!!
- Jeff Hardy looking strong, which is awesome.
- Loving the anarchy that the main event brought. Can't wait to see where that angle goes.
Keep up the great work!
