LIVE from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois!
The Main Event!
Shawn Malakai & Ace Bennett vs. Thunder & Crow
At Scars & Stripes the unprecedented happened. In the all-important Scars & Stripes battle royal, a match that by rights should only have one winner, four men emerged victorious. Sound complicated and stupid to you? Well good, because it does to us too but it happened so we’ll all have to live with it. Anyway, with everyone still waiting to find out who exactly will move on to face new WFWF World Champion Trace Demon at Superbrawl we have this massive main event tag team match to add fuel to the fire. Now while Shawn Malakai may be teaming with his close friend Ace Bennett he’ll also be standing opposite Thunder, a man who has been as close a brother to him in recent months until Malakai turned on him and put him through the announce table following the battle royal, meaning this match has all kinds of crazy all over the place personal problems between those three. Then throw in Crow, who somehow walked out of his debut WFWF event not only as the co-winner of the Scars & Stripes battle royal but also as the WFWF International Champion, and no we don’t think it’s legal either, and you’ve got a powder keg just waiting to erupt.
Trace Demon’s Championship Address
There’s more than a few questions stemming from the Scars & Stripes pay per view but as we’ve already mentioned, if you’re reading this the right way of course, the biggest one is who will go on to challenge Trace Demon for the WFWF World Championship at Superbrawl. There’s no better man to ask than Trace Demon himself because not only is he the WFWF World Champion, most would say by questionable circumstances, but he’s also the owner of the WFWF meaning he’s got every right to make the decision even if nobody else agrees. So what will it be? Well if we know Trace Demon it’s going to be whatever is best for… well, for Trace Demon.
WFWF National Championship Match
Joe Bishop © vs. Reverend Shadow
Joe Bishop had a hell of a run during the Scars & Stripes pay per view but came up short as he was eliminated by Jayson Garrett. Scars & Stripes was a big challenge for the young star and a bitter disappointment. Now he has another big challenge ahead of him and the three time National Champion will be hoping to avoid another big disappointment, though that’s much easier said than done when you look at his opponent. Reverend Shadow has always been a force to be reckoned with and coming off a victory over Chase Landon at Scars & Stripes he’s looking better than ever. Not only did he claim victory but he also shockingly interfered in the battle royal and eliminated his supposed friend Wayne McGurk. While there has been a lot of questions over why he did such a thing and whether it has anything to do with Shadow’s alliance with Trace Demon the more important question is how Wayne McGurk is going to take this because we’re betting it won’t be lying down. Will Wayne play a part in this match and will that knowledge cost Shadow or will he capture the National Championship from Joe Bishop? It’s the past vs. the future in a match where only the present matters.
Six Man Strange Bedfellows Tag Team Match
Yukio Blaze, Jayson Garrett & Chase Landon vs. Whisper, Ace Andrews & Dex
Whisper has yet to really make the kind of impact he promised to make when he first debuted in the WFWF. While his supposed Whisper’s War teammates Crow and Dave Demento had a huge Scars & Stripes Whisper and Ace Andrews both had rather uneventful and unsuccessful nights. Well now they get a chance to rectify that as the pairing are thrown together alongside Dex, the madman who doesn’t know whether he’s an angel or a science experiment, against the equally bizarre trio of Yukio Blaze, Jayson Garrett and Chase Landon. Blaze came up short in what many considered his last chance to headline Superbrawl, though the luck of the draw didn’t do him much good, while both Garrett and Landon put on fine performances but couldn’t get the job done either. These three couldn’t be more different, Blaze the grizzled veteran, Garrett the cocky rich newcomer and Landon the… well, the really weird dude with a rat for a best friend. Yes, it’s going to be a culture clash on both sides of this six man tag team match but with so much on the line for every single man, most importantly pride and momentum heading into the biggest show of the WFWF calendar, can they put their differences aside and pick up the victory or will they crumble and burn?
Ultraviolent Showcase
Penny Shannon vs. Hendrix
Why Penny Shannon, why did you do it? That’s what every single person wants to know after watching Scars & Stripes because after a month of being beaten and abused by Trace Demon, and more importantly after months of being best friends with Scarlett Quinn, Penny turned her back on Scarlett and helped Trace Demon to his second WFWF World Championship. So why’d she do it? We still don’t have an answer to that question but what we do have is the next best thing – a match featuring Penny Shannon against the newcomer Hendrix. Now you might not have heard of Hendrix before but let us tell you he’s not one to be taken lightly. The latest addition to the WFWF roster courtesy of Trace Demon’s new talent initiative Hendrix is as nutty as they come, a crazed man with no friends or family and only his own reflection to keep him company. So what better way than to introduce a madman to the WFWF than to throw him into a match with the maddest woman in the company. Of course with Scarlett Quinn waiting somewhere in the wings the question for Penny will be whether she can keep her composure, or whether Hendrix will pull off a huge upset.
Tag Team Action
Mak Cross & Cam Nitta vs. Andrew Carter & Mason Dixon
The tag team division in the WFWF is certainly heating up, especially considering it’s a company that doesn’t actually have an active set of tag team championships. One of the teams leading the charge is the duo of Mak Cross and Cam Nitta who have gotten over their problems earlier in the year to once again team up to some success. Across the ring from them stand Andrew Carter and Mason Dixon, something of a thrown together tag team that has everything to gain from working together. Carter has been in the WFWF for much of 2013 without ever really breaking through, remaining static in his position. Mason Dixon is a newcomer who’ll be making his debut on Revolution and will need to make a big impact to separate himself from the pack. If the tag team division is becoming prominent again then becoming a part of that, and more importantly a successful part, would mean Andrew Carter and Mason Dixon cen set themselves up for a big run in the months to come. And of course behind it all remains the surprising returns of Slanted and Enchanted who took out Mak Cross last night. Why are they here and will they play a part in this match, only time will tell.
Make Your Name Open Battle Royal
Leon Kano vs. Matthew Peterson vs. Ryan Daniels vs. Ryu Hayashi vs. TBD*
The basis is simple, an open challenge battle royal for anyone who wants to enter and make a name for themselves on the road to Superbrawl. Momentum is key in the WFWF which means winning this match will almost guarantee the victor a front running status for a main show match at the biggest pay per view of the WFWF calendar year. While these four men have already announced their intent to take part in the battle royal that doesn’t mean anything because anybody new or old can enter if they so wish and while many of the veterans will have little to gain from taking part a host of other competitors, including these four, have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This is your chance people, make it count.
* TBD refers to any and all newcomers and returnees who may wish to take part in the match.
