Why can they not make a decent ring? If you look at all these play sets they make like the MITB, Extreme rules, Backstage, and Flex force stage with basic ring, why is it not an option to make a decent and affordable ring. When they made the ESR, they're the ones who decided to use a bunch of fabric and detail on it and didn't go with a more reasonable price range. Plus when they made it, it was during a time when they had the defining moments line that used up a lot of their budget im sure and put more effort into their elite line. Now that they've made budget cuts, etc, etc, why cant they make a ring. I honestly see no reason

1) Cost effective 2) the size of the ring's box fits perfectly on the shelf 3) Rings by themselves don't really sell enough to justify flooding the market with them 4) Mattel hates you 5) A set that has a ring w/ accessories, or is a large size exclusive sells better

The rings to me are fine, it's just that they need to make them bigger. A lot bigger.

I'd like to have one bigger than the basic ring but smaller than the elite scale ring. Except with elite scale ring turnbuckles and tighter ropes. Also a mat that doesn't move or bunch up every time I touch it.

I have an idea for Mattel. Make a ring the size of a basic ring, and put removable ringskirts. They wouldn't even have to put removable turnbuckles. So in a nutshell, just a basic ring with removable ring skirts.

They just can't seem to understand that there are more people who buy the figures now then when they originally started.

I hate those stupid plastic Basic BOX rings. They are way too small, the entire thing is just like a big plastic box.
The Elite Scale Ring was built like you would actually build a wrestling ring. You build the frame, lay the canvas, put on the apron, put up the posts, string the turnbuckles and ropes, and then put on the pads....it's design is flawless and true to life.
You can't lay 2 wrestlers of any size down in a Basic ring and have them be head to toe and not have at least one of their feet under or on the ropes. Suplexes, powerbombs, any type of throwing move you just can't do because the ring is just not big enough.
People can complain that the Elite Scale Ring is too big, they don't have enough space or that it cost too much...but for me, it's perfect. I love being able to do suplexes and have the guy come down and NOT hit the ropes.
I'll never buy another ring. The Elite Scale Ring is perfect and I wish Mattel would have made add-ons like a cage or hell in a cell. I may take a trip to the craft store, as I've seen some really awesome custom cages people have made that I may take a crack at building before the summer is over and I have to go back to work.

Retailers DON'T want it. They feel they will sell alot more $10 basic rings than they would $60 larger rings...so they aren't going to order it. because to retailers it's a bad investment. And seeing the first ESR had to be sold to discount stores at a lower price they aren't going to make it again.

I always thought the esr was too big. I wouldn't mind a basic ring without the spring action and just alittle bigger in size.

I think if we each mailed $60 to MattelDesignTeam and hinted we'd like an exclusive Elite ring sold through Ringside, the odds of them making another would (very slightly) improve...

I think a bigger ring would be nice. Not as big as the ESR but between the ESR and basic and make it plastic with like a 30$ price point which most playsets are aimed at price wise. They could even do a WM set or something and give each figure a fabric apron to built all four sides like ring gear that Jakks had.

Why was Jakks able to put out so many amazing rings and Mattel can't? The WM2 ring with the blue steel cage is my most favorite Christmas present ever. The first elimination chamber and the RAW real scale ring were perfect too. I wish I still had them, but the process of growing up and moving nearly wiped me out and I just started building up again a couple years ago. Too bad those rings cost to much money now, they were great. I never saw an ESR before but if it the same size as the Jakks real scale rings, how is that too big? It's perfect!

I forgot about the Money in the Bank set from Jakks, another gem! I really wish I hadn't thrown everything away all those years ago ... #Depressed

The rings have never interested me, tbh. I would like to have an ESR, but I don't lose sleep over it. The figures are the main attraction to me. That being said, I'd love to have the backstage playset, because that was my favorite thing about wrestling when I was a kid and my favorite Jakks playsets.
