Making more Cena,Punk,Miz and Kane figures before making a RaZor Ramon, Also making rigged polls online only to kill peoples dreams of releasing their favorite wrestler! FU Mattel When you say "What figure would you like Mattel to do in their flashback line?" don't be surprised when people think that means that you have them signed, as simply asking the question is enough to generally imply that these are all possible. Otherwise, as Mattel and WWE you are essentially doing the equivalent of a thread on here asking about your dream lineup or who do you want as a legend even if they can't be made? That was asinine on the end of whoever created that poll, and crushing when we all got excited about thinking that these guys could all be a possibility and then Mattel says these guys aren't even under contract and might not get made anyway.

I would say most are Stylized, but some are "cartoony" or less realistic in detail. Stylized sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but generally looks okay. Totally agree about Jakks. Almost every scan looked great every time. And you could always tell who the majority of them were. But the bodies were awful and the deco lacking quite a bit. And just no real parts selection.

For some reason mattel sucks at hair color. What happened with the stubble on andre the giant, that was amazing.

The distribution is just awful right now around me. Why won't Target stock Basics or Battle Packs? Why does Wal-Mart only have Signature Series? Why does Mattel make Sig Series in the first place? Why is TRU stuck with extra Cenas again? Why does TRU have so much B26? Why does K-Mart only have old ass figure, BP20, or the ungodly Signature Series? Is there anyone anywhere actually buying Power Slammers? What is going with Mattel?

Leg sleeves, re-using of some molds when better choices are available, facial hair. And the head mold of Rey. His first looked ok but needed work, and the current one just looks....odd. Like it's perfectly round, doesn't look remotely like a person in a mask, looks more like someone found an inscale head from a candy or bootleg figure and used it. ....can't think of anything else because I keep looking at that AJ .gif Can't be as bad as seeing that gif in various threads and never once realizing it was AJ........

Is there anyone anywhere actually buying Power Slammers? What is going with Mattel? Do you live in NC? Because you just described Winston-Salem in a nutshell. I know that the truth is that everywhere is like that. Signature Series makes no sense. I understand that to make money, repaints being released frequently cost less to make, and when it's Cena and Mysterio, that they sell well overall, even at 3 per case and even if it's sometimes a slow burn. That's where the money to do the obscure guys and the unique toolings and the new parts all come from. I know it's not magic but the Cenas and Ortons that everyone loves to bitch about that make the line awesome in the long run. That said, all those guys come out often enough that Signature Series seems like overkill, and when most of them are re-issues, not even repaints, that they clog the shelves for so much longer. Do retailers really demand signature series? Despite that being most people's answer, my hunch is that it isn't retailers, but Mattel whispering in their ear "You want this" and retailers then going "Well, I guess they should know, so sure, put me down for a billion cases!" Which is why summer always sucks around here, because the Signature series is here to roost and keep shelves warm until August or September.

Not trying to get more people signed for a figure and paintjobs are my big issues with Mattel as of right now.

- The Legends poll - Case breakdowns (should be 1 figure of each guy in every wave in every case) - ^ Revision cases which remove Flashbacks. Thanks Matty, not as though these things are hard enough to find in the first place ^ - Not enough 'first time in the line' guys. How long have they been sitting on that One Man Gang prototype while giving us our EIGHTH Elite Mysterio in Elite 24. - Still giving us figures in damn black attires. I want some more colour in my collection. - Missing the boat on Elite Macho Man Punk and Elite Hitman Punk. Would have been KILLER figures and we're never getting them unless it's an Exclusive and costs a bomb. Nice one. - 'He's not on TV enough' - release another Mysterio. Cut the excuses. - 'Budget, budget, budget' every year we hear this line is #1 and making a boatload of money and selling out. Put your hands in your pockets and spend a little more on these from time to time, please. - You know, you could always spend a little less on your damn packaging. It looks awesome and all, but it's not exactly eco-friendly, either. Look at Liz or Mysterio and how much money is going into wasted plastic packaging around them. So much empty space and a waste of materials. It could instead be going on the figures themselves. - Scale. Started off great, but now we're getting Cody Rhodes bigger than the Rock!? Come on. And I don't know who the hell chose the parts for Ryback, but you're damn blind. - Ignoring your fanbase and customers. Matty forums no longer support any form of life in the WWE section. We don't get Q&As unless it's at a convention, and even then they're 5 minutes long and we never get 'yes/no' answers, always 'stay tuned', 'we'll see' or 'idk lol'.
- SHOW US PROTOS BEFORE THE FIGURES GO UP FOR PRE-ORDER, or at least at the SAME TIME. This annoys me so damn much. How can we pre-order something without knowing what the hell it looks like? Absolutely intellectually- disabled.

- Case breakdowns (should be 1 figure of each guy in every wave in every case) That wouldn't work. An elite case has 8 figures, and there aren't 8 different figures per series. A basic case has twelve figures, and there aren't twelve different figures per series. You've been a silly boy and misunderstood what they mean. TV time = fan recognition. Guys like Rey Mysterio, Triple H and Undertaker are all firmly established in fans' minds, even if they're injured/on hiatus, because they've had so much prominent TV time for years. The "TV time" thing refers to people who are never on TV and the average fan has no idea who they are and no attachment to them. This would only be valid if pre-orders didn't sell so well. The way it works now is brilliant. People pre-order tons when they first go up, then even more people pre-order (or get the back orders). I don't want to see the figures six months before I get them, and be bored by the time they come out. The way it works now, I see the figure for the first time a few weeks before I get my hands on it.

I've been a collector since 1996 and its hard for me to complain at all because the modern Mattel figures are simply leagues above of the old bcas I originally collected. With those sometimes guys had pads that didn't wear them and designs were sometimes totally made up and so on.
With Mattel its only small things. Sometimes the wrong pad mold gets used and some hair colors look a bit shoddy. That's about it from me and these things don't even really bother me since the figures are near perfect in my opinion.

Sheamus's hair, some of their head sculpts are terrible, and why does Orton look so old on the newer figures? his face dosen't have as much wrinkles as you portray him as having.

Mattel should really change their case structure to include all figures from the elite set in the 1st wave and then make the adjustments in the 2nd wave of cases.

They tend to mess up great scans with really strangely positioned eyebrows.

They struggle with facial hair. E16 Rock's goatee looks like is was drawn with a thick Sharpie.
Big Show's short boots/painted knees. Looks terrible. They can borrow Taker/Kane's tall boots and just make a new lower leg piece for Show that would correct the problem. Why hasn't that happened already given the amount of Show figures they've released? Maybe in E22?

I respect everyone's opinion...I really do..but get tired of us as a collecting community rehashing the same issues, requests etc.
Just like Jakks, Hasbro and other toyu companies, Mattel hits out of the park with some likenesses and scans while falling short in other areas such as the facial hair.
The Punk ear tattoo is a non-factor..if they had made it to scale, you would hardly be able to see it. Should they have even really bothered at that point? Some would gripe if it wasn't there, while some gripe that it is but not the right size and location.
Like any other company, Mattel is trying to create the best output with the variables they have to work with. We have to be realistic with expectations as adult collectors.
Again, I'm not favoring any toy company, just trying to be realistic in our expectations, requests and criticisms.
The fact that Mattel actually does post here, openly asking our opinions speaks volumes alone. Again, just my opinion.
